WAR becomes another grind fest post level 22+

So a few thing Mythic has lied about;

 

1. RvR / PvP is ruled by Level (over) Gear (over) skill. No matter how good a player(s) is/are they CAN NOT compete against a group that out level(s) them by any means.

So for Mythic having said 60% Skill and 40% Gear is incorrect and false, its more like 80% Level, 19% Gear and 1% Skill (And Skill is debatable since the game will auto turn you if someone tried to stay out of your LoS, not much skill in that!)

Gear also plays a huge role, Anyone that goes into Tier 2 Scenarios with their T1 Gear will not have enough DPS compared to those that are in Tier 2 (with the _LEVEL_ requirement) and their Tier 2 Weapons/Armor.

2. Empty Tier 3 Scenarios taking hours to que up, making anyone thats level 22 having to run PQ and Quests, this is a _HUGE_ boaring grind;

PQ - Kills X number of mobs for X number of times (Not Fun)

Quests - Goto location Z find item Y and then Kill X Number of mobs for X number of times (Not Fun)

RvR (keep seige) - Vastly depends on server and sides, however this once again is ruled mainly by _ZERG_ size followed by number of higher _LEVEL_ players in said _ZERG_ and finally by the active guilds that cordinate said keep seiges.

 

I truely hope Mythic plans something or has something in store for everyone, as it stands now post _LEVEL_ 22 is boaring, slow and very repetative and starting an ALT is even worse since you have to do the entire _SAME_ path all over again! Its bad enough the _LEVEL_ curve is huge and slow!

    i wish i was, and i wish it didnt feel that way not to mention Chapter PQ's are the samething just higher level mobs and scenarios at Tier 3 almost give the same XP as Tier 2 except your Tier 3 level, so yes its a HUGE level curve!

    I so agree about the level part!

    I created my character and started with a scenario as soon as possibler. And oh my god, all those high level players killed me with no trouble at all. No skill needed, at all. Can you believe it?

    But to be honest, I think it will be over when the people reach level 40. Dont you agree?

     

    Seriously, do you really believe that someone with a lower level could kill someone with a higher level? It is possible, but it is logical that a lower level has more trouble to kill a higher level player.

    And I dont think Mythic was talking about level 10 when they said 60% Skill and 40% Gear.

    Yes it is kinda slow to level past 22.

    But you are so wrong about the skill/gear thing.

    Decent gear is NOT hard to get and whatever you do you get up-to-date gear. If not, this better be your first mmorpg ever played or I feel sorry for you.

    And the skill part, individually, 1v1 there is no skill whatsoever since this is not made a 1v1 game. But as for group vs group its the only thing that matters.

    Maby a bunch of low levels simply CAN not kill a group of people like 5 levels higher than them. But that is hardly ever an issue. In scenarios, it's more often than not pretty balanced with levels. In open world it depends what group you brought with you.

    OP, you've constantly complained about WAR. You've claimed to be in CB, yet still bought the game despite your nonstop bashing. What's your agenda?

    he's not kidding i found the grind to start around level13. not into scenarios (WOW bg's anyone burned out on them 2 years ago) so i tried to level in the rvr areas no one ever there i mean literally no one if i did see a dest char he would run from my engineer not an op class by any means so off i go fleeing after the enemy

    sounds strange to flee to try to catch someone to kill them any who i decided to pve a bit and that ended it for me if i wanted pve i wouldn't have quit WOW 2 years ago anyway made it to 17 and all weekend i would log in stare at the screen a few minutes logout and come to the forums here as theywere more entertaining then the game is.

    Id have to say you are wrong, in terms of how bad a grind it is. I work mon-fri at the very least, 8 hr days. I am nearly 28 and plan to be 31-32 by sunday ( not bad for a guy who works all GD day and is supporting a household). I honestly think you are being a bit picky. You come to an mmo, complaining about "skill" when the only game in MMO history, that I recall that involved any "twitch" skill was Planetside.

