I understand exactly what you are saying but also understand what the OP is saying i mean i have no intention of rolling Order, why should i have to be forced to? well not forced but yeah you know what i mean.

It does suck that this is happening but like so many others have said this was bound to happen and i hope they fix it soon or else there will be a lot of disgruntled players especially when we will be paying for a product we want maximum game time not Maximum Que time. But personally i don't know how they are gonna fix this? What can they do really.

I'm not sure what the server caps are but they are holding them lower so they can get the headstarts spread out over the servers.

You gotta know (us) headstarts are final beta and server stress testers.  3 different rounds of rollouts!

One thing you might try is Oceanic servers the lower population as the time difference helps for most US regular play hours and then on weekends/ days off ( sick days, *cough) you can stay up late or get up early and have a well populated server playing with those M8s.

When I rolled last night 2am pct pop was high Dest - med Order

When I logged in this afternoon pops were low on both

It worked for me but then again I'm Order and West Coast USA

I would like to state that in no way shape or form that anything I receive from SOE influences my opinion about SWG or their company. I’m pretty much a typical average player enjoying the game.

Imagine a group of 30 kids on a field wanting to play dodgeball, 20 of the kids want to be on team A due to the fact that team A has cooler uniforms than team B. Now imagine your the supervisor for this mess, you know you can't run a game where it's 20 vs 10. So what do you do? Allow the 20-10 fiasco? Or do you make 5 of the kids go over to the B team to even things up and make the game funner for all. Then 25 people get to play the team they really want and 5 have to suck it up. It's all just a game and you need to try to please as many people as you can, knowing you'll never please everybody.

Giving 83.3% of your player base exactly what they want and 16.7% get kind of what they wanted isn't so bad is it? Least they get to play. And if anyone's thinking that those kids aren't paying customers, like hell, parent's pay big bucks nationwide to allow their kids to participate in sports. And these same choices are made in all of them.

What would you do? The obvious answer would be to get team B cooler uniforms, your still bound to end up with imbalances sometimes, but it hopefully won't be as severe or as common as the imbalances in WAR are now. The devs aren't idiots, give them time to work it out and fix it. In the meanwhile, think of what you would do if you were supervising those 30 kids, and try to act like an adult about the whole thing.

This attitude of entitlement that's so common nowadays is getting old. It's even gotten touched on by Yahtzee in his AoC review, for those of you that actually watch ZP. Give it time and see what happens, I wanted to play Destruction myself, but seeing how things are going now I'm glad I changed my mind to Order not that long ago. When you win a 20-10 dodgeball game, what did you really accomplish? However, if you win when your part of that 10. Now thats something to brag about.

lolll..nice.. Or you could be an ASS and just make the teams 10 vs 10 and tell the other kids to go somewhere else and play.. but thats bad for business , I know..lol

Well, at least tommarow they will open a bunch more servers, and raise the server cap.  I'm planning on rolling Order, and look for a relatively empty server so hopefully I won't have to bother with a long queue tommarow morning, but I'm not niave enough to believe that I might not get stuck in a queue or two.  At least the largest problem with the launch so far is its popularity and not game breaking bugs/crashes etc.  I can't wait to create my Witch Hunter and slaughter some Sorcerers/Magus/Zealots/DoKs.  I think I might start a SH, SM, and Archmage.

Destro has some pretty cool looking classes, but after playing both sides, I actually enjoy a few of the Order classes rather then their Destro counterparts.  Also I enjoy being the underdog.  Hopefully I can rally my allies to slaughter some Chaos mutated ass.

Probably a very unpopular idea on this board, but when this was the issue in Planetside they basically solved it by giving xp gain incentives to the underdogs, and making sure that it was pretty dynamic. So for example if destro was outnumbering order by 4:1 then maybe order would have a 4% increase in xp (just pulling out convienint numbers, these aren't suggestions for actual numbers) as it went down to 3:1 a 3% increase etc.. until when/if populations were balanced there would be no xp incentive. I think it worked pretty well for that game, and it doesn't "force" you to play order, although for those people whom count xp gain as a large enough incentive they'll convert.

this wouldnt work simply because pvp is tiered in this game.. so if order gets more xp it means they will generally level faster while some people in destruction are continually falling behind because of queue lines and scenario waits etc... It gives order too much of an advantage and can uneven pvp in later tiers..

I think they could give like a health buff to the side with less people and base it off of the ratio, with the max being say a 25% increase in health for severe situations like low vs high server pops..

I guess I lucked out as I generally find Order classes more appealing in terms of how the classes play.  Other than the shaman class, I've thought that most of Dest classes weren't quite as fun or well constructed as their mirrors.

Look wise, Dest does have a little more variety.  Gameplay is where it's at for this game though, and I'll take a dwarf over some badass looking orc if I'm more intune with how the class plays.

its going to be interesting to see. I know im rolling order, along with my guild (in this case its good to be in a small one) so from what ive seen I know I wont have much problems with queue. during open beta, queues were on both sides since servers were full. to many people want to roll destro because their classes look cool or are "evil". Just means more targets for me!

    Playing: Not much actively.
Games played: to many to list, been playing MMO's since 2001

To have a PREorder, you would have to have sold to a customer.

    Negative.

Either way you look at it those copies have been sold.  They may not be in the hands of a gamer but the stores had to buy them to receive them.

Sounds like fuzzy fanboy logic, in my opinion.

Oh so now what?  Your going to say the store was "given" the copies on some honor policy?  Look at it however you want, money was transfer and it is in Mythics pockets.  If you don't like it the WoW boards are over -------->.

Don't be such a tool. Sony tried to play this game with the PS3, saying "oh, so many shipped!" and yet they were all sitting on shelves in the store because people weren't buying them, they were all buying the Wii instead, which retailers couldn't keep in stock. Who won in that little showdown, Nintendo or Sony? Hint: it wasn't Sony.

No matter who is doing it, whenever someone says "X number of copies shipped" they are using marketing spin to generate hype for their product. If you fall for this marketing ploy, shame on you. And callingme a WoW fan just makes you retarded. FYI I haven't touched WoW since the month BC came out, and I will not be purchasing WOTLK.
