Intersting news and about time. I see the hype factor is already through the roof unnecessarily, but time will tell if this turns out to be as good as everyone hopes it is.

I wonder which console platforms they are going to release to?

Jestor what do you think about the new Star Wars TV Series Graphics style? Most likly this new game will be like that and more level base like WoW hopefully not,but if it turns out to be this way,I cannot wait for the NEW Rodo reports to start flowing in LOL.

Oh the Clone Wars looks just fine but the contrived storyline that goes against the plot lines between  eps2 and 3 that I find annoying, That idiot padawan for Anakin  needs to be bitch slap - She is the Sarah Palin of Star Wars.

I am planning only one more Rodo Report - Read my bio here.

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"

I asked this question a few years ago, it may not mean anything but then again it could.

    Designer

The best MMORPG ever would have the fluid tactical combat of City of Heroes, the Elder's Game of (pre-NGE) Star Wars Galaxies, and the continuing story arcs of Asheron's Call 1 (*toots own horn*).

Genre is less important to me. I like lots of things, though I've had enough of all the ninth-generation Tolkein ripoffs, k thx.

    and the back

looks like KOTOR, the title bars above and below the text, same gold bar with red center. If it's not KOTOR the only thing I can figure is, they like to mess with people. xD

im sorry but i cant care anymore.  after playing the joy that was a skill based star wars sandbox mmo i dont think any star wars design is going to be as successful.  especially after the disasters that were episodes 1-3 and the clone wars animated movie.

star wars is a dying franchise.  they need a full reboot, or they need to let it go.  too many bad ip management decisions in a row from lucas.  i just dont see how in this economy and market can handle another level based mmo or how it is going to survive the wow and eq comparisons that will go right along with that design.  people will argue the differences, but its still going to be wack a mole with math.  thats the main basis for that design.

Iets face it, since swg was announced there hasnt been a star wars release of any kind that was worth a damn.  not movies, not books, not animated shows.  not anything.  hell the best star wars content any of us has seen in the last 5 years was triumph making fun of what "hardcore" fans it has level.  and seriously.....   look at those people...

george lucas needs to retire this franchise and move on to something else.  he lost touch with his fanbase years ago.

I just cant help but see this mmo as a super expensive misuse of investor dollars in a time people cant really afford to back irresponsible projects.
    p.s.
if its level based, its going to get wow comparisons no matter who made it.  theres only so much you can do with that design.  and its been done to death for what, 14 years now in the online space?  theres no escaping that.

Battlefront 1 and 2 and Force Unleashed have all bene great games. How many subs did SWG have at its top? 250k? 350k? It would never ever reach WoWs number or even very high. Level based mmos are casual and fun to play. Not everyone is looking for that kind of depth. Many would just liek to come home and relax if their favorie universe wether it be SW, Conan, or Warhammer or something else.

Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day.
And then Nebraska would get nerfed.-pinkwood lotro fourms

    1.  Yes, this is KotOR Online or something close, and EA Bioware is simply shitty at keeping a secret.
    2.  It's totally different.  If this is the case, John Riccitiello is a fucking genius and EA Bioware is about to replace Blizzard as the king of secrecy and misdirection when it comes to upcoming titles.
Seriously, I hope it's 2.  I love to be surprised as much as anybody else.  It would also show Ricci to have as much marketing suave as people give him credit for.

Or it will anger star wars fans enough to not try the new game which honestly unless it's baldurs gate online or something I would probably fall into that category. I'm not sure I should say anger as much as disapoint because I'm looking forward to a good sci fi mmo set in the SW universe and swg is just not it plus I haven't had much interest in anything else they've done.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

    whats next ?

hyping the birth of a developers child because he might step into his fathers shoes developing some kind of game in some odd 20 years?
