After three+ year shizzard still have no intention of adding anything new, since puppetts like Tom Chilton dont see any need for anything more because "...WOW is perfectly balanced pvp/pve game", according to the same {mod edit} Im curious is this true, are all players that enjoy a bit of pvp, satisfied with over 3 year ald AV, with nothing new, no new bg, same shitty av.
Im not talking about tower capturing etc... im talking about new BG, three+ year is 'nuf time even for retard to get some idea what and how to do it.

Battlegrounds in WoW now run like this...
AV
All players rush north / south and try kill boss as fast as possible. Any players asking for pvp inbetween usually gets dogs abuse and threats in RL. One reason why i have now cancelled this game for good.
warsong
To win, either Pally bubbles or resto druid that 6 players cant make a dent in its health stands and has flag until pally bubbles kill all attacking flag carrier
EOTS
Huh? does this actually exsist ?
Arathi basin
This is probably the most pathetic BG out, capture flags, hold them long enough then move on.
i usually cry playing this map.

Arenas is where to pvp people, here you will see very talented players knocking the shit outta each other, but wow isnt balanced. So if you go in as Rogue warrior, prepare to lose a lot
WoW has bad PvP content, it was never a pvp game. Lack of world PvP and only 4 instanced BGs and arena as endgame PvP after 4 years is really sad. Even FPS game have more maps than that lol. They have neglected PvP and people only put up with it because of lack of options. Only reason WoW is adding new PvP zone in WOTLK is to compete with WAR.
Well , they added Arenas , 3 small maps :P
But it seems that is not enough
Well why aren't they playing the beautiful PvP in Conan than with its innovative combat system?
And why did they leave DAoC( like me) to play PvP in Wow 4 years ago?
And I am not so convinced yet about WAR either...it could be good, it could be bad.
We'll see if WAR will walk like Paul M. talks.
But Wow people know what they already had and that was rather good in view of the recently published competition (to take your own words).
This is quite the exaggeration.
AV - Does anyone kill the boss anymore? As a horde player, we usually get SH Bunker, then IB bunker.. then there is a huge pvp battle at the bridge until we run them out of reinforcements. Occassionally we break past the bridge and get the N and S bunkers... but only very rarely do we get to kill Van. For a normal 40v40 fight, I usually rack up 250HK's. I dunno, somebody must be pvping and fighting, right? Yeah, anyone who fights mid-field is pretty much stupid and I'd tell them that. If you want to 'stay back' and pvp, then plop yourself in and guard Balinda/Galv. You either play offense, or defense... floating around the middle of the map is just useless, which is probably what you try to do.
WSG - Yeah, Restro druids are pretty effective, but only til you hit lvl 30 and get a mount. Paladins and Druids have no real advantage at 70 in battlegrounds. Rogues have sprint, Warlocks have Howl, mages have blink, warriors have intimidating shout..... everyone has their little 'gimmick' that gives them a short term advantage while carrying a flag.
AB - um.. so you cap a resource and leave? Have you ever noticed how the opposing team can um.. recapture what you just took? The whole point to AB is to capture AND HOLD 3 of the 5 resources. If all you are doing is capping something and then running away from it, you are doing nothing to help you team win.
I'm guessing since you've never done EotS that you don't even have the expansion or have a lvl 70 character. How can you comment on anything if you aren't playing with 95% of other players.
Your flame bait post asside, there is absolutely no truth in anything you've written.
Fact is that Battle Grounds in WoW have constantly been approving over time. Does that mean they are perfect? Nope. Does that mean that everyone enjoys them all the time? Nope, not at all. Personally, I'm not a fan of the BG's myself.
But the fact is that many people play them and have a great time. They can be a great way to gain neat PVP gear, great for guild events (huge premades are done guild wide over weekends to have fun in them) and are accessible to everyone and a good way to train up those pvp skills.
Eye of the Storm was added to the mix with BC and even I, again not a big BG girl, think it can be quite fun. In the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion we're going to see some new BG, PVP ideas come with Dragon Blight which has an Incredible amount of potential and shows that Blizzard continues to learn from what works and what doesn't.
Add Arena's into all this, tons of PVE content and you can clearly see that Blizzard has always tried to find a balance between those who want a healthy dose of PVP and PVE. You certainly cannot please everyone but I think Blizz gives it a decent shot.
Important Information regarding Posting and You
For your information, since you seem to be lacking any actual facts in your post, ALL of the current PvP content has been added in the last 3+ years because the game is only 3+ years old and none of it was in the game at release. That's right, everything. Here's a quick run down of what has been added in the last 3+ years for PvP in WoW.
