Are you entitled to get heals?

somebody harrased me after the end of a scenario by sending me nasty messages. Why? because he was dying and was not geting healed. He wasnt even in my group, yet he thought he was entitled to be healed constantly. I reported him and in 5 minuets got a CR and told him about it.
Some people get irritated when they dont get healed. They dont take into consideration that sometimes you just can not heal when you get ganked. But what can you do?
I just started a list of these brats and keep my guild informed about it. When we see them on scenarios, we dont heal, period, and instead heal guildies only. I know other healers with the same issue. We decided to have a blacklist of these brats, hopefully they will get the message, or better yet, they will decide to roll a healer, then perhaps they will understand why we can not always heal.

Amen brother. If I see one more bright wizard crying in game about not getting healed while they blow themselves up and charge into 3+ destruction members Im going to scream.
To be honest though this has happened in MMOs for years. People assume that if you are a healer it is your job to make their play experience better. Sounds to me like you have handled the situation well. Might I suggest (if you dont already) you also use them to fill up your ignore list and get the ignore titles.

Agree, right now on my RP I will only run scenarios with guildies and they get the heals first. I'm tired of being told that I am not healing them or the healing sucks (when at lvl 15 I was posting over 45k in Temple go figure).
I have the ignore title "The Snob" from ignoring people that tell me I am sucking at healing.
The other thing that really irks me is that people expect heals but nobody wants to actually protect you. So when someone slips in the back and wails on you, nobody (but guildies) come to the healers rescue. How do people expect to be healed when I'm in the middle of fighting off that stupid witch elf?
To answer the question in the topic, yes.
If a dps person did nothing while you got your butt handed to you then you would complain too. A healer's job is to keep his TEAM alive, not just his group.
Here's a suggestion, on that party window that pops up when you join a scenario, click on the check boxes for the first 2. It will show the health bars for everyone on your side, then you can click on them and heal them.
If a RP or an AM are doing constant damage (not the occasional dot) while people are dying then they are doing something wrong. A WP is a bit tricky, but if their health is full and they are not healing someone else while doing damage then they are doing something wrong.
Now with that being said, you do have the right to play your class however you want. So if you want to be the Elf version of a watered down Bright Wizard then go ahead. But you have to expect people to complain that you are not filling the expected role.
What people need to realize is that there are not enough healers and it is very difficult for a healer to be everywhere at once.
Of course there are healers who would prefer to be more damage dealing mages and don't pay attention to heals, but I'm not sure if this is not viable, especially if these classes have different uses.
Quite frankly I think all healers should just go on strike. This way there won't be any and those who cry every time can roll their own healer. Problem solved.

The OP has a point though. When something squishy runs into a group of baddies to start doing their useless PBAoE and then complains because they died. . .they are doing something wrong. Being a Witch Elf myself I die and I die a lot, I don't expect the healers to heal me when I stealth through the mob and take out the Order's healers. When they do heal it makes me happy but I can't expect them to heal through nine other people beating on me.

I don't expect to get healed all the time but when I see 2 mages just sitting there dpsing while im sitting back in a corner trying not to get hit. I just sit their and if they don't heal it just pisses me off. Its happened so many times where I try to get the attention of a healer. It don't matter if your on my team or not they should still be aware were still a group. They really need to make scenarios warbands instead of 2 6 man groups. There are times when I don't get a healer on my team.
I played a shaman in beta and I always healed people that wern't on my team you have to be aware of your surroundings in this game and help people that need it or else things will just fall apart. Now I understand if you a dumbass and running into group of people by yourself most likely your going to die and there is nothing a healer can do.
But as for playing as a Witch Hunter I have to have a healer on me, I have light armor but yet im a melee fighter so I don't last as long as a tank. And when me and some tanks are running into battle everyone will target me first cuz I do so much damage. But if I have a healer on me I get rid of mages with the quickness and we destroy. If I don't have a healer on me Im dead with the quickness and I can't do my job.
Priceless. You just agreed with the OP that heals should not be expected and then complained about someone else not doing their job to protect you.
Yeah, people are not going to know how to do this or that, but if everyone just says screw it and does their own thing then the team falls apart. So, you can just tell the person off, or ignore them. . . OR you could help point them in the right direction. PUG are always going to be tough.
Do you get in a group with your guild mates and not heal? I'm going to assume you DO HEAL because ITS YOUR JOB and YOU ARE PART OF A TEAM. Scenarios are the SAME THING minus everyone knowing their role.
My GF is new to the game and MMORPGs. Very simple instructions to her, stay back near the healer so they can keep you alive, kill anyone in range. If someone runs up to your healer, slow them, root them, or use the knockback, kill anything touching the healer.
So... she not in your guild, a little slow to react (has problems clicking) and you're not going to heal her.
So the take home point for you mad elite healers running around with The Snob titles, teach those around you and the game becomes better for all. RvR is a TEAM sport. Refusing to be part of the team because someone else is not being a team player defeats the point of a TEAM sport.
Oh, and just an example of how a few words can help you out. Dude keeps killing the quest mob. I know the quest only needs him killed once, so after the third time rather than tell him off ( I was bad mouthing him to my GF sitting next to me IRL ) I asked him why? He was trying to get it to drop the orders so he could inspect them. So I told him about the 3rd tab in the bag for quest items, and he felt like an idiot, thanked me and left.
im a witch hunter. the way i see it, i never run into a fight expecting to get healed. when i go into a fight, i know im gonna die. if i get heals, then i consider it a bonus. my goal is to take as many @$#%&;*!'s as i can with me. i dont cry about heals. i play the game. PERIOD

