It would seem that Obraik doesn't have anything to worry about.

Umm... you posted this as the game was coming off a month of free play for every former vet. During the summer.

Current players are telling me that there was in fact a rather large bump in players during that free month... followed by an almost immediete huge plumet in players again ne that free month was over.

I have no opinion about badgersmaker, but do have one about afk combat macro's or other forms of botting.

These are a curse to every MMO that has them. It is very ironic to see the same people defending AFK combat macros while flaming players who whine about drop rates.

AFK combat macro's = the silver platter. Get all your lootz and moniez while not even play the game! Cheaper then buying credits right?

    Bloody hypocrites!

Apart from the faster generation of credits, it also pollutes data that the devs get for feedback. Collections for example. If enough collections are completed in a given time , the devs think that the droprate is ok. They cant tell however how many of these items are looted by afk combat players. Why does this matter? Because these players use AFK combat macro's to avoid what they think is repetitive boring grind. Without the possible afk combat macro's, they might do something else. Which makes the completed loot collections in a given time a lot less. WIth as result that devs might take a look at it. Maybe even some afk combat macro users would jump on the whine bandwagon about droprates.

Afk combat macro users are worse then the professional whiners that moan about droprates all the time. At least the last ones are honest.

Nothing against BadgerSmaker but when you read "I was able to find people to play with and have a great time." you know the servers are empty.

Yeah... Not so much of an MMO when I can find more people on an FPS game server than in a supposed major hub city in an MMO.

Crickets in anchorhead, bestine, eisley, coronet.

Just close the game already, seriously. Put any remaining dev power in that game forward to the new sw mmo bioware is working on. That's what everyone wants anyway. Any remaining SWG players are just die-hard fans that don't care for any other MMO's on the market. There's probably 10 people at most that think SWG is still the greatest thing since sliced bread, and that's because they have some kind of deficiency.

How can you say such a thing?  Why would you want any of the folks involved in the current atrocity that is SWG to be involved in a new Star Wars game?  I say for LEC to keep funding SWG, and increase the funding enough to hire back many of the former developers, simply because that keeps them from infecting development teams working on games that I might be interested in.  SWG can only work as a fly strip if it is still going.  Once you remove that strip and let the flies go free, they will be able to mess up products that have potential.  Where they currently are, they are only able to do stuff to SWG, which is beyond the point of being susceptible to damage.  It would take some folks with talent to make it any worse.  Luckily for the current players, there is nobody with any talent anywhere neat the project.
