Funcom reveals first expansion pack for AoC

Funcom has revealed a teaser image for the first expansion pack for its MMO Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, which it expects to release in 2009.
The concept art shows three ninja-like warriors wearing green masks with a strongly oriental look. In the background are green banners decorated with dragons, and pagoda-like buildings.
Funcom refused to comment further on the image - but the prominent oriental stylings suggest that the expansion will take players to the land of Khitai, Conan author Robert E. Howard's version of China in the Hyborian Age.
The image will be officially released tomorrow.

Funcom: "We know our game is in a beta state, but we can promise a full game soon"
Players: "When and how?"
Funcom: " Once in 2009, and you just have to buy our new expansion"
Players: "What does it contain?"
Funcom: " All the thing we promised when AoC HA was released, pvp experience, DX10, battles with 300vs300 and the list go on, and now we have experienced that its the best to keep our promises"
Dreaming is ok, I guess...
Wonder which kool-aid drinker is gonna come in here defending Funcom for making an expansion for a game full of bugs and missing content.
Funcom the run is over, people don't want to buy your games anymore.
You say it like it’s the first time to happen, and we have no idea how far off the expansion will be, could be a year or two from now.
It is a little premature IMO to announce one.

Lets help funcom name their expansion.. I suggest
1. AOC: the missing pieces
2. AOC: the escape from bankruptcy
3. AOC: sucker bait
I'm sure we can all think of more names to help fc in its time of need.
I love MMOs, they all follow the same formula.
When in doubt, add ninjas.

id love any game with ninjas! hopefully when they release it they have guitars whaling in the backround when you fight the ninjas

I think the expansion will contain B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T.

they said it would be daft to build a castle in a swamp!
but i built it anways! it sank into the swamp.
so i built another one, that sank into the swamp.
the third one burned down then sank into the swamp.
but the fourth one stood strong!
(funcom is on their second castle i think)
I find it amusing how people on the official forums actually regard it as good news ... seems like there are only fanboys left in there
Why do you guys think nothing is getting done properly?!?
Because funcom, instead of fixing their game with the required resources, they leave an untalented live team to pick up the pieces while they already moved onto other projects. The new mmorpg The Secret World, The retail expansion, AND the graphical overhaul for Anarchy Online.
If they put all that on hold, kept the original dev team and let them fix the game first, then work on the other projects second, that would be good. But what just happened is they quit before finishing and left a few less talented people behind to take care of the rest. They have no sense of priorities or work ethic.
its like hiring someone to build you a house, and they took longer than said it would take, so instead of them finishing it, they left to go build another house for someone else.
I also am never buying another Funcom product again until i see some change in the company as a whole.
First a miracle has to happen to keep them in business.
Second who in their right mind would buy more garbage from Failcom? There's not a chance in hell that I will ever buy anything from F#$kcom again for any reason.