Currently playing a rune priest and im getting much of the same kind of shit... I prioritize my heals like this if they dont make the cut to bad...
Meat Walls > People in my group > People in another group
(He we need em or we die) After I heal the "Meat walls" I will heal the people in my group and I don't even bother with people in other groups I mean if a witch hunter goes in solo to snag a kill and expects heals hes an idiot... Unless the guy who bitched you out was a tank that was blocking the walkway between the enemies and you then he should shut up IMO
When I play I dont except there to be heals. I just am happy if I get any but I dont get mad if I die. I play a witch hunter and I do that sometimes, run after someone with low health to get them but I dont get frustrated if I die since I know I probably wont get support.
I find it amazing how many people whine about healers not doing their "jobs", but then dont bother to protect them in battle.
I play a Sorc and never have to ask for healing as I always keep an eye on the healers and go out of my way to keep them safe. Most tend to repay that with a bit of healing love.
I do often feel sorry for them as some people seem to think that healers are bots who know exactly who to heal and can be anywhere in a battle with the snap of a finger. That is the curse of a healer, however, so just keep that ignore list up. Yelling at the healer is a trend that will never go away. Sad as that is.
First, the PBAoE is not useless. It helps build up their fire thing so that it can be at 100 and they can dish out mad damage.
Them running into a line of badies IS pointless though, I agree.
As far as their combustion doing damage to them, 1 HOT, for healers its an instant cast, is all it takes for them to keep up the damage and survive their spells. The extra damage is worth it for the TEAM. 1 instant cast HOT by you makes that BW do 2x as much damage easy, tearing apart tanks and anything else.
There is a line between being a Snob Healer and being a Team Player.
I think your post is very reasonable, the OP and the people right after him are out to lunch though. Yeah, you can't help someone who is suicidal and when they complain you can laugh and tell them why they died. But to eco the poster after you, there is no reason why the OP can't throw an INSTANT CAST HOT on me when I'm jumping all around him trying to get his attention. I know how to play as a team, and I'll root, snare, KB and kill anything that touches you until we both die.
LOL, I actually dumped my level 17 warrior priest in the first week because of all the crying. I felt like I was back playing my Pally back on WoW. Same old story. Now I play a Shadow Warrior and never have to put up with it again.
And if I get healed in game, great, if not, I don't say a word??? Why??? Because I aint no fricken crybaby, that's why, lol. Heck, maybe those people who cry the most should go play a healer; then maybe they'd know what it is like to have a bunch of strangers literally drive you away from them because of all their....

The answer is yes and no.
As a part of a team, everyone does their part. Its your job to help your team not to die, and its their job not to be idiots running into 5:1 odds and expect to live. He wants heals, perhaps he ought to stand back and protect you ...I wager he will get heals then

That right there, if your melee expect to die. To think otherwise is being ignorant. I could care less if I get heals. im still inflicting pain and I do respawn, not like my char gets deleted.
To the healers, if someone bad mouths you then ya, ignore him. But don't make the team suffer cause your a stubburn mule. The game is based on teamwork, and if your not healing 2-3 people in a scenario cause they flipped you off, then YOUR the waste of space in my mind cause your not doing your job.
Plain and simple. Don't cry for heals.
Healers need to be able to let things slide for the good of the team.
P.S Ummmm, anyone who rolled a healer should have already know thats what happens as a healer. I have one as well a Zealot (Rank 16) and I have a Chosen (rank 13) so i been on both sides.

