Most people who dislikes the game, only dislike it because it's cool to dislike WOW, much like President Bush. This video sums up perfectly what a great game WOW was and still is:
Most idiotic statement I have seen in a while. Cool to dislike WoW? How in anyway is this cool to me? I am 36 years old...why would I care what is cool? And Bush is an idiot either way...but that is besides the point.
Perhaps ppl hate your precious WoW for other reasons.
Like just a plain UGLY looking game...I have been playing MMOs for years n I feel WoW is by far the ugliest lookin game I have ever played.
Or perhaps ppl hate the same old same old grind. The fact crafting is almost pointless. Everything is based on loot gear from raids. Or that the community is annoying. Maybe some of us feel because WoW dumbed down the MMO games for simpler ppl to play, the market has been destroyed by MMO clones. Maybe some of us want to play a game that requires some time/skill n thinking.
There are many reasons why some don't like WoW...but I doubt any of the reasons have anything to do with being 'cool'.
I see so much WOW hate. I've played some great MMO's, but none come close to the overall package of WOW. I loved Neocrons dark atmospheric world that reminded me of Blade Runner. I loved the vast open sandbox of SWG, and the player housing. I'm currently loving LOTRO. However no game has ever had the same effect of my that WOW did when i first started playing. I've never spent so much time in a game. It's to put simply a class act. The world always draws me back, and it's the best most detailed game world ever created in a MMO. Most people who dislikes the game, only dislike it because it's cool to dislike WOW, much like President Bush. This video sums up perfectly what a great game WOW was and still is: Click Here:
No one elses opinions matter but yours? Its the best game of all time because you say so. So when did you become gifted with the ability to see into the future to know WoW is the "the best game of all time"?
Your thread seems to be nothing more then flamebait, and just seems to reinforce what many people already believe about WoW players. You do a dishonor to the game you are trying to defend/protect/market.
K lets go through some examples. Dungeons: WOW's best dungeons/Instances are much better than any game out there. Prove me wrong. The Deadmines for example is more fun than any other dungeon i've ever played in another MMO.
According to YOU, not to me
The MMO market is about 15million people. 11 million play WOW, so the vast majoirty of players agree with me. What gives the minority the right to think the majority are fools for believing this. Ok think of this. I'm an atheist. I don't believe in god, but the majoirtiy of the world do believe in god. I think all the believers are dumb for believing. How does that make you feel when i say that? Ignorant? Well thats how WOW players feel when we are told we are carebears for likeing this game.
The MMO market is far bigger than 15M, and WOW is but a fraction of the total.
You aren't playing EVE, so that makes you a fool in my eyes.

I like WoW and am playing it right now. It is a fun polished game for what it is. I wouldn't say it is the best MMO. That is a personal opinion and more to do with what the player enjoys. If you are looking at the most technologically advanced game I would say Eve Online. I think there are many other very good MMO's too. What WoW has going for it is the reputation of developing fun and very polised games by Blizzard Entertainment.
I see so much WOW hate. I've played some great MMO's, but none come close to the overall package of WOW. I loved Neocrons dark atmospheric world that reminded me of Blade Runner. LOL, that's a very funny film clip, what is it supose to be the WOW fanboi training film, if I watch the whole clip will I end up talking and luving WOW like a fanboi as well?
Very funny 10/10 for humor, if I didn't know any better I could belive that your for real and really belive it, lol

When I saw this post the first thing came to my mind was flame bait.... and people wonder why noone likes the WOW community .... this is the fine example why......
The positive thing WoW did is that it strengthened the genre, as in introducing a lot of new players to it.
The bad thing it did is that after dominating the market it put it's gameplay development to a complete halt and almost all new mmos are stuck with auto-attack, endless grinding and meaningless, annoying PvP, because developers are afraid to break the mold.
"The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands, To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming! On we sweep with threshing oar, our only goal will be the western shore."

The bad thing it did is that after dominating the market it put it's gameplay development to a complete halt and almost all new mmos are stuck with auto-attack, endless grinding and meaningless, annoying PvP, because developers are afraid to break the mold.
What all Wow haters (what's in a name?) have in common is that they never see the evolution.
Those who played it in 2006 wouldn't even recognize the current game anymore.
Blizzard constantly fine tunes it.
Just one example : how many of you - old players - know that you gain extensive experience honor and gold from daily open world PvP quests? I am 69 with my new PvP rogue and I really have to watch out not hitting 70 too early with all these multiple 12.300 experience PvP stuff I get each day for EACH PvP daily. So I only do 3 of them each day (2 open world and 1 in the BG).
Just an example like daily heroic dungeons or arena championships with free CHOICE of gear and 25.000 dollar price money PER player.
Or the fact that each Wow Realm had to contribute to the landing on Sunwell Island and everyone had to work together to change the Sunwell lands.
AV will have its 4th change with WotLK, but you all speak of Wow of yesterday. The one without PvP gear, resilience, arena, awarded open world pvp, heroic dungeons, professions that are updated each 6 months, etc....
WoW's not the best mmo, it's just the most successful. When are you going to accept that? It's all in the eye of the observer and their personal taste. WoW got alot of good stuff going for it, but it's far from the best one out there according to my tastes, even though I've spent alot of time in that particular game. It raised the bar for mmo's though, and deserve credit for that. The shitty releases of the past should stay in the past, even though the developers of today still manage to make a mess out of things at release.

