I'll at least try WAR; hell I'm a fan of the genre, so why not.  For folks like myself, if WAR fails we have a good game to come back to.  : )

Also, for me some of the best times in an MMO are during the initial release.  Great community, sense of having something unknown to explore, etc.  Although I didn't last long, LoTR was the last new MMO that did that for me.  AoC, amoung a few others, were just too borked.  EA, and I cant' believe I'm saying this, seems to have had a bit of patience and delayed WAR's release to patch a few things.  Here's to hoping!

i was in line with friends from my floor when BC came out.. I just don't think I want to do it again... 10 more levels on, making 90% of BC content useless.

the only thing I'm really looking foward to is the new Caverns of time instance with arthas, but I don't think its worth 50$.

and come back later when the price goes down? no matter what MMO you play, you miss a lot when you join late.

Quit wow, got bored of limited PvP, pre-ordered WAR.

  • DouhkDouhk Member Posts: 1,019

I'm gonna wait it out and compare WOTLK and WAR after it's gotten time to cool down after release to see which one I like more... I hoping WAR amazes me but I'm not going to expect much. I'm still enjoying WoW so I'll continue playing it, why not?

Chances are I'm going to leave soon after that anyhow. I have CO, MO, and other games on my eyes for next year.

Recently quit WoW again (been doing that on and off for 3 years).  70 rogue, 70 warrior, 70 pally, and 70 hunter, including dozens of lowbie alts.

I dont think people necessarily quit wow because of anotehr game but because they are getting tired of WoW....I know tis a shock to alot of you but the game isnt exactly difficult and some people do actually grow tired of playing their 15th alt to level 70.........IF players leave for Warhammer then it is probably a combination of trying a new game and getting tired of the old one....If players ahvent grown bored with wow yet then they will stay......

Though I am going to be playing WAR I don't see any reason why I should quit Wow anytime soon.  I like to play a variaty of games.  Plus with the track record of many of the recent mmo games I think be wise not to quit any game I am currently play just because the hype of another game.   Oh well my two cents.

  • Well then, WAR will have better PVP due to the fact that its realm versus realm which is like Battlefield but in the warhammer universe (and its not a FPS) Also there will be seige weapons and raiding the other races capital cities and capturing there leader and putting him on display in that race's capital.

Also there is very, very little grinding involved if you want. You can play the entire game just by PVPing. Also if you had a quest to say "kill 10 boars" if you already killed say 7 of those boars before hand, you will only need to kill 3 more boars to finish that quest.

Finally there is very little use for ganking because if you start killing other lower level players you get turned into a chicken

I took a break from WoW for 3 months and just went back, rerolled horde after 3 years of alliance (4x70 + 1x62). I'll probably try WAR for a while until WotLK has been out for a month and everyone has moved on from the initial zones and are in their mid 70s. I remember when TBC came out and hellfire was a lagfest of people trying to level, I won't be doing that again.

I'll probably try WAR to see how it goes, DE Sorceress, and definitley SGW when it comes out next year.

What I've decided on doing is I just started up my WoW account last night, and I'll play this until WAR I think. If WAR doesn't keep my interested, then I'm going back to FFXI. I love the game more then any other, I just get tired of farming <.<

But atleast the leveling isn't boring solo stuff like in WoW, which is why I get bored so fast.

I remember playing the Pencil and Paper version of Warhammer Fantasy when it first came out, I actually had a Dwarven Troll Slayer that had a phobia of trolls, I would freeze up when I saw them, but if they got within 3', I went berserk and got past the Phobia (GM had a real sense of Humor)

Also had written an Adventure where the dwarf king only child was lost at an outpost at the edge of the chaos lands,  the team sent out to find him, finds a journel at the fort saying they found a forgotten tunnel leading into the chaos land and they were going to investigate.  When the Adventures check out the tunnel and get past everything,  they find the lost dwarven capitol and it is still under siege after 4000 years and cannons are blazing against the chaos army.  Once the Adventures make it into the keep, they find that the king that sent them is from the line of the youngest child that was taken away with his mother and the line of the oldest child was not ruling the old dwarven capitol and these dwarfs had not forgotten the old crafting tech.  If they siege is broken, you have 2 lines to the throne, but in the end I had it set up where the old capitol decides the world had passed them by and they seal themselves off from the order lands so not to cause problems and would fight chaos from their own possition.

There was a lot of things you could do with this game.  I am looking forward to it

I never played that horrible sham of a game past the free trial and never will. It does absolutely nothing new, why should I waste my time on it?

Eh, was that about Wow or Warhammer?

Anyways, anything get boring sooner or later, most players that leaves wow dont do it cause they think someting else is better, they just think playing the same game for years get boring. The kind that loves wow but think something else will be better usually come back again after a few months.

It was directed at WoW. If I wanted better PvE I could have gone to EverQuest, if I wanted better PvP I could have just gone to DAoC, all the same systems. Only reason WoW really took off was because of how easy it was, sadly.

WAR will be easy to level also.....they want it that way because the most content is at 40 =)

Just a matter of taste than  i never followed the crowd about what people play.. both EQ and DAOC is good games.. and i have had my fun in them.

but judging a game because of what game is better on what aspect is a little wrong in my opinion..

I still have it  fun in wow, and i think and hope that having fun is still the main reason for playing games.

Been playing WoW off and on for years.  I left about a month ago and I'm not going back.  For the guy who said everyone would go back to WoW, you really are wrong.  I know a lot of folks that will never play that game again.

Pre-ordered WAR and looking forward to something new.

Anyone who's played DAoC and enjoyed the Massive battles that took place in that game with the sieges, RvR dungeons(Darkness Falls) and everything that tied into the RvR was so amazingly fun.  I miss it and cant wait for Warhammer because of that factor.  All the other stuff with the Tome of Knowledge, Tactics, Morale an everything else will just be icing on the cake.  Mythic knows how to make a great RvR game and Im sure War will be pretty successful cause of it.

I personally cant wait for it :)  I just need to get my computer all fixed and rdy to go.  Need to replace my water cooling with sufficient air cooling cause the cooler Ibuypower gave me was busted.

By the way, I dont reccomend Ibuypower to even my enemies(if I had any).  Their terrible terrible terrible...So bad they forced me to report them to the BBB and I won.  So sad...

I quit WoW a short while after Naxx came out(felt like I did everything the game had to offer). Then a year and a half later a buddy got me to play WoW again. New server, new character, same crap. I leveled 1-70 and was tired of the same beat ass quests(after hellfire it went downhill quick). I raided a fair bit started with a fresh raiding guild and did up to Hyjal. Took me 2 months to get bored and 4 months to quit.

I won't play that game ever again. They have shown me time and time again that they have no idea what they are doing and to say that I could probably go out and get a degree before they fix certain things would not be an understatment.

WAR has that log in and kill stuff to kill stuff feel of say an FPS. WoW never had that, it was always log in and get loot.

IF WAR doesn't pan out then I will try the agency, Kotor online, or maybe even AION.

This is what i sayd 3 months ago.. but funny enough, there is no outher game that gives me the Fun factor feeling i get in wow.. i think most games out there lacks comedy.

I also find no outher game with cartoonish graphics like this.. and i prefer cartoons anywhere, anytime... havent tried war yet, but im waiting.

If i want something realistic, than i surly dosn't need to play a game..
