Yeah, I've noticed. it's funny on both sides, really. You have extreme fanbois who use the new Bioware mmo to rub salt in the wound, so to speak, of the "disgruntled refuges". On the other side, you have the extreme "refuges" who declare holy jihad on Bioware and their customers if Bioware doesn't make the game the way the "disgruntled" declare it should be made.
Both sides seem to forget that Bioware and SOE, KotOR and SWG, are two different devs and two different games. Neither has anything to do with the other in terms of the other as far as game mechanics, gameplay, etc. are concerned.
The only comparison between the two is which will have the bigger market share, and both share this concern with every other game on the market.

The majority of SWG Vets don't even post at this site? Why? We've moved on to other games. Yes, we're bitter towards SOE. We should be. We invested both time and money into it, only to have it taken from us. Name a video game that has ever been taken away from a consumer on a company whim. You think Rockstar is going to come to your home and replace your GTA 4 game with a different version? That's basically what SOE did. We literally can't play the game we purchased. Even though its there, in the box, we can't play it. We also had no say in the direction of the game. SOE hand picked yes men from the fan base and used that as their shield for the flames that came forth for it. They got our input from select players that would never say no, and if they did, they'd be replaced.
Think of it this way. You buy stock in a pharmecutical company. They announce after several months that they will be changing their business into a medical supply company. After the change, in the dead of night, they up and turn the business into a tobacco company. Thats how severe the changes were. We invested into it, and we were screwed. There isn't anything that can be done now, all we can do is boycott SOE products until we decide they have their act together(firing Smedley basically).
I digress however. If we choose to discuss what SOE is or isn't doing to mend the fence they destroyed, we have that right as human beings. Or should we just go out and kill people who don't share your opinion or the popular opinion?

It does happen that way for sure , I've commented myself on that very subject . I like to call it -Stigma we have one for sure , And it is a direct result of certain posters antics.

I've also just left three other threads with the same level of complaining about vets' complaining--ironically. In my experience there are usually only one or two of those threads active on any given evening lol.
Anyways, I'm not sure what class you think I believe I'm a part of. I don't feel particularly persecuted tbh--slightly defrauded a few years back maybe, but not persecuted. I also don't take "you need to stop talking about how bad SOE is" comments as persecution. Driving to work provides more persecution than this.
If they threatened me if I wouldn't stop using free speech, well then I'd feel persecuted, but that's never happened.

I've also just left three other threads with the same level of complaining about vets' complaining--ironically. In my experience there are usually only one or two of those threads active on any given evening lol.
Anyways, I'm not sure what class you think I believe I'm a part of. I don't feel particularly persecuted tbh--slightly defrauded a few years back maybe, but not persecuted. I also don't take "you need to stop talking about how bad SOE is" comments as persecution. Driving to work provides more persecution than this.
If they threatened me if I wouldn't stop using free speech, well then I'd feel persecuted, but that's never happened.
Freedom of expression is a good thing in my mind. I wouldn't want to silence anyone who currently enjoys SWG for example. Trying to silence people who disagree with you is kind of dictatorial isn't it?

The whiny threads are one thing. The continued infestation of actual threads about the game in the general boards, despite it being a clear violation of MMORPG.com's supposed terms of service, is another entirely. EVERY thread around here gets hijacked.

Also, man have you noticed the tremendous increase in "silence the vets" posts and comments since the announcement of the Bioware MMO? Really seems to have stirred up a hornets' nest of SOE/SWG defenders.
Yeah, I've noticed. it's funny on both sides, really. You have extreme fanbois who use the new Bioware mmo to rub salt in the wound, so to speak, of the "disgruntled refuges". On the other side, you have the extreme "refuges" who declare holy jihad on Bioware and their customers if Bioware doesn't make the game the way the "disgruntled" declare it should be made.
Both sides seem to forget that Bioware and SOE, KotOR and SWG, are two different devs and two different games. Neither has anything to do with the other in terms of the other as far as game mechanics, gameplay, etc. are concerned.
The only comparison between the two is which will have the bigger market share, and both share this concern with every other game on the market.
Tbh I was surprised by people picking a fight with Bioware already too. Unreasonable positions can be found on any side of a debate it seems 0_o.

I'd say you are wrong, and there's been a tremendous increase of people attacking vets for the sake of attacking them, whining about whining, and just a general shrillness to the NGE fans' tone.
