Not particularly looking forward to Warhammer, but I gotta agree...I wouldn't wish WoW's community to move any other MMO, not even Vanguard, that's how much I hate it lol.

    Lol

    Warhammer Online

Problem with the wowo scene is that its NOT  a community. I like to compare it to liviing Las Vegas.

IT's big and there its lots of sparkely stuff. This attracts tons of people to come in live. Problem is everyone came from different areas and only keep to their own. Makeing the so called community less cohesive.

Wow has tons of people but no little socializing.  People join a guild and then stick with thier own for the most part.  No reason for guilds to communicate. No reason for guilds to work together. In pve or PVP.  This si why DAOC was so successful. Because the whole server had to come together to figh the other side.

I bet that sounded really deep and philosophical in your head when you thought it up while playing WoW.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

WoW is and will continue be successful because it mostly gathers to casual players and not to kind of players who read and write to forums such as this. WoW does lack depth that games such as EVE online provide for gamers such as me. It also lacks depth in PvP and even its PvE is very one dimentional. It is still a very good game for mass market.

Instead of thinking that every game must appeal to mass market, you might think about game industry similar to movie makers. You have variety. Hollywood movies sell the most, but are often very shallow and superficial devoid of any meaningful or thoughtful content. Then you have smaller productions that tackle tougher issues and often have very good quality production, but very limited mass market appeal.

Just because something appeals to mass market does not mean that I like it.  In fact, often I do not. With MMOs I am happy that a game has enough subscribers to keep it financially stable

Number of posts expecting WAR to became similar mass market success as WoW are in my opinion unrealistic. PvP focused games never have had that kind of appeal. I hope that Mythic can pull something special with PvP to make it appealing as it would be a good thing for the genre in the long run, but I remain doubtful.  I expect WAR to start out as a typical over-hyped game that will be quickly be adopted by a  high number of people, but whether they pay for the additional months remains to be seen.

75% percent of us will not touch that expansion

and im not coming up with this percentage to sound smart

    http://www.amazon.com/Wrath-of-the-Lich-King-vs-Age-of-Reckoning/meters/A3E8KCX2260OJM#items

Our university here, 80% of students gamers have pre ordered wrath of the lich king. What does amazon have to prove? We're ready to buy wrath of the lich king expansion here nearby ebgames stores. Wrath of the lich king is already mega sellers here. Your an idiot.

WotLK will obviously sell very well, but us Warhammer folks don't really give a shit about WoW. If WotLK does well...great for Blizz. If it sucks...oh well. It's not going to affect us. We'll be too busy sieging to even notice.

Thats fine and im just saying be prepare for another record breaking sales of wow's next expansion. YOU heard from me first. As far as warhamer, its not going to dent wrath of the lich king's sale. warhammer is just a pvp game, its a totally different game then wow. enough said. Please i grow tired of people constantly saying wow will die or wow will decline because of this and that. Seriously? I suggest youi put some money in blizzard stock before the wrath of expansion comes out.

expect another record breaking sale of britney spears's next album, doesn't mean i will go out and buy it.

Exactly this 2 things: creativity and immersion are the things that WoW do not have and never will. Thats the reason he have so much subs

Where themepark games try to hide that they are copying WOW, games like Mortal Online and Darkfall make no attempt to hide their inspiration

I really dotn see why people still do wow killer or wow going down threads, its like saying aoc is not bugged. Only fanboys on crack do it.

If wotlk is half decent, wow will get a few mills again and players will go on playing for at leaset another 2 years. If they go on making expansions but dont do a real graphics update the game might loose some of its pop in a few years but even if it looses 5 millions it'll still be one of the biggest mmos.
