Fearing playing as a female character

Like many of you I will be pouncing on this title the 18th of this month. My Only concern right now (laugh if you must) is me playing a sorceress ….the female version. Reason being is that CGI trailer, she is hot full stop. Now my own personal rules dictate that I don’t play female characters in MMOs ( am male by the by…) as when I tried it in WoW, I got dodgy whispers form what I can only presume were pre- pubescent teens. So anyone else in the same boat? Shall I just ignore the perverts?

While I have never understood males who play females, I know it's a personal choice. My brother does it (mostly to annoy me I think.) Just use /ignore liberally. While there will always be 'nuts' and 'kiddies' I think WAR for the most part won't be the same as in other games. You could always try to 'dumb down' the beauty if you want. Throw some evil eyes in or a scar/burn. To push the 'kiddies' back a bit. Then you'll just get the real freaks.

No perverts here, if there are any perverts call your nearest mythic helpline and make sure you jot down the players name for further blockage.

    This is not a game.

I never usually do (roll female). These seem different though. Elegant and deadly in one package.

actually Ihave at least one guildmember who'sgoing to play a sorceress, simply because they arehot...

but then he's 17/18 and never actually had a gf...   (Maybe I should take him out to a nightclub, or maybe find hima real girl, with suidgy bits to play with...  or both, what do you think?)

lol, i think guys play as girls just cos they like looking at them! I've never played WAR or WoW but in SotNW the vast majority of the characters are female and thus very popular.

The contents of this post do not necessarily reflect the views of MMORPG.com and its management.

Play whatever you want. It´s your game and your account. Like 80% (taken from a program on Discovery about mmorpg´s) of the female characters you see in a game are dudes IRL anyway. I bet most people don´t care that much, as they are busy with killing each other most of the time lol.

I refused to play Fabio NE, or neanderthal human, or a midget in WOW. Never had a problem with prepubescent dorks. Then again I don't roleplay, and my in game dialect never led anyone to believe I was anything other than male. I'll be playing a Chosen as my first character, and possibly a witch elf alt. If anyone bugs you, just tell them to piss off.

I think it's potentially a lawsuit waiting to happen. Buy him a Maxim magazine or something.

I played L2 for years and the DEs posing for money (yes, I know it's a common enough act in any MMO with 'hawt chicks') left me scarred for life. *shrug*

Just ignore them if it happens, which it will (in any game).

If you're not female, I don't see why you'd be anything but rolling your eyes at how hopeless the online generation is.

I never understood how certain people can mistake reality with fanasty, especially with computer games,  I actually make a male and a female character, the reason i make a femal character is that i love a good kick-ass in your face type female, its got  nothing to do that i am a male, i am a pervert, etc.etc.etc....I think once you start thinking a little bit 'wierd' and freaky', its time to stop staring at the computer screen, and go out  to your local pub and have a few drinks.

I tell you wear the problem is

In Guild Wars we have a class called Paragon who wore skirts always.

So the choice was between me a male palying a female paragon character with skirts or male paragon character with skirts the latter more frightning one

Also many a time some classes seems to be more fit to a specific gender

I cant make male toons wearing skirts and nighty gowns

just make a macro that does "/reply This is an automated response, the player you are talking to is male and far too busy to bother with you. Should you wish to converse further, please be aware that your comments will be recorded and may be posted to a forum for the lulz"

should stop most of them, for anyone else there is always /ignore.

  • ValekrinValekrin Member UncommonPosts: 18

If you don't want the attention, I'd stick with the ole, "I'm really a guy, but if you're still interested, let's hook up!"  You'll probably get a few tells after that letting you know how sick you are, but the person will probably leave you alone soon after.  If he is still interested... well, now you've got a bigger problem :)

Lol, I like this idea. I do know the female BELVES in WoW got hit hard with it. 2 years ( I think) the horde had no decent toons to cyber with, then BANG along come the female blood elves. Was like shooting fish in a barrel!

I find it amusing that male players would find it hard to play a male character with some sort of skirt. If you look through history some of the hardest peoples and most successful armies wore some sort of skirt.

The Egyptians, the Romans, the Greeks, the Highland Scots, ect, ect, ect...

true but it didnt look like this

i think some guys ego takes a hit when you kill them with a female character..i guess thats what makes it enjoyable..i have never played a female character but i am considering playing a witch elf because the little boys will be too focused on my boobs and not my knife.

Why worry, the class comes in male or female. They brought this in a while back, the with elf is the only class that can be played female ONLY on the destruction side.

Make that female character. If any guy starts sending you flirtatious hints and suggestions without asking those basic questions first, he deserves to be the next Ceciliantas (google it for laughs and giggles if you've never heard of that whole affair before)

Oh... and remember to log it...

And if he has a girlfriend... make sure she gets the log...

Of course... if it turns out that he has a boyfriend... you might get in trouble...

I'm a big ol' fluffy carewolf. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Any gamer that thinks or assumes that an ingame female character = real life female, is extremely naive.

Once you hear  him/her talk on Ventrillo, then you can be sure. Sadly there are still guys out there pretending to be females and posting fake pics on forums, really sick. I knew plenty of male gamers that play female char's cause they don't like the looks of the male char's. They are honest about it and perfectly normal healthy people.

In my whole gaming career I was bothered maybe twice. And I actually met my boyfriend in a mmorpg ironically enough. He found out I'm a woman after 1 month or so of me being his classleader hehe.

Anyway, I don't think anyone needs to be worried they will get perma stalked for playing a female char in WAR!

Female characters are sure better to look at when playing, but I have never, and will never play a female character in an MMORPG...well...maybe...

THe only time i ever played a female character was when i rerolled on pvp server on wow with friends and we all did it so we can make the kicking of ass even more humiliating. Unfortunatly i still to this day feel a little uneasy playing one. Plus those creepy tells are really annoying and it happens a lot! Now i understand why women gamers roll male chracters. Less hassle.

Roll a green skin we grow from fungus and therefore tecnically have no genitals or maybe non functioning ones. Oh the orcs have man boobs though! WAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!

  • theDukeytheDukey Member UncommonPosts: 102

the only reason i ever play a female character is because they look cooler most of the time, simple as that!
