The game wont be delayed they will release fall as EA demands it. all be with 2/3rds less content all at the same price.
EA decided they could get 2 expansions out of that for more $$$

    2/3rds less content - lol.

    There are 6 races with 4 tiers each - so thats 24 areas. There were going to be 6 capitols - so 24 + 6 = 30. There are now only 2 capitols so 24 + 2 = 26.

26/30 = 86.6% recurring. But hey lets go all out and round down and call it 15% less content. Thats roughly 1/6th less content - not 2/3rds.

So each racial pairing will still have 4 tiers of fighting, its just a the very end they wont be able to sack each others cities - they will have to settle for Chaos/Empire city sacking.

Yes huge amounts of content are being cut - because the capital cities are huge. Its still not 2/3rds. I would rather have those 4 cities released later when they are done, than released part done with nothing to do when you capture them compared to the Chaos/Empire cities.

Obviously they have been given a fixed release date to aim for, and cant get the cities done in time.

They may delay the game if they get close to release and arent totally happy with where they are at, but they arent delaying the game to get the other 4 cities done, or the last 4 classes at a point they are happy with.

what I should of said is 6 capitols were said as part of the design, leaving just 2 now. that is 2/3rds of that particular content which was to be experience as put across to us all by heavy marketing media. Not game as a whole.

What I was interested in was the initial design which was put to us all. Including the classes being only 83.33 % of what they said.

If I was a dev company I would not many to make a MMO with the hateful attitude of the players these days.

Non MMO gamers show way more respect and appreciation then MMO players.  Just look at portal.  One gun that makes two holes, and 7 hours of play, that's it, and look how much love and respect the non-mmo community gave it.

Look at GTA IV  - pissed off a few fans by not having previous features, but still had overwhelming good respect and suport of fans.

Put yourself in a devs shoes, which crowd would you want to please.

Spore is going to be the new golden god of a game, if it was a MMO, it would ripped to shreds in 2 seconds.

So judge WAR when it is release.  This is not AoC, or HG:L.

We're still in beta...things get cut or phased in later. When they say "Alright -everything- is in the game" is when we should think "alright, that means no more cuts or putting stuff on hold".

    The mud is still wet.

So what i grapse is that while you can still PVP through all the tier and at the end of each tier 4 there is a fortress and with 1 city till the rest are in you have to control 2 of those. BUT because you cant sack the orc city till later, but can still easily sack the chaos city or w/e you dont want to play because you would feel like you are missing on out the game you have never played before?

How about try it then cast judgment, you can always come back later when it is in, prty much you are basing the assumtion that the only possible way you could have fun is if you can seige all the cities, what if that wasnt good , what if this 1 city focus on seigings works better? what if all 3 cities on each side is in but you can only seige 1 at a time, will you quite because you can seige all of them at each time but the system with the 1 seige works better because they happen more often ?

yeah wait and give ita try

Every game makes cuts, and if your buying WOTLK and followed wow in Beta (didnt even have to be in it) you know you are paying for things that they said would be in the first WOW

Really i ask if get all your information first, and try it. Fun is the thing that matters, im sure you would still have fun attacking a diff capital till yours is in since you are still RVring. try it then judge it. I would like to say from what iv heared from beta testers the current focus on the city is much better since the fights are focuses and you can sac things, anyway if i remember tonight in beta is suppose to be some kind of stress test aka first seige.

iv got alot of time on my hands for a few weeks. So its mainly been keeping up with WAR, posting in these forums, avoiding the heat,,waiting for my damn 4870 to get here, waiting for my vacation, chillings with friends, oh and i felt the need to watch deathnote series

Its rare im actually very impatient its more i hate non logical thinking or clearly misinformed or ignoring info in front of you, bothers the shit out of me. Yeah i got my reserves but iv been around the gaming block long enough to know when to give a game a chance atleast.

As a friend of mine says i have alot of faith for someone who is a athiest :P

I prob look like a crazy WAR fanboy with my avatars and such but its more or less im a huge 40k fan (Cant wait for dawn of war 2)

Let's dispel this myth right here - publishers can certainly be evil but most DEVs given a mandate to ship by a date certain are DEVs who have been given many soft deadlines already and failed to meet them.  DEV teams have to take responsibility to deliver what they are paid to deliver - publishers are not necessarily evil for getting tired of tossing money after development that is not progressing reasonably.  Believe me, if it is the case that WAR got a ship it or else date forced on them then that in and of itself is a huge indicator of development issues as the game is not meeting internal deadlines and progress goals.

Ask yourself this - ever drop your car in the shop expecting it back in X time, only to get told over and over they need more dollars and couple more days to get it done?  How long are you going to keep giving them money and time before you expect them to be professional and deliver.

There is a BIG difference between buy once play forever for free games like FPS and RPGs and an MMO.  DEVs are building a game they expect to charge people to play.  I will cut them slack and accept more 'flaws' if they eliminate the pay to play and issue the same free content and fixes updates that RPGs and FPS games do with NO subscriptions.

First I'd like to say that it is -not- that significant. we still have 20 classes, with 4 different tanks. 29/33 areas in the game. That's 83% of the classes and 88% of the areas. We still have city seiges, just a lesser amount FOR THE TIME BEING. Now...at the moment we don't even know how this will affect the game. If you -do- know...there's the NDA and you can't tell us. All of this is speculation by people who haven't ever played this game before. How about we wait for launch and give it a try then to decide how things are working out. Decide for yourself if the lack of these features AT THE MOMENT is -actually- gamebreaking. When you assume you make an ass out of u and me.

What is more significant than the acknowledgement, by this action, that a release date is more important than finishing the game as they conceived it?

Aside from that, I think it is significant content and even as I admit I am no expert on WAR features and such the DEVs considered it a pretty significant thing as well else they would have cut it long ago.  I mean we are not talking about superfolous cuts here - we are talking about 2/3 of the RvR 'arenas' and the main tank classes for two differant races - this is significant changes for a gme so close to live to go through.
