And before you say "well AC 2" Look at ac 2 this way, they had finished the xpac, and decided to go ahead and release to see if they could retain the numbers to support the game, they couldn't and they told you they where closing the game.... They did not lie, they just where relying on the xpac to much.

gotta raise the flag on that one. I followed LoTRO from it's MEO days over at Sierra, then at through various it's incarnations at Turbine. I was one of the first beta testers and never heard a darn thing about "knights of darkness'" other than as a guild name till now. If you can't link to it it never happened.
You forgot something about Blizzard though. Like any of the blizzard game, they won't anything until it is damn well ready. More importantly, they released the game with "EVERYTHING" they promise to avalible for the player base. PvP worked (although not perfectly balance and have few bug), PvE dungeon plenty, mostly bug free quest, and crafting implemented and functional. Although not perfect, most of the problem with WoW early on have to do more with the server than the game itself. The problem with so many people getting angry at Funcom is because like vanguard, they release a game that still play like beta and lying through there teeth about it just to sell more copy. Although I must concede that most company don't that the luxury of unlimited budget and time like blizzard do.

And I know there was more... just dont remember cause I quit it after 2 weeks... but the forums were as bad as any other... and if the server downtimes they had is considered as "nothing" than Age of Conan had a GOD-LIKE release... lol
Please AOC nuthugger, do not dare to compare this piece of a game to WOW. WOW will always be number one when you compare it to half rate games like this.
I was all behind this game, even before most of you knew anything about AOC. Played AO way back when Notum Wars(First AO expansion) came out, hell FUNCOM's AO was pretty much my first MMO. But you have to call it right down the middle on this one, AOC nor pretty much any other MMO can hold a candle to what WOW was able to pull off.
WOW was a huge sucess from the beggining and pretty much had everytyihg it promised to have at launch, AOC on the other hand?... lol I don't think so.
It looked good on paper, to bad games are not played on paper anymore.

WOW does not even come close to what AOC has. Does WOW have FFA PVP or seige warfare? WOW is already copying AOC by going to 80 levels just to try and match the sucess of AOC and they wont even come close to what AOC has to offer.
