I am very happy that I got my invite to CB, yesterday morning. So I started the torrent, I have now been downloading for a day and a half and I'm at 31%. WOW this is soooo slow. I'm using roadrunner turbo, wich is normally smokin fast so why am I getting 14 to 60k on avg download. I tried some of the tweaks for torrent but no help.

Lacks of seeders seems to be the main problem here.
use utorrent, i mean honestly its so slow because people are being greedy with upload. ITS YOUR OWN FAULT PEOPLE!
Took 2 days for me, leave it on during the day while your at work.
You get what you give, what does that mean I am uploading almost twice as fast as I'm downloading, so I'm not getting what I,m giving. Hell I would be happy with an even swap.
jeez, well at that rate, when I start downloading on the 15th with all the other open beta people I'll be lucky to play on the 20th *frown*.
Let's hope they are smart and the 15th is waaaay before open beta is supposed to begin because I guarantee that kabillions more people will be downloading with me at that point. Sigh..
I managed to download in about 12 hours...but my service provider has excellent download & upload rates. If your provider sucks wind your speed will suck wind even on a torrent. I seeded for half the day so I wasn't being greedy but im not about to burn all my upload on a torrent.
On the 15th I'm just going to start her up and let her run. I'm not even gonna try to play around with it.

Problem is some IPS provider while allowing a good amount of bandwith per month while downloading, only offering a fraction of that when you upload.
My package for example is 20go / month in download but only 5go in upload. 48 hours after having started downloading the client i noticed that i was uploading 7-8 times more than i was downloading, so i basicly turn OFF the upload to a maxmum of 5kb/sec.
I have no problem sharing, but MAN when i download at 15kb/sec and sharing what i have at 90 kb/sec i have a problem with that. I dont want to blow my monthly bandwith in the UP category just to download a freaking game.
it would be slow at first, but will speed up alot fast , more people the better.
Lets remember how torrents work.
The limiting bandwith is a horrible idea from the get go, even obama agrees and its just one more reason im voting for him.
As of the 15th... the NDA is lifted, I assume? Being an Open Beta and all, I would think that's the case, but can anyone confirm that?

The 15th is the day when you can put in your codes FOR open beta, not when it is or starting ect.
The 15 is not the lift of the NDA and its not the start date of Open Beta. The 15th is the start date to register for Open Beta using the live account system and I believe its the state date to download the client. Which could take a couple of days.
No official NDA lift date has been given..tho its suspected to be this week. Closed Beta has not ended yet, Open beta being only a week long will most likely happen a week to two weeks before the Launch date. The preview weekend for CE pre orders will happen shortly before OB and then HS after that.
From what I hear it takes a month to download the game.

Stop torrenting, open up the folder containing what you have so far and run the patch file.
When it asks for your log in, make it do a full file check and you'll download -all- missing files from the mythic servers directly.
Took me about 9 hours to download 8 gig that way.

I tried the suggestion where you only download the patch files but every time I run warpatch is says I'm missing a large number of files and to check the beta center for updates. Then it closes.
Is there another file I have to download to make it work?

Ah, they must have picked up on people downloading the whole game that way.
Guess they noticed their bandwidth being sucked up like nothing else, tough luck really. Try the other exe's and if it doesnt work, back to torrenting you go!
yes they did pick up on people downloading that way, and have put a stop to it in more then 1 way that i have heard.

i found this on VN boards posted by Cideous. I hope this can help some of you out.
1.) Uninstall UTorrent.
2.) Google and get "FlashGet". I am using 1.9.6.
3.) Install it and let it configure its windows connection.
4.) Drop Warbits on. You should be getting like .5kb per second up and download lol
5.) <The easy part> The 5th button over from the left is the "Properties" button. Click it.
6.) It pulls up 1 simple page with two tabs. General and Advanced. Click advanced.
7.) At the bottom there are two little boxes: Max up load and max download with little clicky arrows. Both boxes should say "unlimited" on both. If you have dsl with about 512 download then set the download at about 400. Set the upload at 20. Click ok and go back to the main page.
On the very bottom right VERY bottom right of the main page it will now list your current download and upload speed. Mine went from .5kb/sec to 350-450kb per sec down <I have 750kb/sec pipe so I set my down at 450kb/sec and 20kb/second up>. I went from a 1 year download to 11 hours. I already have got 18% done and should be done around midnight tonight.
And this was without ANY port forwarding or setting static IP BS that the guide said to do.
p.s. My son is also sitting right next to me on his rig playing Unreal Tournament 3 and I am still pegging 450kb/sec

if you are using utorrent or bittorrent make sure your network it running ok becuase i had to mess around with it running speed tests and other things and once i had got my network to say OK i shot up in speed..or try that guys
cause i was getting about 2kbs WTF yeah once i did that i am around 80kbs so much much better
