I've heard Vanguard is hot nowadays - I myself am going to give it a try as soon as possible. It seems as sandbox and old-school as a mmog can be these days.
About teamup, try City of Heroes - it's group oriented and original.
Ok im not going to find something to replace FFXI...does anyone know of a game that isnt very repetitive then? i mean i just want more to do than solo, and craft. most games i play only have those two things to do but nothing else, no hard boss monsters, no unique quest, no team play or anything. I just want a mmo with something to do other than solo and craft.

WoW, EQ2, LOTRO, AoC- all of them have quests, hard boss mobs or teamplay at some level.
Yeah i want to raid. in FFXI there was more to do than just level, like, Notorious Monsters like Behemoth and Fafnir. Sky raids where you would kill bosses like Faust and Olla in order to kill Gods like Genbu, Suzaku, Sieryu, and Byakko. Most mmo's after you get to a high level theres nothing more to do... i dont mind leveling up but i need something to look forward to so i dont get bored, i need a reason to level.
just go back to ffxi. when did your character get hacked?
ffxi now has a recovery feature that lets you go back to your character before it got hacked. ffxi has been a big target for hackers. but honestly i dont know anyone in game that's been hacked and I was playing it for almost 6 yrs now. I dont much anymore tho, i only stayed that long because the community was excellent.
Actually I was more a loner in some parts and I hated having to get a group up just to go grind XP. I loved the job system and such though I wish they would make it like that but from where you could solo (if you want). Because sometimes I didn't have time to sit around find a group then maybe get stuck with idiots who mess you up and then get nothign accomplished.
The first FFXI i got was about 4-5 years ago, when it was pretty new. It was for the ps2 so it came in the big white box with the Hard Drive and everything. I THOUGHT all my papers for the game were still in that big white box but i guess not. I guess i have a asian preference.

well i would recomend L2. its group based and asian and has bosses and raids
I have been playing FFXI for 4 years now and there is a game that is like FFXI that I am waiting to come out. That game is "Aion the Tower of Eternity" it looks way better than FFXI and I';m a die hard FFXI fan so for me to say that is even still shocking to me. Aion has not released yet but is scheduled for release anytime in or around september (so I hear) but definatly by the end of the year.
So if you are like me and are hooked on FFXI because you spent so much time getting several jobs to 75 then just keep playing until this game comes out, make a job that you like from scratch and just wait, I think you will be happy once Aion comes out. Personaly I think Aion will be better by far.
Right now I'm playing WoW and FFXI but mostly WoW because FFXI got dull. I cant stand to lose all the time invested in my character though so I don't think I'll cancel anytime soon. Goodluck on the next game though if you choose otherwise, have fun.
A coupple of people have told me about Aion and how its supposed to be alot like FFXI. So i will jump on that when it comes out but for now i think ill try WoW, just to pass the time until Aion is out. Thanks for your input everyone i really aprecieate it!

Umm i think it would be about 6 or 7 months ago now... ive been calling SE over and over and nothing so far
what was the first ff11 pack you got. because your playonling code is on the same paper as the activation codes. .