Yup and thats the truth, you cant expect to get healed all the time, also you die and respawn jsut move on and pick up from where you left off...There are times when you DO get healed but then theres like a whole group of enemy players on you, you shouldnt complain, healers do what they can. you cant expect them to out heal damage from 6 people. Its all about having fun, people who die and complain takes the game too seriously.
When I charge, I always go for the healers first. And then when they gang up on me I run back to my party. Works like a charm, sometimes I dont make it but O well better luck next time.
While i agree with you. there are some douche bag zealots and shammies that think there a sorcercer and do not heal. Those are the peeps that get me pissed. My main is a zaelot and i personally feel embarrased if my heals are under 100k in ANY t3+ SC.
I'll disagree with that. I play a healer and I do a good job keeping my team alive.
It makes me angry when I try to play anything BUT a healer, and I am backed up by incompetent healers.

As an Engineer I'm normally stand near the ranged healers to help protect them, I'll throw down some barbed wire and same mu 'point-blanks' to keep them a live. I don't expect heals, it's a team game, keep the people up who are getting beat on...
Although I don't have a healer in WAR, when I played my Resto Druid and had a heal priority order; Tanks->myself->other healers->melee dps->ranged dps. Anyone who shouts 'heal me' gets ignored, if your not getting heals it's because I'm healing someone further up the list not sitting on my ass drinking tea...
Actually the gripe I have, is when im standing right next to you with 5% health and noone is attacking you or me and I dont get any heal. is it too much to ask to throw a HoT on everyone who is low on life? it really doesnt take much effort. I can understand if a tank or MDPS, who is doing is job, would take priority over a RDPS getting focus fired on or some nub soloing a IB, in that case I wouldnt complain.
I complain when the healer doesnt play as good as I would. I pre-hot everyone and continue to throw HoT's on anyone that is near me, while still tossing my big heals on the people who really need it.
Heres the deal, its pretty simple. This is a team game...now i have a 13 DOK and a 10 BO. with my DOK i can keep my entire team healed by throwing instant cast hots, and doing damage that spreads heals to everyone near me...I end up healing everyone. Now..when I play my BO I notice that no one bothers to heal me ever. Healers heal the squishies...which is an epic fail...because they can usually not out heal the damage focus on them anyway. I see a healer screaming why wont you tanks protect us? Well the same reason you healers wont heal the tanks. Im so tired of joining a SC, and most of the healers are off healing other people like Marauders or Sorcerers and they let the tanks die. When I mention that I need heals...they get all upset and tell me to stfu or something along those lines...but then they bring the point up that we should be protecting the healers and not pushing the line. Well then...hmmm...so we stay in one spot protecting the healers that dont even want to heal us.. meanwhile we arent pushing so the Order is taking all these points and then we get screwed when its over because we had spent the entire time protecting the healers and our exp isnt there.
You guys want to start a list of brats that complain about getting heals? Thats good, because im going to start sending names of healers that dont feel like healing and actually helping their team. If your a healer do your job and heal. There is no If's or buts about it. When you guys dont heal our team losses the match and the experiance to go with it. And to the argument that the BW or the Sorcerer needs to be healed so they can do tons of damage...just throw an instant HOT on them and watch them blow up stuff. In fact how hard is it, to throw a HOT on your team members that have lost HP? Look at your team that is near you and prioritize which one of them needs to be healed. Heres a hint...if the tank dies, your entire team dies. Obviously if the tanks arent protecting you corectly, send them a message and get them to. rank 10 = guard for healers which will be your best friend going forward. Think about it.

First.. I play a sorceress. I don't expect any heals EVER.. EXCEPT.. when we are getting beat so badly (back to our spawn) and the shaman is DPS'ing while I'm being focus fired (The shaman isn't healing the tank because we are all on the cliff.. ).. When we are all in combat.. Please DO NOT HEAL ME.. because it's a waste.. instead heal some body that will benefit and is in actual danger. A bright wizard/sorcerer.. are the last heal targets.. (although they do a LOT more damage if they are being healed.. but provide considerably less defense)
Now, this only applies to the RANGED healers. If you are an incombat heal (WP/DOK) you should be assisting your teammates with your heals.. and NEVER top the damage charts.. while only doing half the healing. Remember.. you guys have spell that lets you become a horrible ranged healer.. but a ranged healer none the less. Team First DPS chart second.
Ps. I always protect the healers with my root/slow whatever I can get on them.
