I went to investigate where this so called Aventurine Office is located, I wanted to use Google Earth to count the employee cars in the lot (Was explained in a different thread), but after much investigation the address is fake. I will display everything I got out of this little venture. So does an office actually exist? Is there really something going on? Looking around the area there was some big business placed on the street, if someone can dig a bit more and see what you can find I'd appreciate it.
First was the search for the Aventurine SA address. Well finding the official site http://aventurine.gr, I wasn't able to get anything so my next best idea is use a WHOIS. For those that don't know when a company or person registers a domain all this information is stored in a WHOIS database for everyone to look through, you have to pay a fee to get this concealed. Any the following information was found:
Domain Name: aventurine.gr
Availability: In Use.
Details: Domain Name:aventurine.gr
Domain Handle:d4dd11ad1bf034c10ad90e07cada7a7df-gr
Protocol Number:1014773
Creation Date:10-2-2005
Expiration Date:9-2-2009
Updated Date:2-4-2008
Registrar:?????? ??
Registrar Referral URL:http://www.otenet.gr
Registrar Referral Email:domain-names@otenet.gr
Whois Server:
Bundle Name:aventurine.gr
Name Server:ns1.aventurine.gr
Name Server:ns2.aventurine.gr
2005 creation date had me scratching my head I thought they existed in 2002, hmmmm. This mystery just gets deeper and deeper. At any point their server host is otenet in which they register the domain for them so their address etc is not shown. Lucky for me this is the internet and if I dig deep enough I can find anything so I searched onward.
Next I came across another gem, it seems Aventurine likes to sponsor sports
http://www.eswc.com/nsp2008, of coarse there it is tasos@aventurine.com for the contact both for Greece and Malaysia which had me thrown off a bit... Why Malaysia? There is no end to this mystery is there?
Finally I got the address but the address does not seem to exist, the road does not the number. Going here: http://www.findownersearch.com/owner/2530234/
I found Aventurine SA's address which is:
362 Kiffisias Avenue, Halandri 152 33 Athens, Greece
Using google earth I was able to navigate to:
Kiffisias Avenue, Halandri 152 33 Athens, Greece
Which is the road but the number does not exist I found the GENERAL CONSULATE OF THE REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES 178 KIFFISIAS AVENUE, (4TH FLOOR) HALANDRI - 152 31 ATHENS, GREECE, and it seemed to stop there.
Strange indeed, strange indeed.
Comments
So, his address does not exist.....
Strange indeed, strange indeed

Lol, when this awesome Saga of Darkfall eventually concludes someone is bound to write a book about it.
No matter how the story turns out in the end it is destined to be a riveting read tbs...
I dunno, mr Thompson might decide to use this whole thing to support his "ZOMG GAMEZ R BAD" campaign
They run LAN gaming conventions.
As for the address ... you couldn't find it on the interwebs ... big whoop. I'm sure there are a lot of addresses that you can't find on the interwebs.
OP is a troll attempt I think.
It fails.
Wow, you wasted a lot of time. You could have just asked Asp or that other guy that went to their offices. Or maybe you could have looked up the stock information and press release of Darkfall's new publisher, which says they're working with Aventurine to distribute the game. If you're implying that Aventurine doesn't exist... well that's old news. The question isn't whether or not it exists, its what state the game is in.
Darkfall Travelogues!
So, i rather belived the OP and did some investigation of my own. Within the first 20 seconds i have found 3 corporations and half a dozen of Doctors with the same address, so that building is either real or a scandal which makes the Watergate one look like a small burgle. Off to Google earth....
Took me 5 mins or so to find it, and no, i have never been there before.
i29.photobucket.com/albums/c289/Etoiles_mortant/Aventurine.jpg
(pin not reladed, it's there for my reasons, don't know the exact building the offices are located in, since Kiffisias Avenue is rather huge)
In conclusion: Op fails at internet.
Edit: some typos

We don't need a king of MMOs, we need a group of Titans so that everyone can play what suits them best.