4 Battlegrounds
6 Arena's (2v2, 3v3, 5v5) both competitive and non competitive.
A full blown PvP tourney server.
Many world PvP quests and zones with world PvP objectives.
A full PvP honor system and a revamp of that honor system.
Tons of PvP gear and various PvP sets per class.
Battlemasters.
And that doesn't even include all the things that will be added in the next expansion this fall.
Yeah, Blizzard has REALLY been lax about adding PvP content in the last 3+ years. This post is a joke.

4 Battlegrounds - The majority of people do AV AFK and only do the other 3 when they need badges of honor or its a holiday weekend.
6 Arenas - lol who cares? Arena is a joke and most people do not like them. Only a few elitist twitchers actually give a crap about Arena.
A full blown tourney server - Again whoop-dee-doo. The populaion on that server is not high further proving most people do not like pvp.
Many PvP quests and zones with PvP objectives - Like what? The BG dailies? The craptastic Hellfire Peninsula quest? How about Zangarmarsh or Terokkar Forest? No one does those for pvp. You walk in take over the objective and move to the next one. People rarely fight over them since it is better to wait for you opponent to leave the area and capture it while it is undefended. The objectives give PvE buffs and most raid guild take them over without any opposition so they can get the buff for raiding. Lets not forget Halaa, the place is a wasteland. There is no reason to PvP in that area. Big deal it has some rep turn ins that maybe 5 people on the server care about. You go in, kill the guards from the sky and thats it. You never have to fight another player.
A full PvP honor system and revamp of that honor system - It still sucks. It rewards time, not skill. You don't even have to play your character to get honor, wtf is the point then?
Tons of PvP gear and various PvP sets per class - Reskinned versions of PvE gear and as stated before takes no skill to get half these sets. The other half are rediculously tedius to get and you can get most of the pieces by never winning an arena match. Again, wtf is the point then?
Battlemasters - WTF? You are counting the NPCs you queue for BGs with as PvP content? They just stand there and let you enter BGs. I hope you were joking.
and that doesn't even include all the things that will be added in the next expansion this fall - Like what? One new BG, a couple Arena maps, and one PvP zone that is more PvE focussed in all reality. There will be incidental PvP sure, but when the objectives are all PvE related and you can bypass players to complete them, I wouldn't really call this a PvP zone. Lets not forget the rediculous tanks you get to drive around. Basically a ground version of the bombing runs. What a geat advancement!
Learn about the game you play before you try to impress anyone. PvP was an after thought, now Blizzard is trying to add PvP elements to a PvE game and it sucks. By all means keep playing WoW, I would hate to see you wasting space in a game I actually want to play.

Thanks for your opinion. What's your point? That you personally don't care for the large amount of PvP content that Blizzard has implemented? How is that even remotely relevant?
It's this simple... There isn't a point to pvp besides loot and after a while that gets old.... I've been testing Warhammer and what makes me like the game is a purpose to pvp besides loot but on the other hand I'd take everything from WoW Ui,Icons, combat smoothness,etc.. over Warhammer atm so give me RvR,PQ from Warhammer and everything else from WoW and I'd be a happy camper... Class wise I'd mix and match.

Please name another MMO that has as many different types of PvP content as WoW? Battlegrounds, Arenas, Tournament, World and the upcoming Siege. That's 5 different forms of PvP content and STILL it's not enough for you. Let's not kid ourselves here, no amount of PvP in WoW will EVER be good enough for you. Even non fanboys can see this.
You have to agree pappy, you included the NPCs that you talk to for the battlegrounds as content. your post did come off as completely fanboi trying to list off every PvP related thing in the game, even when most of them are so poorly implemented that they go completely unused.
Personally I like EoTS right now... WSG can be ok, but the current AV is just terrible when I think of the old version. But lets be honest, WoW PvP will always be secondary to its PvE and will thus never be well balanced or compare to the PvE as far as quality goes.
EDIT: after seeing your other post, I'll point out an older MMO with all those types of PVP. Lineage2. it as Arena PvP, world PvP, War PVP, Siege PvP, and tournament PvP. it replaces WoW's instanced PvP with in game politics and puts PvP ahead of PvE so its more quality. Even Guild wars has more PvP than WoW (AB, RA, HA, GvG, Comp missions, TA) and thats not even a real MMO.
so there ya go, named an MMO that currently has more types of PvP than WoW (sorry, WoW siege PvP isn't in game yet)

Thanks for your opinion. What's your point? That you personally don't care for the large amount of PvP content that Blizzard has implemented? How is that even remotely relevant?
