Sad to say I never heard of Warhammer Alliance before now. And after seeing this, I feel no need to bother with it now. This is the problem with fansites that think they are entitled ( the old STO.net was another case of this ).
Very nice reply from Jacobs, also. You can tell he wanted to go off, but he maintained his professionalism. Kudos to him for that.

This reminds me of that guy long ago that complainend to blizzard in beta phase i think. And some site wich i forgot made a comic out of him. Been so long
Penny Arcade.. Soulless Dragon.. I remember that when I was in beta.. It's not on the site anymore,t hough, for some reason..
Well Mark articulated that debate pretty well and I dub him the winner! The only critique I have is that he probably didn't need so many words to prove his point. Anyway, he is absolutely right and I look forward to hearing about the new information.

I have to agree. The very fact that Mark Jacobs responded the way he did does make me that a sore spot was hit and he went straight into defensive mode.
EA Mythic can release information in any way they wish since it's their game however I am noticing a weird trend. That is the constant talking about different aspects of the game. Yes that's good but really why all the production value when they simply could update the site with text and be done with it.
It is a lot of smoke and mirrors I feel to in the end say very little. Take the crafting videos that were put up a little while ago with Mark Jacob. I was so bored during it. I wanted to hear about the crafting. I honestly could have cared less about the reasoning behind it. Just what could be done and what couldn't be done. Yes or no to recipes. An actual video of the crafting process would have been useful but nothing even close to that. Even then it could have been been stated in a LOT fewer words. So on that front I think one does have an argument with how EA Mythic presents the little information they do put out (by making it seem it's bigger and more important then it really is in the end).

No recipes in WAR's crafting they try to reduce the grind you can experiment by mixing and matching ingredients 4 gathering skills 2 production skills.

When any company gets accused of pulling a Funcom right now they are gonna get pissed and I dont blame them. Thats exactly what BC did was try to put Mythic in the same light as the deception FC did with AoC. Mythic has been so open about there game and whats going on to talk about a "magic show" on there PR is the biggest load of crap.
Maybe Mythic has got the hype machine going but the fans of WAR have as much to do with that hype. We can be "fanboys" and we have PLENTY of information to direct people to on the game.

They are not going to create official forums. They send us to fansites. And when fansites get a mind of their own, they freak out. Sorry Mythic, you can't have it all!

Please. That's just dumb. Fansites will exist with or without official forums. WoW has official forums and there are plenty of WoW fansites out there with "minds of their own" and all. That's no excuse for admins of those fansites to act like jack asses. Your desperation to find ways to disparage Mythic is pretty pathetic.
That Mark Jacobs fellow made an attack on the WHA forums a while ago, as I recall, wherein he said that anyone who had an issue with the game was a troll. He seemed to generally minimalize anything that wasn't puritanical commentary. That was really quite telling, and enough to lose me as a customer, awesome game be damned.
WHA is a generally unfavorable site IMO, EXACTLY AS I KNEW IT WOULD BE MONTHS AGO. I am quite certain than a goodly amount of the posters there are folks from the company, and they bring a bias. Maybe there is more to this lack of official forum than people suggest. Now we have the operator of the site finally getting ticked off about something.
My bet is that there are several things that built up steam, some of which I mentioned above. Another factor probably has to do with the operators prohibition, not inclusion, from the beta because he runs a fansite. A fansite that I think plays host to several employees and is a fine tool to push hype. I've never heard of that kind of relationship before between a major fansite and the object/person(s) of idolization, it seems totally backwards.

I agree with you.
I think there are a couple of reasons why they don't create official forums, and none of them good (for us).

It's HIS (Browncoats) OWN WEBSITE. "Lay down the law" is not for the GUEST to do.

Your answer is dumb. It's true that fansites will exist with or eithout official forums, but that's not the point, the point is that they send us to the fansites, thinking that they will be an extension of Mythic, a bunch of fanbois kissing Mythic's ass.
But it seems that at least one has a mind of its own, they are not Mythic and they speak their voice, and now Mythic feels like that they don't have that right... But they do, it's Mythic that don't have the right to be pissed off.
The only thing they did is to show how weak they are, lowering themselves at the same level as the administrator of a fansite.

I can't help but think this sounds like wishful thinking. What's da matta? Your class get nerfed in DaoC? *sniffle*
lol so true.
Well, it looks like Mark Jacobs clearly dominated that little spat according to the majority of the mmorpg community: approximately 90% vs. 10%
Most of the 10% are probably just WoW or AoC fanboy trolls.

An actual video of the crafting process would have been useful but nothing even close to that. Even then it could have been been stated in a LOT fewer words. So on that front I think one does have an argument with how EA Mythic presents the little information they do put out (by making it seem it's bigger and more important then it really is in the end).
i can respond to your post so many different ways but it's kinda pointless . your skeptical and thats fine . i usually am also !
if you want to believe browncoat , Mark , myself or any one else ... go right ahead . when the NDA is lifted we will find out for sure who is right and who is wrong .

I can't wait for the NDA to be lifted...I'm just as excited to hear what they have to say as they are excited to tell the masses!

Wow, the fanboyism in this thread is so thick you could carve it with a knife.

Many part of Mj article sounded to me like a mention of whats appening in AoC.