Google map link here! for the above pic.
Man! That is one long road!
I googled leoforos and apparently it means avenue in Greek, so no wonder the OP could not find the address. Trust the Greeks to use Greek words!
That is not even the right road, what the hell you do pick a spot? Look at Aventurine's address in my OP, its on the Avenue not some fucked up back street. God damn people at least read the damn post before trying to trash it.
Friction you fail I obviously said I found the address on the net, I even gave my evidence, READ READ READ! I can't stress this enough, reading the first sentence isn't going to help you.
EDIT: This is the company's registered Address:
362 Kiffisias Avenue, Halandri 152 33 Athens, Greece
When you use your Greek crap it isn't even in the right neighborhood:
362 Leoforos Kifisias, Chalandri 152 33 Athens, Greece, and that address points to a small house just off the road.
So bring it on, prove me wrong this time.
Ok fine even if you want to say language changes from Greek to English, that address points to a house not a business.
You state the obvious, I made a damn sig just so you morons know when I'm around so you can stop saying troll since I spell it out for you every post.
This isn't about making shit up, this is about finding where and what this god damn place is. I even said in the beginning help me out to discover the truth, I did make this just to get people going there was a reason and I posted my evidence to be the reason. Obviously all you fanbois care about is what looks good, well you can't have your cake and eat it too.
Hmmmm ...... it seems to me what is needed here is some tangible information. Tangible information ....... that's an oxymoron isn't it? Regardless ....... what's needed is a man in the field to check things out and report back here. Report back to this thread directly as soon as something concrete is acquired.
Now, out of the shear goodness of my heart, I just might be able to take some time off of work to help everyone out. As this would benefit the MMO community as a whole I'm encouraging everyone to show support in the form of plane tickets and living expenses. You must realize the amount of time and effort that would go into something like this ....... it could take weeks ........ perhaps months. Your donations should reflect that.
Currently setting up a Paypal account and will relay the info as soon as possible. Oh ........ I'm also gonna need this too.
http://www.rosettastone.com/personal/languages/greek/level-1-2
and this ......... for the language lessons.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220312and anything else you might think would be of benefit .........

Halandri is in the exact same area as the address. Check Google map.

From Tasos' post of 06/20/2008 - http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=57888
We’re expecting some community members here in early-mid July, people who will be passing through or vacationing in Greece. These are people we’ve never met before that sent us emails on the occasion of their visit. We hope to be in a position to receive them properly; we really can’t plan that far ahead at this stage but we’ll do our best. Over the years we’ve received several visitors that just popped by, a recent one being Asp from the Lords of Death who
wrote a piece about Darkfalland another being Bakatron who
also wrote about his visit. So, if you really want to delve to the bottom of this mystery, Greece is an excellent vacation spot this time of year. Just pop on over, send them an email saying you'd like to stop by, and let us know what happens

Whoa! Troll has his knickers in a twist!
lol
Your source for Aventurine's address was an English language webpage that used the English language version of the address (ie Avenue).
Avenue in Greek is "Leoforus" so searching for Kifisias "Avenue" on a greek map will result in FAIL. That is why you failed to find the address.
Eulampios FTW!
Ok fine even if you want to say language changes from Greek to English, that address points to a house not a business.

A house next to a 6 lane motorway? And a very big house at that?
lol
You can't know that is a house from a blurry satelite image or that the nearby office buildings are not the true address. For all we know the address could be a business park with several businesses and buildings.
Oddly enough...I actually believe in them having an office. For me to believe my version of this tale...they would have to at least have a cover office. Technically....a house could be an office. I know a lot of American business men whom use their homes as an office. Regardless...no matter which version of the tale you choose to believe in...a cover office is required.
One thing is for sure. There is a lesson to be learned here...and that lesson is: Do not try to cheat gamers in the internet era. Of all the people on the planet...we're probably the only ones that would even bother doing this kind of research. Should there be a shred of evidence out there...we'd probably find it. Just look at the manhunts that the SWG fanbase go on. I truly pity the crooks in THIS industry....they should have stuck to gasoline or corporate fraud. Those people don't try so hard to catch you.
Us MMO gamers are drama whores. We get off on it.
So what if google points to a house.
There was a Fight Club headquarters in a house.

