i lol'ed when i read the notes for game update 5
$OE and the puppet devs along with the fanbois and fanbots claim this will fix crafting and make it fun again.
wrong to all of you.
crafting was just fine in the pre-cu even better we had this thing called decay that made it so people would have to keep seeing us crafters for new guns and swords. did some of us get greedy no we just knew how to work the market so we can get a few more credits off those fighting.
this new system sucks however. no decay means someone will make a gun for someone and never see them again. this didn't fix anything and $OE knows it.
what happen to the old damage types? weapons had those like heat stun and cold. no it wasn't some side damage that did some type of lame dot. that was the damage your weapon did meaning you would have to change weapons when fighting.
once again $OE shows that they cannot do anything right and would rather the nge be a card game rather then the world we once had with pre-cu swg.

You know what, even veteran renegades need to give credit for things well done (and this update do have lots of them), just in case you want others to even consider your inputs in the future. Your whole thread sound so childish and rabid, it's doesen't make any effect. Heck you even have not posted a link to the notes.

Everything in Star Wars Galaxies is beautiful. You have a great community, and types of content that just about every game lacks so much of.
The only thing I could ask for is things I just crave...such ass 2009 Graphics, more content, more space, seamless atmosphere
But that's nothing to make me THINK about quitting at all.
The NGE in my opinion at the time was a little weird, but when I look at the bigger picture -- the fact that it's a freaking Star Wars MMO -- then I see it as the same game. I've grown to love the NGE way more now.
There are still people like you who just won't shut up about a game they don't like, and it makes you look like a fool.

Do you know how long people have been predicting the "end" of this game? 2 words for you...STATION PASS. Its why SOE can buy up shitty games and still stay in buisness. They don't need 1 mil subs or 500k subs or even 100k subs for their games. give it a rest people. The game sucks but it not going anywhere any time soon.

please go back up to the gameplay forum as this forum is for those of us who know what the nge is the stupidest update to a game ever that cost $OE millions.
Um, I think you guys missed it but this is called the "SWG Veteran Refuge." It was set up specifically so that people who hated the NGE could get together and bitch about it.
If you want to talk about the joys of the NGE, may I suggest the official Sony Forum? I'm sure those guys would love to hear ACTUAL PLAYERS praising their work (as opposed to the Devs talking to each other.)
I have been part of this particular subforum since it was created. I bitched and/or praised NGE whenever I felt it was right to do.
He could have presented it better but let's not forget... HE'S RIGHT.
Nio decay and loot drops simply eliminate the need for crafting. { Mod Edit } The economy is inflated now beyong repair in this game. It doesn't matter, there aren't enough players to form a viable economy anyway.
This update really does nothing and how long have they been working on it again?

WoW has 10million people, and the community sucks
The reason why we have such a beautiful community at SWG is because it's not crowded with idiots!
I don't know what you're talking about in the first place, and I see a lot more people these days than I have in a long time. I have friends ingame, and I can easily make more. It's not like some planets are completely empty anymore.
It'd be great if you guys just quit it and actually TRIED the game for once again.
Right now I'm looking at your registration date here on mmorpg.com . You don't know squat dude, go back to your cave and we all gonna forget about all this thread.
While the values of Game Update 5 or lack thereof could be discussed a bit better especially by crafters - I think the registration date is a bit of a reach there, Distiler. Half the people running around here are using alt accounts due to bans and the like so that needs to be factored in.
And even if he or she just now registered - it doesn't mean that they haven't played the game even since launch. Heck, reg dates here mean squat. Look at mine...should be about 2 months earlier than yours. Been here quite a while but I certainly don't think I can weigh in as an authority on what the crafting community wanted or how they feel about these changes. Lets leave the reg date measure ups out of this because arguably there is some 12 year old kid out there with a born on date older than ours combined.
On a side note, I really can't argue with players and former players posting articles in the Refuge. We veer over into the current gameplay one a good bit. That being said, it should be known to everyone by now that it isn't exactly friendly ground for any pro-nge. Even if it appears that some of the more vocal posters of the past have moved on to something else.
sadly the devs over there do not hear anyone praising their work. all they get to hear are more people demanding that the game be rolled back to the pre-cu.