My point is that the PvP in the game is a joke. Don't use that retarded "your opinion" retort either. You know it sucks. You in hellfire everyday doing awesome pvp? How about Halaa? You play all four BGs for fun regardless of the holiday weekend right? I bet you play hundreds of Arena matches each week and not just the minimum 10?
Get over yourself. You are just to afraid to try anything else or too stupid to realise there are better games out there. You feel secure playing your little popculture MMO because you want to feel important. The subscriptions are high because people are stupid and the game is uncomplicated. Everyone gets epics handed to them so they will keep paying the monthly fee. Open your eyes and see the fact Blizzard just wants your money. The lore is a joke, the game mechanics are a joke, and everything is a time sink.
{mod edit} WoW is a decent game, but thats it. They try to do everything at once and they dumb it down for the common idiot. I guess if you are one of those types of people I can understand why you are enjoying yourself. When people can earn gear and advance their character from either being AFK or losing every single match they play, there is something wrong. It is like communism. When trying harder than everyone else nets you little gain, why bother? Why not just AFK in AV and spend your time reading a book or watching a movie if it makes little difference.
My point is that the PvP in the game is a joke. Don't use that retarded "your opinion" retort either. You know it sucks.
No, I do not know it sucks. It's your opinion that it sucks and there's quite a few that participate in the various forms of PvP, so I'm not the only one who shares my opinion.
You in hellfire everyday doing awesome pvp? How about Halaa? You play all four BGs for fun regardless of the holiday weekend right? I bet you play hundreds of Arena matches each week and not just the minimum 10?
No, not everyday, just when I'm in the mood. I don't do anything every day. I raid some days. I quest some days. I do some BG's. I don't do Arena much because I'm not that good. If I'm near Halaa and it's being attacked or defended against, I join in. I do play all 4 BG's and yes if it's a weekend I'll play the one that gives me double XP, why wouldn't I do that, but if it's not the weekend, I'll usually join the queue for 3 of them and pick the first one that comes up.
Get over yourself. You are just to afraid to try anything else or too stupid to realise there are better games out there.
Afraid? Of what? That I will find something better? Why should I be afraid of that? I encourage that. I HOPE a game comes along that beats WoW. I have tried several MMO's prior to WoW and several since WoW has been released and they all have not matched up to WoW. Prior to WoW I played Earth and Beyond, Anarchy Online, DaOC and City of Heroes. Since WoW has been released I've played LoTRO, Guild Wars, City of Villians, EvE, Auto Assault and Tabula Rasa. I'm waiting for a buddy key for Conan, haven't got one yet and I'll try War when it is released too if I can get a buddy key.
You feel secure playing your little popculture MMO because you want to feel important.
You don't even know me. How could you possibly know why I like WoW?
The subscriptions are high because people are stupid and the game is uncomplicated.
Despite what millions of players, reviewers and even rival game developers say. Attack me all you want, it doesn't change anything. All I see is a very angry person.

Enjoy hiding behind your shell of the "nice guy". I really do not care if I come off as an asshole. I can tell exactly what type of person you are just from reading your posts. Do not try to act like you have so many complicated layers to your personality that I can not figure out who you are. You are a fanboi. Thats all there is too it. Whatever Blizzard says you buy into it. I am glad thousands of others enjoy the game like you do. Since the game as 10 million subs and according to you thousands of people enjoy it, that means at best 10% of the population actually enjoys the game.
Reviewers are not that smart, so using them as an example does nothing to defend your point. They can be bought off, convinced, or dumb just like anyone else. As for game developers they only agree that wow has alot of subs. No one says WoW is a great game because if it was so great, why are they trying to compete with it? They obviously can see its weaknesses and are trying to capitalize on it by making better games.
Bottom line WoW can have all the features they want. They are all bland and boring. They chose quantity over quality.
War PvP and siege PvP are very different. one is a War between 2 clans, fighting each other everywhere in the world where others outside the clan can't help... well, they can't help as much as if a war wasn't going on. Siege PvP is just that, you siege a castle, its not just destructible buildings, its breaking down the gate or wall of a castle, routing the defenders and becoming lord of the castle. Oh, and it has a 6th type of PvP, the Olympiad, where endgame players fight 1v1 to determine who will be the "Hero" of the class, only 1 hero for each class on the server.
Guild wars has a random arena, which puts 4 random people against 4 random people. In this arena everyone brings balanced builds, to heal themselves, damage, interupt ect. in the Team arenas you find pre-made teams that throw away balance for min-maxing. Still 4v4 but now you have classes that can't heal at all, but do their other jobs very very well.