    All of the things you complain about have been written in MMO stone for years and years. Yeah, they lied about the gear/skill dependency thing, they also lied and said earlier that there would be no stealth in the game. Things change, designs change.. either leave and be "uber micro" elsewhere or just learn to cope and adjust to the design of the game.

    Well Im a lvl 16 SW and when I do RvR my group is usally lower level than Destruction they always seem to have the highest level for that area in tanks and healer wise at least. But usally we can defeat them so their is actually skill involved. I dont care what level you are you can still be killed if your stupid and don't use tactics as a group.

    I have never just sat around and let myself auto face and im sure most people don't as well. I pretty much always have my right mouse button clicked to turn my character when fighting.

    As for grinding, I really don't mind grind if its fun which I am having fun and I don't notice it at all. Just like in FFXI camping in a place for hours on end killing mobs. It wasn't boring because the group was talkative and I never noticed the grind. Same goes with WAR I end up playing for hours and next thing I know its 2 in the morning and I sit there wondering where all that time went. Time flies when your having fun.

    Get to Tor Anroc in Tier 3, heavily biased for Order and you will win the majority of the matches. On Red Eye, the only queues going are Tor Anroc (90% of the scenarios because Order are PANSIES) and 10% Talabec Dam.

    i just got 25k for a t3 scenario. how is that the same exp as at t2? where you get max 10k? do some research, present some FACTS, not random BS. if you are getting liek 2k then you are basically AFKing

    OP, why do you even want to play mmorpgs?  It takes time to advance your character and players should be enjoying some activities used to advance said character.  So what did you like in CB and what did you like before level 22 that kept you playing?

    But everything could be forgiven if the RvR itself was in anyway compelling or fun, notwithstanding the gear/level unbalance.

    Let's be honest, we're simply victims of the hype, the famous brand, the famous software house and a self-created aura of being "the next big mmo".

    But it's only rubbish.

    Ill give you that, its a shame as it stands now RvR (Tier 3 / 4) provides no real motivation to either side (defending or Attacking) to even attempt to take a keep, the zone bonuses overall are comical at best and have no real impact overall, merchant can be found in the main city at the Guild Tavern. So it goes back to the same ol'e same ol'e :(

    I really did want to like this game and was excited about it, the leveling between Tier 1 and Tier 2 was a nice pace, its too bad Mythic still has an old school level curve mentality with MMO's.

          LOL thread number 974263537849 abotu slow leveling.....The game has been out what a whopping 10 days?? There are already people max level (at least the 40)......I'd hate to make an MMO anymore....Players bitch constantly if they arent max level in 10 minutes......Why even bother with levels anymore?? So many players are so spoiled that they should just give them max level, best gear, tons of gold, etc etc etc (and they would still complain).........Cant people work for anything anymore?? Do you really want easier games than War/Wow/Lotro/ etc??

    Whats funny is the op said not fun to everything that the defines the mmo genre.  To me you shouldn't be playing mmo cause every mmo has those same basic elements in some form you said not fun too.

    the problem is with population...not with the game design...but that doesn't excuse the problem.

    I had so much fun going rank 1-21 by mainly pvping that i didnt even realize it when I hit that rank.  but a lack of t3 scenarios has caused me to pve and it is painfully slow.

    I have 4 other alts in the 12-15 range just because how easy and fun it is to level with instant ques.

    population needs to be solved on some servers or many will be canceling their subs .

    That's bullish, MMO's don't have "basic elements", those elements only belong to WoW clones.

    Please allow me to correct you; 

    as you stated _Whats funny is the op said not fun to everything that the defines the mmo genre_ So everything that defines _COOKIE-CUT MMO CLONES_ other MMO companys that dare stand outside the box are what i would call _INNOVATIVE_ unlike WAR which is another carbon copy clone wanna be, hence why i said _Not Fun_
