It has all the great elements of SWG. Even better it's still in development and the DEV's really listen to the community!

Looks like something 3-5 years away at best. Couldnt find a projected release date on the site anywhere. Looks good on paper.
See you in the dream..
The Fires from heaven, now as cold as ice. A rapid ascension tolls a heavy price.
link is broken
oh

The link just has a misspelling they are at
www.vizualfxstudios.com/crusades
They are using a Z instead of a S in VIZUAL.
I read through their site and got so excited...But keeping calm in case they can't deliver.
There dev team is very responsive to questions and things. I really like the skills and the simular things to SWG. But I must see this Seemless planet to space travel with out loading screens.
O BTW. They are in Alpha now and aren't 2-3 years out.

So ah... alpha... huh. I've seen games in alpha for quite a while... What would you say is the projected time based of them being in alpha?
"And after blizzard takes over the world, they are gonna gather a bunch of lemmings, sit on their fat asses near a cliff, and watch the little fuzzy bastards suicide dive into the ground below. . . . . all just for their own entertainment."
Perfect Star Wars replacement? They said this about Dark and Light, Vanguard, Pirates of the Burning Sea....
I hope it's true. But until I see it, I'm not getting my hopes up.
I don't know if I missed something, but I don't remember any of those games being nearly as promising as this one. I feel like not many people have been scorned by the NGE as me because I have not been able to play any other MMO for a long period of time. This was simply because I compared it to SWG. FOr me to get excited about a game is a big deal.
Looks pretty neat , I will have to bookmark their website.
Yep, I cant stay with a game long either.....if SWG never received the NGE I would still be playing my three accounts.
There has been no game as engrossing as SWG...I cant believe no one has picked up their model.....everything has to be wow now.....maybe that is why i have given up on MMOs......they are all wow clones, which i happen to dislike.
I hate WOW. I think the game itself is boring and I hate that it set the model for every MMO now. I'll take Pre-CU, even Pre-NGE anyday!
Looks really good to me. The fact that they are allready in alpha and predicts a relative short time for beta is just amazing i think. Maybe to good. How long have they been working on this project? Is this the new trend? Working on a game in secret, then announce just before beta? That seems like the path Bioware is going with their MMO atm.
Then again Vanguard was announced really early, was in beta for ages. Ran out of funds. And then crashed and burned. (I tried VSOH today on vet trial. It still sucks). Lots of games try to build hypes early to secure funding and PR. Most of them goes the way of the NGE and worse.
LOTRO was one of the games that pulled it of. Beta was short and the game polished at release. I guess so was WoW, but i never really cared about WoW. I had a master doctor/master swordsman running around in the greatest saga ever told. MINE.

I want pre-CU back
Station.com : We got your game
Yeah?, Well i want it back!!!
Gotta love this questions answer in the FAQ.
What inspired the game?
Our inspiration for creating Crusades evolved through experience playing MMO's. Playing along with friends and guild mates, we wanted to re-incorporate features that were no longer available or had been removed or nerfed in other games. Players invest allot of time into their characters and in-game experience. We will not be nerfing anyone and we will stand by the design constitution we have committed to.
Hmmm, I wonder if that gives anyone any idea as to what game they may be referring to.
Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there,
80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters.
Ah, but one, ONE of them is a warrior,
and he will bring the others home.

Well, i think their site has only been up for just a few months. I have no idea how long they have been working on the game itself but they are apparently very far into development.
Hmmm....
smells like Fish...yet oddly enough, it taste like Chicken. I will adopt a wait and pee approach.
thats right...I said PEE!
Uh oh, I feel that slight glimmer of hope welling up. Better not be more Vaporware.
Think "Darkfall" and that will ground you back to reality
I have to say.... I'm not that impressed with this game after seeing their website.
The FAQ is very vague at best.
You can't even see the "Character Classes" without logging into their site. (Perhaps someone who has an account on that website could tell us if there is even anything worth registering for to see on that page?)
The fact that there even ARE classes seems to conflict with their claim of "Versatile 'Be What You Want To Be' Role Playing with an open ended Storyline"
And most suspicious of all, there are no screenshots or videos of the game in action anywhere on the site. I find it pretty hard to believe the game is in alpha testing if they have nothing but concept art to show for it.
I have to agree with the guy who said the game was atleast 5 years away. I call this vapourware. (Even Darkfall has some screenshots to prove it exists and most people still call it vaopurware.)
The History of the Order of The Golden Shields
when i think 11 classes, and 15 proffesions. I get the funny feeling like its a linear WoW/EQ/Vanguard/linear shit type game. the Proffesions only meaning like Blacksmith, jewelcrafter, etc.
Playing: EVE Online
Favorite MMOs: WoW, SWG Pre-cu, Lineage 2, UO, EQ, EVE online
Looking forward to: Archeage, Kingdom Under Fire 2

No offense, it seems 16 posts, and Ms. Born Yesterday 2 posts makes it hard for me to swallow the idea of this game. I didn't even buy into DnL or Darkfall. It's silly. They produce or they don't. Nice website though...
Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.
Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside
Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR.
Think "Darkfall" and that will ground you back to reality
Worth a look though (see my last post for Darkfall reference). It's simple. Follow the game, if they deliver great. If they don't, who cares. Not worth getting into long, drawn out, and pseudo-factual fanboi debates like the idiots from Vanguard, Darkfall, Dark and Light, <insert joke mmo here>.
Just don't get carried away to the point of being a DBag.
Edit: for a game in "alpha" you would think they might have a screen shot.
Edit: Vapor

and before this, we had several other "replacement" MMO's. They all failed...
At one time, each of the above MMO's have been touted as the replacement MMO for us SWG pre-cu vets.
Below is the next possible replacement MMO's we are told to follow...
Its like a sick twisted cruel joke. Each time I follow an MMO in development I find myself looking for key words like sandbox or freedom coming from the devs statements. Instead all I end up seeing is references to world of warcraft bleh.
Honestly I dont think there is a replacement out there with the exception of classic servers.
nothing like the original
...coming soon!