Then you have Guild vs Guild. 8v8 with a few NPCs. the object is to either kill the enemy Guild lord, or kill everyone on the other team a few times. I guess you could say it is 8v8 Alterac vally. but its highly organized and you don't run past the other team.
HA is further different, with teams being pitted against each other in different objective based PvP, sometimes with more than just 2 teams, until they reach the top tier of it where they fight for the favor of the gods.
comp missions came in the first expansion, where Kurzicks and luxons fight over objectives. either taking a fort and killing the NPC boss in it (or defending said for till you win), or fighting over a mine for resources.
AB is an alliance battle, which pits 3 teams of 4 against another 3 teams of 4. its a bit like arathi basin, except each node gives some sort of advantage, like a few NPCs, or a rez orb to rez everyone around you, or a mini buff. as one side wins lots of ABs, their team takes more land, and pushes the other team back to their home base, so the map for AB varies based on who has been winning a lot.
And I never said Blizz hasn't added anything to WoW PvP. I said that your comments seemed terribly fanboi because you seemed to tout features that people don't count as content. NPCs that get you into an instance aren't content, they are just an instance portal. I enjoy SOME of the PvP in WoW, but your points don't hold much weight because they are far too baised. in addition you seem to miss most of the points other people are making. They aren't saying Blizz hasn't added anything, they are saying much of what has been added is broken or simply useless. pre-BC world PvP objectives (EPL, Silithus) promoted... no PvP. it was better to simply wait around till no one was there and then do the objectives, so it didn't encourage PvP. the same is true of many BC PvP objectives.
This is why people say WoW PvP is bad, it is made by people who are obviously PvE minded. these objectives rarely promote PvP, they just let you stop someone else from doing it by killing them. some parts are fun (I loved Halaa back in the day) but most of the content goes unused (zangamarsh towers).
Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.
In all fairness, yes, AV is getting old. They have made augmentations to AV over the years, but it's still somewhat old.
WSG is fun @ 19 or 29... after that, I wouldn't play WSG if I didn't want battle tokens.
EotS. I wouldn't play this map either, if I didn't need battle tokens from time to time.
AB can be fun, imho. I think it's more fun @ lower levels, though. @ 70, not so much.
...
To me, each zone has a level range associated with it. Why not continue that trend with BG's? I realize it's that way to some extent with WSG and AB, but why not add in at least 2-3 other BG's that would be based off of STV (one of the hottest areas for pvp @ lower levels), Ungoro Crater (another gank zone), and maybe Tanaris or something? Point being, there should be more BG's by now.
I know that the expansion is bringing some new twists. I know they are supposed to be more meaningful, on larger scales, and better assembled than what we saw in tBC (Nagrand, Hellfire, and Zangarmarsh).
I think that as PvE gets more instances/raid content, more levels to grind, more reputation to grind, more crafting schemes and mats to farm for, etc.,... PvP needs more 'content' too, in the way of additional BG's and mini-games (capture the flag, king of the hill, etc.,..).
I realize that Arena has been a big deal. And I know the market Blizz was going for here, and it's apparently paid off... for those folks. But instead of breaking the truly meaningful PVP up into these micro-matches. Why not go the other way and make the most meaningful PvP happen on a grander scale?
The best and most valuable PvP rewards come from Arenas. In a game that has 10,000,000+ subscribers... the micro-scale pvp matches @ 2v2/3v3/5v5 take center stage. I know many disagree, but I think that's the wrong way to go here. With all of the posts I have read that seem to be begging for a focus on 'open world pvp', I may not be alone. But why not create some open world pvp driven scenarios and provide the highest rewards to the individuals who take part in driving greater content for the masses?
To an onlooker in-game, Arenas = zero action. People queue up and stand around, waiting for their Arena matches to start. Then those players disappear for a while, then come back... wait some more, stand around. Yes, I've seen videos and yes I play in the Arena matches... but Arena does 'zero' for the community or general perception of what real pvp is like (could be like) in the game.
Why not create areas that people can flow in and out of pvp as they please? Not another instance. Not another bg or arena. But some open world areas that matter, with some scenarios that would have impact to races or factions or even to professions?
There needs to be more thought and investigation there, imho. At the end of the day, we could sit here and try to think of all of the ways pvp occurs in WoW... but BG's and Arena are all that really matter. They do get old. Some real wow needs to be brought to the pvp in WoW again.
Like the post said Vick...
Lack of options out there. Many PvPers I know quit WoW even with the lack of options tho because WoW PvP is so limited and are now waiting on WAR.
I didn't play Conan, didn't appeal to me from beta and was largely incomplete. Did you?
