People like Aragon and Javac dont understand that this is not a matter of, do you like realistic or caricature like graphics, this is a matter of solid art style that translate in a "beliveable" game world.
Darkfall is by no means realistic ( check the weapons, the black knight, the human with ultra shinning armor ), so I cant understand why people are bashing Warhammer art style.
The main issue is, Darkfall is trying to has everything, from cartoony npcs and weapons to pseudo realistic grass, it is trying to have it all from WoW to RYL to AOC, and that is resulting in a complete messed up style without originality, where some people think it is cartoony and some think it is realistic. Check the weapons, they go from a "life like" weapon to a cartoony silly hammer in a second.
A MMO can improve and Darkfall can improve in this aspect aswell, so, why not talk about it?
Again, this is not a question of shaders, realistic or not realistic, solid art style doesnt mean realist or caricate, it is just a definition for a style that matches from NPCS, to landscapes, including weapons, races etc.
Sorry to say, but Warhammer online has a much more solid art style and Age of Conan, Gears of War, XIII and Bioshock also have a much more solid art style than Darkfall, it doesnt matter if it is realistic or if it is a caricature.

IMO Darkfalls draw is that they are trying a new style of gameplay. They're character design and the mishmash of cartoony and realistic is kind of lame but not horridly so. If the gameplay is good enough to compensate it, somethings are cool, the boats like nice, I just don't like the orc armors really.

Yes we been talking about not agreeing with you this whole thread. We also mention why we not agree. This is something you seem to have a hard time accepting.

It's a matter of taste and it seems to me Darkfall have alot of followers liking what they see.
I've seen many of your post and they all say the same thing. Simly put your saying people are moronic or idiotic for liking DarkFalls Art. Well I like it thats my point of view. I like it better than AoC, Warhammer online, and Aion. If you can do better by all means put in some resume's with a portfolio of your work to some of these gamming companies and make a difference that way. Telling people they can't like what they like for (insert reason here) is pretty lame. I personaly like that the Art is diverse giving every area a different feeling. It's a combination of very talented artists working together to create DarkFall and no not all artist have the same style. Warhammer has very good art work Warhammer online does not imho.
That is my opinion and you can not change it because it's just not my taste. I for one don't overly enjoy the anime style art in general. There tends to be alot less detail in them from my perspective. You may see or feel otherwise buy again that is your point of view not mine. I can not change your mind any more than you can change mine as far as likes and dislikes. Talking down to people that enjoy DarkFalls Diverse Art style isn't constructive in the least bit so what exactly is your point? No it isn'r Consistant so what? It's Diverse and I enjoy that. Should they have gone the route of generated terrain and shading which the majority of the companies like to do? They took a group of talented artists and had them do the entire world of Darkfall by hand. Every blade of grase, every cloud, everything and you want to bash people that enjoy this?
I'm sorry that doesn't make alot of sense to me. If you are a Art lover then enjoy the art work DarkFall has if you do not then move on and find something else to admire. It's just that simple really isn't it?
I and others enjoy this Diversified Style where each area can give a different feeling instead of feeling Generic.

IMO Darkfalls draw is that they are trying a new style of gameplay. They're character design and the mishmash of cartoony and realistic is kind of lame but not horridly so. If the gameplay is good enough to compensate it, somethings are cool, the boats like nice, I just don't like the orc armors really.