pennies worth compared to other MMOs out there present and past
I never had a problem with WoW, it's the way Blizzard fosters a community of ignorance and hate that I dislike. A very good freind of mine just finished up a interveiw with Chris Metzen and Jeff Kaplan that will air on ABC in late November, she told me that she felt like she was in a White Supremace indoctranation camp while she was there...grown men acting like spoiled teenagers, laughing at racist and sexist remarks on their forums (Which violates their own TOS) they send that vibe out to the world that it's okay and even cool to be a bigoted Asshat on the internet.
I know they are flying high now, but I really see things ending badly for Blizzard.
I see so much WOW hate. I've played some great MMO's, but none come close to the overall package of WOW. I loved Neocrons dark atmospheric world that reminded me of Blade Runner. I dislike WoW because it got boring for me and was to gearsentric. Not because it is cool to dislike WoW. Not everyone who comes to these froums is 14 years old. Lets see it has been about, oh 35 years or so since I worried about being cool. Get a grip!
Wouldnt say WoW is the "BEST" MMO of all time by a long shot. Its very good and quite well run. Bug free generally and the most forgiving on most anyone's computer than any MMO.
If the OP had changed his title to "People Just Need To Except WOW Is The most successful MMO Of All Time!", then this post would not have lasted for five pages. No one can dispute that, anyone who would probably would think Sarah Palin would be an excellent US President one day too.
But don't get most successful confused with best. No way is WoW the best. Just the best selling MMO of all time.
WOW was a great game game for me and i played it a long time until BC came out. BC made gear obsolete and the previous instances usless. WOLK will make things worse i believe. Personally i havent played since 5 months after BC so i could care less about the game.
I take games for what they are when i play therm. Some MMO's i liked and some I didnt. Right now im playing EVE and WAR, two very good games.
WOW best of all time? Not in my opinion only. Sorry.
Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR. Playing EVE Online and AOC. Wtg for SW:TOR and WOD
There is no right or wrong answer with what the OP posted (although i do believe he meant to troll people -shrugs-) To some people WoW is the greatest of all time to others not, to some people LOTRO is the best game of all time, to some its not, go read the WAR boards, people saying its the best ever, to some its not etc etc...in other words, this is a stupid debate that no side will ever win.

Let's use this one because this is what applies to WoW and makes it best and better.
Success - Success is a factual word. It is a word used to describe something concrete.
WoW is successful. It is the #1 most successful MMO to ever be produced in the world of all time.
The above statement is not my opinion it is a fact of life.
That being said here is what WoW fans argue with non WoW fans about.
WoW players - 10 million +
LotRO players - 200-300k Range
FFXI players - 200-300k Range
AoC players - Who knows it sucks maybe 150k?
WAR Players - 500k maybe give or take
DDO players - 150k
CoX players - 150-200k
DAoC - 10,000
Guild Wars - 750k-1million
Lineage 2 - 5 million
I can do this all day long.
Now to these 150k - 5 million mark players of other games, wow is not the best, else they would be in wow.
Fact though that if you glance through the games list on MMORPG.com WoW prolly has more subs in it's single game than every game on that list combined.
So is WoW the best MMO out there? Not to many not to at least 9 million MMO players....
But 10 Million + out there say you are wrong.
Money talks and bullshit walks.... and Blizzard talks a lot.
WoW better or the best? who knows but it sure as hell is the most successful.

it isnt the best. no games the best since most of it is just personal preferance.
lets all agree that ???
No other game is by far better then the MMO- KING of All MMOs World Of Warcraft ?
Just seems that people go out there way to dislike and try to bring down a game.
Yes there the Rock N Roll of all PVE games !
I Agree ! BUT they fail big-time with PVP ? Might be the only one with this feeling ?
Still people cant allow a new Kid in town ?
That offers a New look and works off a Team-Work with RVR and so on..
No matter how hard they try, still no room for another NEW game ?!?
Being Born in a Stable was not so bad ?,,,,>
>>They had Wise Men there! So that changed everything!
People why the HATE ?
If your game is the best then by all means You Win a Golden Bowl Full of Town-House- Cookies..
Sorry someone killed our cow, would Goats milk be ok ?
Whee! Hic !
People hate president bush because he drops bombs on weaker nations. No one likes a slimy coward.
