TBC completely ruined WoW imo. Gone are the days of old where I used to enjoy rocking wsg with my zin'rokh (which may I add felt like a massive achievement because it took me about 2months of raiding zg to get) and other low level epics, because nowdays I get flattened by anyone who wields pvp gear when I take my raiding gear to pvp. Arena was a disaster, I couldn't play with my mate because we had a bad arena class setup. The only time I found myself logging on was to talk to my rl friends and guildmates.

I don't regret playing WoW though as I did have alot of good times back in the day but I kinda wished I never bothered with TBC. It's clear they are trying to appeal to the casual gamer because thats where the money is.

For me the game got better.

It got better since it opened up so many new things that I could do.

The 5-man Normal/Heroic dungeons meant that I could have a lot of different dungeons available to me. The fact that most of the Outland Dungeons have many "wings" (Auchindoun, Coilfang Reservoir, Tempest Keep etc.) also mean that I can do a lot of different things in areas that are not always the same.

PvP is also more open for me now that the previous situation of Raiders being best has been rectified. It was a bit frustrating in Standard WoW that those who could play the big 40 man Raids had equipment that meant they would also dominate the battlegrounds. With the new and improved PvP gear there is a possibility of competing there even though you don't necessarily have any ambition of Raiding.

I think Crafting is a bit of mixed bag though. I would prefer for more items to be BoE rather than BoP. I know this would mean they could be sold on AH and traded between Guild Members, but I really don't see that as a huge problem. When my friend the Shadow Priest helps my Frost Mage gathering the stuff he needs for his Frozen Shadoweave Robe, it would be cool if you could make one more as a thanks for the help.

So, it's evil to want to make money?

    Groovy.

I don't think the TBC ruined the game at all.  For some it didn't fit what they wanted to see happen in the game and there's nothing that could be done about that.  The vast majority of the community wanted more access to higher level content that didn't require 40 man groups to run.  TBC completely obliterated that and in the process added some fun new dungeons to the mix.  My biggest disappointment in the game was the huge expansion in the amount of grinding the game now requires.  I didn't like grinding Timbermaw and AD rep but I did it none the less.  When i finally saw how much more grinding the game required I started to burn out and eventually left the game.  For PvE'ers this game cannot be beaten.  I think it has by far the best pve system of any game on the market and will have for a long time.  It doesn't satisfy my personal tastes anymore but nobody can argue that this game is a fantastic PvE game.  I don't know that there is better or that there will be better for a very long time.

Theres only 3 things I dont like about the BC:

1- copy and paste of half the models and textures in the game. Seems to be something Blizzard are going to do with WOTLK judging by the videos and screenshots.

2- poor implentation of the Arena and the World PvP objectives, Arena looks like it will continue to be a crap in the expansion, and as for World PvP Ill wait and see how the new objectives they are adding and the new PvP zone pans out.

3- All the old dungeons and areas are now desolate. Which is most likely going to happen to Outland in WOTLK. I think that is just the fate of this type of game.

Stupid thread for something that has been discussed a zillion times already.
TBC Wow = 8.5 / Old Wow = 7.5 (in context of todays standards).
I hope WotLK will be 9.0  tx to the incredible PvP action seen in Lake Winter in game videos and the new 10/25 men Raid options.

1 PVP zone, 1 hero class, level cap to 80, same old gear grind, +10 man raids for 1 tier lower then max on gear sets.  That my friends is what I call too little, and over 4 years? way too damn late.  WoW only needs to add a good pvp system and get rid of the Gear grind that they created with TBC and it wouldve been a great game.  Its too much of a Time Sync...you play for hours to get gear that becomes useless with the next expansion and most of the tradeskills are useless. No thanks.

If quantity is your biggest problem, then howmuch would be enough? Howmany new classes, howmany new dungeons, howmany new battlegrounds, howmany new things would be enough for you and "your" people?

I don't get the part about creating a gear grind in TBC, gear grind was there from the beginning and it is basicly the backbone of WoW, can that still count as an argument?

Creating a good PVP system? Yes, that would suit me to because I like PVP, but it would just make a great game better.

Tradeskills are usefull, for making money, and you get some epics in the end.

You people? What do you mean you people? (lol Tropic Thunder)  Anyway.. I like the amount of content they have provided. I HATE the gear grind. I HATE the same boring classes for 4 years.  After 4 years I want at least 4 new classes.  THey dont have to be HERO classes, i understand releasing 1 hero class at a time but Everyone is bored of the same classes.  And lets face it, the entire game really happends at 70 now.  So basically 1-69 is basically useless..people dont really group anymore, if they do its every once in a while on prime time servers. all the content that Blizzard gave us is now flown through with the +20% experiance increase post level 20.  They should have just allowed the Capped players to type /endgame on the new character and take them all the way to level 55 which is the same as their new hero class.  The game was not all about gear grinding..it was about PVE instances, raids against other towns etc.  They never got the hint about giving us a better pvp system and they certainly did not get the hint about the atrocious gear grind.

You people? I mean you people from the underground WoW resistance movement. It's mostly different factions of WoW "veterans" who seek guidance and meaning after burning out and no place better than a warm and cozy bosom of familiar hate and disappointment.

My studies have shown that there are 5 major factions:

    Graphics

    Gear

    Grind

    PVP

    Content

Most of the cells work independently, but in times of great distress, like the upcoming return of Arthas, some factions unite under the common goal, to fight the Evil that is WoW and lesser evil that is Blizzard.

It is quite interesting seeing how the strongest alliance as of late is that between PVP and Gear cells, but it isn't really much of a surprise seeing how those two are to be intimately intertwined in the near future, Content and Grind cells are known to occasionally help the new formed alliance but their inherent opposite goals always keep them from forming a true bond.

Graphics cell has always been known for it's radical views mostly inconsistent in their nature with rest of the factions, that has led them to marginal status. That has resulted in very small numbers and not any real strength. While other cells were quick to accept open war policy, using every weapon and tactic available, Graphics sty limited to guerrilla warfare.
