Why do you assume all those not renewing are WOW players going back to WOW? Do you always make such sweeping generalizations? A lot of players can see AOC for the lacklustre linear game that it is, it's as simple as that. The mature community AOC was supposedly targeting towards know better than to carry on giving Funcom money for a half done game. If you enjoy it then fair enough. Have fun.

I will be renewing and I am using a ati 9800 series with a pentium 4. surprisingly runs nicely, and I'm not BSing. With that said.. I'm sure it will be alot nicer on my new duo core 3.0 wolfdale and two 8800 GTS's on LSI MB! I can't wait for my new toy! not just for AoC but for the other games like Crysis.
Just felt like I need to post a new positive thread here.. to counter-balance the 20 or so people that must spent 3 hours a day posting doom and gloom about this game... no I won't tell you what build I have... so I don't have to hear you flame me about how I unbalanced they are.. no I won't tell you what level I am - so I don't have to hear you tell me about all the lacking content. just around the corner.. no I won't tell you my computer specs - you do not need to be my IT guy.. thanks though. THE GAME IS FAR FROM PERFECT, BUT IT IS FUN AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL !! I feel very sad for anyone who after playing AOC, has such a WoW addiction that they have to go back and stare at that game anymore... but addictions are merciless, and make people say some crazy things... So go ahead.. please tell me what a stooge I am.. k thx

I have been 80 for about 4 weeks and I wont be renweing this game sucks, nothing for end content, sieging is wacked, classes are wacked either OP or UP, and the game world is small. American Servers are like beta servers for the Europe, if this is what they came up with after 4 years i dont think they will fix it.

Must be older than the rest of the crowd here. For me, renewal means hitting age 30, having the jewel on your palm start flashing, and flying around a stage getting vaporized to the cheers of the stiill-under 30 crowd
I haven't crashed yet but my wife has a couple of times on her older machine - no biggie. Encountered a few bugs and glitches but still having a good time ... and that's all that matters.
so far ive counted 20 ppl renewing in this thread and 8 ppl not make it 21 cause i definitely renewed. maybe the hate for the game on this site isnt as bad after all

It is your money and I will not berate you for spending it as you choose, but i will for your ignorant comments regarding those who chose not to resubscribe. The blatant irony of this post and its replies is amusing. A tone of raging ego radiates from the posts of those who have resubscribed, as though they are more mature because they play unfinished games. This is not about any other MMOs; in a free enterprise market when you pay for unfinished MMOs you make them acceptable. The market will deliver what you expect, no more and no less. That means if there is widespread boycott of a game taht is unfinished, the next game will be done. If you are content with a game that is unfinished and make fun of those who dislike wasting their money you are only worsening the situation.
Once again, waste your money as you chose. Don't be smug about it nor feign obliviousness to the flaws that have scared the majority away.
I agree that the state of the game is disputable, but I have preordered collector's edition, did early start, subscribed for 6 months, still playing and not regretting it since I am enjoying myself in the game (I do have to add though, that I have been lucky so far regarding being hit by bugs, so maybe that's why I am still happy)

games are first and foremost meant to be fun and this game is a lot of fun. Yes there is work to do but overall im having a lot of fun in the game.you say we shouldnt accept an mmo being unfinished but no mmo has ever released flawlessly. why am i gonna expect something that no company has done with this genre of games
This game is still in beta, and that is being generous. If you want to play this game your best bet is to wait 6 months, whether the game will be working or not who knows. But there is no reason to support companies that release products like this. Canceled my subscription after about a week, stopped playing shortly after, the game is nowhere near the stage it should have been prior to release, and it appears from the forums to be getting even worse.

But in all seriousness.. if you like the game good for you. Altho I fail to see the point of a counter point to the "I'm quitting" threads.
Gaming is subjective so I don't really care if you like or hate a game.. it won't affect.. my personal experience with the game.
But as I said.. if you are having fun then more power to ya.
