Who was it that said that WAR would fail after initial launch? You're looking rather foolish right now, don't ya think?
Don't know where you pulled that number from the last official number i've seen is 500k and all indications say it's been loseing players over the last few weeks.
Link? Or are you relying on XFire numbers?
None of this crap matters until the free month is over. Personally, I cancelled, because I got to level 20, and found the game boring in its current incarnation, and also, I'm sorry, but I'm not shelling out 200 more dollars on ram/video card upgrades just so I can play Warhammer.
As intensive as Age of Conan was on my computer before I cancelled it too, at least when I put the settings on low on that game, it actually did something to improve framerates. No such luck with WAR.
If you really want to play I can get you 2gb ddr2 and a nice video card for about $70 that runs WAR fine
I have 2gb ddr2, and a GeForce 8600 GT. Pretty much every game out, sans Crysis and Warhammer, runs fine on my setup. Sorry. I don't see me spending 600 dollars building a whole new setup just to play one game, even though the thought crossed my mind when I started playing Warhammer.
Umm wait you first said it would take $200 to upgrade ram and video.
Now your saying $600 to play War??
Simply put if you're running 2gb DDR2 and a "botched" video card (I'm not familar with those) then all you really need is a $30 video card............
Or is this just the typical WAR H8r /Obama tactic of keep switching the bar believing your lies are true so you can always complain about something.
It's not about computer specs with war. People need to stop it with "what is your computer specs?" questions. It's Warhammers fault we are having lag issues on their game. Not ours. It's the luck of the draw. If your computer gets no lag, wonderful. I myself have 3gbs, 512mb NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz ...Which handles Most games GREAT in high settings, pretty much all games in low settings with no lag. I can play Lineage 2 in be in a pvp siege with 100 on each side (happened 3 weeks ago) on high settings, no lag at all. Get on Warhammer, I have lag spikes of up to 2 minutes at times with lag here and there.
If you really think it's peoples computers, that's kind of ignorant. Why does the game take up so much memory to run? Why does it close so slowly sometimes causing me to CTRL ALT Del the damn game? Memory Leakage my friend and that's on Warhammer's part. Once they fix it, I MAY just may consider coming back.
You have a built in graphics chip on your motherboard instead of a proper graphics card.
It's time to trade in your redneck computer for a better one I think.
I gave my 1,000 desktop to my brother because he didn't have a computer and he's borrowing it. I'm currently using a x205 series toshiba laptop that cost me 1,600.00.

Mind you, it's on a laptop that runs the games I mentioned in earlier in high settings, such as lineage 2, CSS with 70 FPS (not bad for a laptop), etc... with the shitty graphics on Warhammer, it shouldn't be having any problems. If Warhammer is new technology, we are in serious trouble in the mmorpg genre. Point is, this is a good enough computer where I shouldn't be getting any lag from a game like this. It's a Nvidia Geforce 8700m GT graphics card which is one of the best, so I don't know why you're even saying it's a redneck computer, ha. Laptops aren't as strong as desktops, nearly, but still. This is a gaming laptop.
{ Mod Edit }
I am not sure about laptops but my gaming rig has dual 9800 GT SLI --- so the 8700 wouldnt be one of the best, not even close -- unless I am way off base here on the laptops vid cards
No, it's a crappy graphics chip for laptops but Earl here thinks thats it's a powerful graphics card.
thanks -- thats what I thought. Anyways, I find it funny how people with crappy rigs complain about the way the game runs.
Except that it's not a "crappy graphics chip built into his motherboard", it's a discreet graphics card for laptops that far exceeds the game's requirements.

and if you have a crappy Graphics card that dont mean a darn thing.
Your making a small misunderstanding mistake in your point, I understand why you think that way but your not looking at it the right way. XFire is useless if you try to compare one game to another because its not a sample of the whole gaming population. Thats an indeniable fact XFire is a great tool to see the trend of a particular game as long as the sample is big enough for that said game (cut the way too long quote)
This isn't true, due to the numbers. XFire only speak for XFire users and even amongst them is questionable at best cause only like 2.5% of the total amount of users registered bother being online with it at prime time. XFire doesn't give you a clue about any trend concerning the general gaming public. The numbers just are too small and a sample can never be big enough. On primetime the most I've seen online on XFire is around 250-300k users. That is like 0.0001 percent of the total gaming public or even less. Don't say squat about the trends in the gaming world.
The reason for the 2.5% of total amount registered is simple, some registered years ago for a game and then stopped playing. Why use it if you don't play games that need it anymore?
Once again, you misunderstood
Trends of the gaming world is irrelevant to this, only the trend of Warhammer. We're comparing Warhammer to Warhammer here, not Warhammer to X. I don't know how to explain it better than I did before, you should reread it. Perhaps I'm not very good at explaining all this
Steelguru: I already said that Xfire was useless to get a number of subscribers, it was only valid to see if the sample using it was lowering or increasing.
Umm...no. I know what you're trying to say, but I say that just can't be done. The numbers are just too small, and only talk for the users running XFire, not the rest of the players Warhammer got. Let's just agree to disagree.

You can't understand if you think the numbers are too small
Mythic said they have 750k account so lets assume their all active
Xfire, at this very moment has 11.2k people playing Warhammer per day (Btw, it dropped to 7th position)
If all the 750k are playing today (which is impossible) then 11.2k / 750k = 1.5% of total population of Warhammer will use Xfire today
When they call people for a survey, for elections for exemple, they call a few thousands out of the 300 millions of the U.S. Thats a lot less than 1% of the population
Your problem is that your dividing that number by the Total number of gamers in the world, which makes no sense... If you have a ice cream shop and you want to know if theres more or less customers this week than the last, what do you do? Do you go to other ice cream stores to see how many they have? No, you check your total sales and compare them to the week before.
Last week, the ice cream sales of Warhammer was 12.5k per day on XFire, this week their 11.5k
