why? because IIRC someone from the mythic team said to be concerned about an open beta that is shorter then 2-3 weeks and limits their content... so IF they do it then by THEIR definition something is wrong...
So now i guess we have to wait for the next newsletter to see who's lying and if i'll cancel my CE preorder and go for a normal version of the game 1-2 months after release once i have time to read the forums...

1. Why did you buy the CE if you "don't give a damn" about all the lore-related goodies? It could have gone to someone who wanted it for that, which is the intended market.
2. OB and Head Start really have no monetary value. So you're right, the NE pre-order people didn't pay for it. But they shouldn't have to either.
3. If you no longer care for Mythic, don't buy the game. It means we won't have to deal with pricks like you in-game. I'm sure Mythic won't miss that one $15 a month too badly. Or, if you still want to play, then cancel your pre-order of the CE, and put one on the NE. Then you get your oh-so-precious thirty or forty bucks or whatever back, and still get your more-important-than-life OB and head start access.

I am spending my 80 bucks because I "Collect" it's that simple. And you are not just spending it on these two points the figure alone in the box is worth aobut $20 bucks and the artwork another $25 so the software with codes is about $35.00

If they limited open beta to only people that payed for CE, then wouldn't that make them a bad greedy company that is only having an open beta to scam people out of more money? That is how you would define a 'good' online gaming company, forcing everyone to pay for beta?
You really sound like a spoiled kid, upset that other people will get to play with 'your toy'. Your money will probably get you in a little sooner but its not giving you permanant exclusive access over everyone else. To think that it would is really your mistake. On another note, paying for beta access is really stupid.... your character will be deleted soon after, so whats the point? Should have bought the CE for the other stuff, or not at all.

Actually the art book is hard cover, so it's probably a 35-40 dollar value. Then the graphic novel is probably worth 20-25 dollars separately. And like you said the figure's probably worth about 20. So, for collectors, it's a superb value. Glad to see someone besides me who appreciates the CE for what it actually is

I looked through the various links provided and I am leaning towards taking back what I said earlier. It does look like a classic bait and switch due to a lot of misdirection with the wording which is quite shocking.
As for canceling the CE that may not be so simple as you proclaim it to be for some people and it may be a timely process.
I would venture to say that many people do not even know about this recent news. In short expect a lot of angry gamers in the coming days.

Cancel the CE and get the standard if all you wanted was the OB/HS. And think this way the NDA will be lifted soon and the beta testers who are allowed to go through everything can alleviate concerns.
I figure one main thing they may do as stated above is let everyone pre level to 40 and test out sieges and tier 4 if needed.

I looked through the various links provided and I am leaning towards taking back what I said earlier. It does look like a classic bait and switch due to a lot of misdirection with the wording which is quite shocking.
As for canceling the CE that may not be so simple as you proclaim it to be for some people and it may be a timely process.
I would venture to say that many people do not even know about this recent news. In short expect a lot of angry gamers in the coming days.

Cancel your damn CE pre-order, that way people who actually like WAR can get it, not the people who saw the CE as a ticket for a trial of the game. Hell, I'd love to have what the CE is giving away, not just the beta crap, i could care less, but hell, I've been a fan of Warhammer, never had a chance to play the table-top version, but i had friends who i could watch play, and read all the stuff about it.

@TAO- Its kind of funny. Your acting like the bully stole your lunch money and you cant get it back. The diffrence here is, you CAN get it back. Cancel the CE and get the standard if all you wanted was the OB/HS. By you keeping your CE (which I would assume you are or you wouldnt have made the comment that your willing to sell your tangible goodies) you either want the other bonus IG items and shouldnt be complaining (thoes are CE only) or your not smart enough to cancel your CE and get standard (or none at all if your that pissed). Either way your ranting and raving means nothing if you dont speak with your money, its that simple.
@hoplites. How are we going to be in for a suprise? The standard edition is NOT going to get the graphic novel, art book, or mini. The mini will NOT be reissued by GW. The SE will also not get all of the IG goodies the CE is getting. So please, explain to me how we are in for a suprise?

Boohoo you spent more money for a OB/HS that you are MORE THAN CAPABLE of canceling and getting a standard edition for less money and still getting the OB/HS. Stop saying you are getting screwed and get your money back. Its funny how so many people will bitch and moan and say they are getting screwed then not speak with there money.
The only thing I am going to blame Mythic for is not understanding how ignorant some people are. Some people need there hand held and every little detail explained to them before they understand. They cant think for themself anymore.
Now I will say this. If Mythic pulls the bullshit Funcom did by offering the OB through the CE or pre-order standard and THEN telling people they have to pay yet more money to Fileplanet to get in then people will be justified in there complaining. However if the OB is given through CE, SE pre-order OR Fileplanet then so be it.
Edit: I just looked again and unless I'm missing something GS took down all dates except for the ship date. Might mean something, might not.