Many left DAOC hoping that WoW would implement some good massive PvP, it never happened.
WAR is promising got in beta will see if its good. But anything with more than 4 BGs, arena, some world PvP and good gameplay will blow WoW PvP to bits.
"WoW people" as you call them, have proven time and again they don't know what good PvP in MMOs entails. They have just made more instances, killed world PvP, made everything item centric and repetitive. The same 4 BGs and arenas have been around for so long it's boring the heck outta everyone. Instead of actually adding more PvP content they just upgrade all the gear you get so you have to grind on the same existing PvP content.
For endgame PvP that really matters
4 Battlegrounds
Arenas (you don't have to break them up really since you can compete in just one bracket to get all the gear you need) Non-competitive is not endgame it is just for practice and fun since there is no objectives to it
And yet, how much PvE content has been added. Let's just look at TBC. How many instances have been added so far? Anything more than 4 will blow the number of BGs away. Anything more than 8 will blow the number of total maps available for instanced PvP away.
Here's a quick rundown of what they did wrong:
World PvP pretty dead
No World PvP objectives
No PvP Progression
No point in taking cities
No siege
No good diverse availability of endgame PvP quests
No Massive PvP battles
Endgame PvP is mostly incidental or instanced
Gear centric model vs objective centric model of PvP
Repetitive PvP content in same 4 BGs and arenas
Just upgrading the gear periodically to make people play the same BGs/arenas
..................................................
If PvEwise the game added 8 dungeons in 4 years and made these dungeons playable in 5,10,20 man mode with a practice mode, and just upgraded the gear each time to tier 1-8. The PvErs will be so mad at the lack of content. Well this is the exact state of WoW PvP.
And yet, when it comes to PvP you keep defending their pathetic lack of content and try to strech it out by saying they have:
..... Battlemaster? WoW that's not content. That's like saying they added summoning stones as "PvE Content"
Arena? Trying to stretch out the same few maps in arena by mentioning the brackets? That's just sad.
Class PvP sets? They just add/update them so they don't have to add any new content.
I agree with you last part tho:
"Yeah, Blizzard has REALLY been lax about adding PvP content in the last 3+ years. "
I hope WAR takes WoW's PvPers away because competition is always good. See what happens when WAr is nigh, they start adding a new PvP zone and PvP content.
They had 4 years to actually add siege and world PvP, so why now? Because of competition.
Monopolies are never good, they make people lazy, and greedy and it's bad for the consumer as a whole.
Hopefully more MMOs will come out with good PvP models if WAR is successful and stay away from the repetitive item centric grindfest that has plagued most of the MMOs to date.
The setting of WoW is in the midst of a bloody war with 2 sides forced to form alliances because their very survival depends on it.............
...............and they best PvP they can come up with is everyone crowded around battlemasters waiting to get into 4 BGs and arenas. WoW!
Hey hey now, if you like throwing away your life doing battleground after battleground until you realize you're a stupid hamster in a wheel, then do what you're happy doing. In fact, you can go ahead and spread that argument to every MMO. "But everything you do is repetitive so lawl you suck!". Then you can go even further and say "I wake up every morning, damn that's so repetitive I don't wanna do that anymore." Well, that might take it a bit far, but never know. .
The point is not to bash WoW hamsters, but it is in fact to declare that if you're having fun then it's not repetitive. Yes, there's alot of people that are sick with WoW's sub-standard PvP. However they had fun at first (well most of us did) and it took each of us a different amount of time to realize it's a bunch of time-wasting carrot-on-a-stick bull. Some of us (judging by some of these posts) have yet to realize that, so they keep doing it. Let em be happy!
I wish WoW wasn't so gear-centered and I wish grinding wasn't the best way of obtaining that gear, but WoW is what it is and that's what it is and always will be. Personally the new BG and open-world zone in WotLK is pathetic in comparison to all the PvE junk they're adding in (which simply proves that WoW cares more about PvE than PvP) but maybe they'll be so balanced and super fun that no one will care.
In addition, arena is a different form of PvP that cannot be compared with open-world or even instanced PvP. In an arena you have specific rules that are more severe than in open-world or instanced PvP, such as "2v2". Also you can't use certain items and if you have the wrong partner (class and/or spec), you're going to get steamrolled. Just wanted to add that in to those who'd try to count is as "PvP". Technically it is "player vs. player" but...seems like a watered down version of it.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"
Order of the White Border.
Pretty sure pappy is going to defend this game until it physically wrongs him somehow.

Yep, this is the main reason why I cancelled WoW. They are raking in over 100 million dollars in revenue a month, and can't even keep the game fresh.
