The point is all of those things could have been static graphics and have no functionality at all, one wonders since they showed them for split seconds and nothing more than that.

LOL, AoC didn't hurt me at all. I was flamed all the time in the AoC for calling the devs bluff on Siege Combat and PvP before release. Now I'm enjoying the backlash

What are you reporting btw, the fact that I responding to a thread, openly expressed what I thought about the video and then clearly documented that I wanted to be proven wrong otherwise?
You seem to forget that correspondents have no position within mmorpg.com. We are volunteers that write articles about our game of choice. So what just cause I have a title now I can't post like you guys? That somehow I no longer have freedom of speech? Classic and if I wasn't in this position I suppose you'd have something else up your sleeve. I'm done here, as they say don't play in the water if it's dirty and it is beyond that with the scum in the pond.

I'm responding (and reporting) to what you posted. You're just in here to troll. If you can't find anything better to do, perhaps it's better if you step down from your position. I consider MMORPG.com to be very fair and reputable and your actions here are completely out of line. It will be a shame if they continue to allow you to troll like you have been but you have been reported nonetheless.

I realize you think you're taking the high road here but you're completely out of line. Your language and tactics are not only rude but border on abusive. All you need in any industry is to know people, how you think casino heist are pulled, it is worked from the inside. You know this guy, that guy knows this guy, and so on. Anyone can get anything they desire if they have the contacts.

You fans win today with a much more impressive video then I ever expected. I confess this as well.
But I am still skeptical that this small team has the resources, the knowledge, and the funds and everything else needed to actually produce a solid, smooth running game client. I hope to hell I am wrong, because it does look like a lot of fun, and I'd love to play a game that even delivered half of what it promises to bring to the table.
Welcome to the dark side, don't worry you're not the only one who's sceptical; DF fans are probably it's most harshest critics. And you are right the HD vid looks amazing compared to the youtube standard and high quality that most people watched.
My main problem with DF has to do with the direction the game took, it's this on again off again policy that Aventurine has. I would have liked if they went all out on the graphics and made them customized, there was no need in adding 2D objects and cutting textures when they could have just made the damn thing more customized; some textures look too blocky. But overall the world and scenary looks nice, half way decent but could have been phenomenal.
I am not a graphics whore by any means, the current stuff looks nice but it could have been phenomenal and not just good or okey.
Biggest worry is if they can put this all together and how it's going to work.
BTW I doubt the release is 2008, even though that's pretty much confirmed; I am well awere that they have a closed beta that has been going on since late 2006. I suspect 1 or 2nd quarter 2009 I made this prediction late 2007 and I am sticking by it.

The innuendoes that some flash and a vista cursor automatically make Aventurine cheats and really was made in Maya ? Yeah that is the way to construct a good conversation. Just like administrators on some game forums shouldn't officially be the representatives of the game.
