well if you are a male play a male char.. ask your wife or gf to play a female one and issue sorted.
When I first started playing mmo's I started a male hobbit druid in EQ. I played that character for 3.5 years and I got so sick of looking at that male hobbit butt running around that most of my characters are now female. I decided after EQ that if I'm going to spend months or years looking at a character's backside I wanted it to be cute. Simple as that.
well if you really arent comfortable enough with your own sexuality to stare at the same sex characters backside you can always scroll in to first person. honestly they dont roll female chars as guys for the eye candy they do it because they like getting hit on by lonely internet nerds =p and dont give me that "the male model wasnt viable crap" either cause the only forced female in game is witch elf and its not exactly a power class hehe you can go backstab 1-2 wizards down if you max out level for the tier with rr gear and then you get your face owned by the heavies hehe. im a man i like being a man so even in my online pretend worlds im still a man nuff said. and yup im not above making a female in a game blush so dont go complaining to me about how my tell turned you gay cause i didnt know you was a dude dude
The sorceress in this game seems to have that badass Blood Rayne feel to her. I think alot of people will play it just because it's got the looks and style that is fun for anyone to see on screen.

Name your character 'Imaguy' or 'Imaman'.
Should that not get through, just reply to any tells honestly with 'I'm a guy playing a female character'.
It's not like it's anything unusual for guys to play female characters in MMOs, now is it?
I normally don't play female characters if the male characters are rendered well. Having said that, I sometimes have alts as famale characters. In any case, I've never ever had a dodgy shout or whisper. So many men have female characters (think like playing a tomb raider game - doesn't mean anything) that it should never be assumed that a person behind a female character is a man.
If they do just tell them or ignore them. worse comes to worse, block them.

If you ever find yourself in a prison situation, having experience as a woman could come in handy.
I just look at it this way, if I am going to spend 100's of hours staring at the backend of this character, I would much rather it be a female than a males....
One of my guildiesjust told me he's rolling a femalecharacter cos hewants a nice ass to look at while he's playing...

I am a female in RL and when I play some classes, I roll a male. I don't get hit on by men young enough to be my sons and the armour just plain looks better on a male toon.

No but I still find it strange but whatever floats their boats. Just like when I visited NY City and saw the creatures in Greenwich Village. Thought that was strange also but if it makes them happy ...

I almost always play female toons and in my 4 years of MMO experience I can count the times I've been "hit on" on one hand.
why would playing a female in war be any different than other mmorpgs.....lots of immature people everywhere
My hubby has been playing female characters since UO. I have understood his choice because he prefers to see female from behind when in mmo's rather than a male butt jiggling as he runs.
He's also a rabid Laura Croft fan too.
Yeah it's always funny to me in these threads...why I read them still I don't know, but it's funny to me that all of the kids who put so much importance on the issue if you asked them "Did you ever play Tomb Raider" they would all say yes.
So, which is it then? You wonder why people play as female if they're not female, yet you would play a game like Tomb Raider? Maybe you folks can see the connection I'm making here maybe not, but I'll spell it out:
"Because it doesn't matter, it's just a video game, nothing more nothing less. If you put any more on this subject than that, you're thinking about it too hard."
Play what you like, its' the ones that worry about what someone else plays that need checking into imho.

A blog I wrote. Only 2 people were against the idea of playing female characters. I say do it and dont worry about it.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
I play female characters quite alot ... the mainreason is you seem to get in groups etc much easier ,plus it can be a lot of fun pretending your a female, as another poster mentioned nobody complains if a guy is playing Tomb raider or Heavenly Sword do they ? . Its just games no one knows who you are, its whatever floats your boat.
Just too add , I'm happily married and old enought most peoples Grandad on this forum !
Well ... we could always ask Mythic to come up with some phallus shaped trophy which those male/girly players can have dangling from the middle of their belts. To flag yourself 'male' so to speak :P

1. A male player at character creation, going "oh yeah, nice lips on that face, nice ass, height..... yah shes hot" *Submit*
2. A male player spending the same amount of time and effort trying to make a "good looking" dude.
Not that there is anything wrong with gay or lesbian players (known a few females who played male toons), but if you're a phobic and guys playing girls wigs you out, might check yourself to see if you're not the queer one.