Tried it when it came out, tried it again about 6 or 7 months ago when I caved into one of their please come back, we are having a stockholder meeting and need to boost the active playing accounts numbers. SWG turned to complete and utter crap with the release of the NGE. You may enjoy your little shallow simple game, but the VAST majority of us do not and there will be no way in hell we come back. I even, finally, after 5 years deleted the game from my hard disc. Screw SOE and the sheep that continue to reward them.

I just don't expect what some of our fellow vets expect people to do , There is no viable alternative to SWG . While on my server today (2nd day in ) I ran across 6 people from the past ,That had logged in today for the first time since the onset of NGE ,
Everyone of them said the same thing . Nothing out there is worth playing ,they might as well play what's familiar.It's the sad reality of todays MMO . Most of us have been waiting and waiting for something , Even remotly close to SWG . The only thing is SWG (NGE) everything else is a WOW clone plain and simple . If I was interested in war , I wouldn't of quit DAOC 5 years ago.SO what do I have to look forward to ? nothing , Except maybe Fallen Earth , But how far off is that ? Noone knows.

There are some things that would make it better: changing the targeting system, tossing it in a lake, etc. But Sony has demonstrated again and again and again that they don't care what we think.
If you can tell me 3 things past "etc." that really make you hate the game and aren't easily counterable...then you have a reason. Please do tell
Also, answer this: If you hate the game so much, and out of the 3 years of NGE you have only tried it once...why the heck do you bother flaming about it INSIDE the SWG forums?

1. NO ONE WON --- the NGE is still here, SOE is still here --- everyone LOST on that front... that includes YOU --- you do not get it do you? You have won nothing... the NGE was a terrible implementation and design and no one has profitted from it. Not the fans, not the company and certainly not YOU.
2. Some of these changes are actually very good, they would have been even better years ago, and would have been welcomed in the pre-cu. I hated how in the Pre-cu, I always saw the same rifle, the same pistol the same power hammer etc being used when all the great skins were available. The negative part is, a lot of this SHOULD have been done long ago.
3. You always say you and 250k of your friends... with the nasty vitriolic things you spout, I sincerely doubt that most of that 250k would have anything to do you...

1. we have won we are going to see the nge shutdown this year along with other bs games that rip gamers off like age of CONan and warhammer and stargate worlds as that will come out half done and uses a lame level system. next year we will start to see good games again
why are we going to see good games? thanks to $OE failing with the nge thanks to funCON failing with age of CONan and thanks to gamers like myself and players like wildcat84 and our good friend jestor who fight the good fight and work to see gaming become good again. and by the end of the year you will see our win nge will be shutdown or we will get our pre-cu swg back and $OE will pay for their crimes when the lawsuit gets going.
2. none of the changes are good. i could careless what my weapon looks like as long as i can win. that is why i stuck with my knuckler and later on my saber. boohoo some star wars fanboi wants to use a dl44 and win. if he really wants that he can go play jedi knight on godmode.
3.anyone who hates the nge and anyone who wishes for gaming to get back on track to what we all loved about gaming namely sandbox titles along with seeing others like micro$oft and nintendo fail is my friend. and mark my words when 250k come back to pre-cu swg then we will see who gets thanked.
4.have fun playing your broken buggy game if you even want to call it that as a game is fun and the nge isn't fun. and i had a world we enjoyed pre-cu swg and we will get it back. be it sony running it bioware running it or emu.

I seriously doubt Soe will make a pre-cu server. I mean, isn't that like proving that you were wrong and instead of tweaking the current you take a step back? I doubt they will do that.

I also agree with Distiler. Do you have any specifics? What is it about update 5 that will bring about "The End," given none of the previous updates have done so?
It's easy to rant "SWG is teh suck! LOL" but that's done on every second thread on this forum. If you want your argument to have any meaning, be specific.
Like it or not, SWG will be around until the day a new official Star Wars MMO opens servers. It will not close shop one day sooner. You read it hear first.