Lol thanks for the info, if I had the extra cash I would but uh being the American economy and all and us soon loosing air space as airports shut down and cut travel, it is going to be a bitch to travel soon. I would if I could otherwise.
Friction: Fair enough, you are right we don't know if it is a house or a business park, it is a damn small business space if it is, rent a space kinda deal lol, but anyway at least you guys help found out the address is real. The translation from English to Greek did it so kudos to you guys for that.
Address solved but what they are doing over there I'll still be investigating. And uh hope that little vacation donation thing works out for ya Hairysun xD.
There's far more evidence that this game doesn't exist than evidence that it does. Simple economics points towards it doesn't.
O simple economics huh?
Care to enlighten us all Jim Cramer?
-Jive
Good point and yes drama keeps us alive, with out what hell would we talk about? Nice axe there... Uh thx? I think? Ding lvl 35! Sweet... Grats... Guys this is like kinda boring don't ya think? PWned! Weeeeeeeeeee!
So ya that would be boring.
Also if they have 20+ employees where the hell do they park at that place! xD Ah shit, I do it cause I love guys, really...seriously!
Check the map location here (Aventurine's address) with the two old Razorwax webcam pics below. The same 6 lane motorway, the same patch of open ground with the same building across the street.
If you check out the view angle of the Parthenon below it is 100% consistent with the location of Aventurine's offices, which are Northerly to it.
Parthenon on the map here
Good find Friction but I do have some problems with the pics
First if it was the same area you see where there is that bridge that runs across just before the building that looks like a car dealership. That isn't there, next the width between the nothingness and that building is greater then what is shown in the webcam shot. Because of that angle that can't be the same location. There is a huge field on the other side and the pic shows a building much closer when there is a field that stretches across before that. So the address is real, but now with these new pics, is Aventurine really there?
EDIT: I thought it would be a good idea to explain on the pic as well.
Aww I love the Darkfall guys, it makes me giggle when ever i see the next crazy thread about the game, so if Darkfall ends up being all fake then at least its made me smile lol.
Maybe the 2005 date comes from the fact of a different host or renewal date? I don't know but that would kind of make sence.
EDIT: Problem with Google Earth is that the pics could be about 2 years old at least, I know that from pics of the UK, and my own home.
EDIT2: I just noticed that the road gets thinner on the other side in the google pics but not in the 'webcam' pics. Obviously not the same position as that building.
The webcam pics are from 2003. The satellite pic is obviously much later (google updated pics for my neck of the woods in 2008 for example). The footbridge was obviously built after the 2003 pics.
The building behind the field is WAY back in the background. Zoom out on the google map to see the building.
Here's the view angle.
Also notice that in the webcam pics you can see the roof of that building and the buildings all along that motorway are casting substantial shadows so the office building must be or a fairly substantial size too.
I agree not the same area.
The date created is for the domain itself when a brand new domain is created it gets this date and goes on for a couple years past the expiration date. If you renew a domain it will just update the the expiration date. The host doesn't matter for the domain since you can change the dns's of the domain to the new host. It makes one wonder if they even had a damn company site up when they announced Darkfall to begin with heh.

Yes that is a possibility that the foot bridge wasn't built till after the pics. Even with this is a fact, on my pic where I labeled this must be Aventurine would have to be the office then because of the angle of the shot. Would make more sense since that looks like an actual business, but then the address would be incorrect.
Admit it Friction you are having fun investigating all this xD. Brings some fun into those lame posting nights doesn't it?
