i said less then average the potential is there but i think for a game that is pvp with a fairly good sized world and then hiding everyone from the world in instanced pvp was bad design

The scenario and siege instancing was a great idea.
If you dont like the instancing, theres good news, its not required...go open field RvR and pve.
personally i like how it breaks up gameplay, and it really helps with the smoothness of having a huge RvR battle.
I really want to like this game and I'm trying. But there is some big performance issues going on right now and bugs. I hope they get worked out because I dont want to sub for a game that lags all the time even on big time rigs. This is not a rant just things that need to be improved is all and if they are I will probably stay.
I feel bad for the people who have trouble finding world RvR. I'm on Bechafen (sp?) as order and I can always find someone to fight in Empire land. I did a few scenarios, ran around a bit checking out where destro quest, ran into a few guys; got killed, killed some back. Order took a keep in Troll Country and I got to visit the renown trainer; along the way I got into a bunch of scrapes. Eventually ended up hanging out at the keep for a bit helping to fend off some pesky invaders.
I like it. Less of that forced hardcore garbage. You can play for only a little while or a lot and have fun. It's nice to see a game that doesn't require you to pay for a second job.
It's just as much about finding a good group of people as it is enjoying what you play. Don't be afraid to try many classes while the game is still early in it's inception
In other words, you've never played it past lvl 5.
By the time I was level 22, I had died 100 times in PVE through misadventure, accident or via mobs/questing etc. Likewise, my death in RVR hit 100 by the time I was 15. In contrast to other games, I do not think I died 100 times in WoW until I started doing the endgame dungeons. I did not die 100 times in LOTRO in my whole career there. In fact, by the time I hit cap level in both WoW and LOTRO, I can safely say I died maybe a dozen times.
The game isn't easy. It is easy to play. Those are very big distinctions.
I went ahead and gave it an "Excellent". Currently I'm sitting at Rank 17 / RvR13 and having a blast playing as a Maurader. Has to be the most dynamic class I've played in any MMO to date.
I realize now my biggest problem is trying to get into a scenerio. I think I may have either hit a dry spot where most are still in T1 or up in T3 now. So instead, I'm going around the various locations, exploring and unlocking the various locations, visiting landmarks and joining in on the siege battles I may come across.
I noticed one thing in this game that I don't really see all that often in the other games I've played. The player interaction and support on the world PvP of things. Had a few Order show up and was killing the lower levels (was about 6 of them). So we all banded together to fight them off, took about an hour but we managed to do so with minimal casualties. Now this is the sort of thing I was looking for in a game. I'm not a PVE player, I hate it and find it to be boring as hell. If I wanted PVE I'd go play some single player RPG.
Overall, my experiences have been fantastic. Currently playing on the Wurtbad server for those who may be running around as Destruction. Name's Mourtok, hit me up
-Cheers!

Uh, or you suck at WAR and he plays great? Being good at another game isn't really relevant here.
A round of Guildwars in hard mode should show you a few things about hard anyways. Not that WAR is so much easier than most games but it is a far way to hard.
Why why why why do fanboys keeps saying WAR has potential? Potential has AoC with special combat system, great graphics and ffa pvp, potential has Vanguard with huge open world with no zones, no instances, but WAR? There is nothing special nor unique in WAR. It's the best example of mediocrity in computer gaming. It's mediocre in every aspect from combat, through graphics to pvp/pve system. Give me a break with your potential.

Just be careful with your wording. If a game delivers what is promised but that promise is not what you want to play it can still be a very good game but not what you want.
I say this since it seems you want a very sandbox like MMO and WAR is not that, nor has it ever pretended to be one.
I voted excellent since it is a PvP oriented game with alot of things in place to make it easy to get into but hard to master (which is what I wanted in the first place).
Why why must a game do somehting new for it to be consider good. No WAR doesnt have potential to be the most in innovative MMO out on the market, but it is a bloody good game. And i would rather have a bloody good game than a game that has potential(AoC).
You're speaking words of wisdom here.
Potential is like your boss telling you're doing great job but denying a raise
I voted Excellent , with out doubt WOW is still the best Mmo ever no question about it, Warhammer is supberb but WOW just has the " X Factor " simple as that really.

I think it's a very good game. It has the potential to be an excellent game, but that is up to Mark and the team.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7

"Has potential" according to 3 of the 5 first posts.
Isn't that what "everyone" said about Vanguard last year?
Ouch...
i gave it a very good, not as deep or complex as i usually like, but am having a ton of fun
I gave it an excellent.

All in all a good night.
I gave it a very good. Not perfect, but better than any MMO I've played in recent years.
Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV
Its shallow, boring, and incredibly easy. Did I mention boring?
Will we ever get a good new MMO?

Why does WAR have potential and not AoC?
Programmers. Mythic would never release a game in the state that AoC was released. They have some pride in their product.
And after 4 months AoC is still in a shocking state.
Waiting for the next thing

this is the best MMORPG since WoW. I am enjoying the hell out of it. It can only get better.
It is a very good game. There are a few core things that need fixing:
1. PlayerToPlayer Interaction Incentives
2. Character Customization
3. Movement and Combat Animations. The battles look really dry and lifeless at times.
