yes Heroes Quest... Incase you didn't know The original Quest for Glory was called heroes quest... so It just stuck with me.. I like that name betteer than Quest for Glory anyways... here's a pic...
But yeah.. After the First Release which was called Hero's Quest: So you want to be a hero.......Sierra Entertainment changed the name to "Quest for Glory: Hero's Quest"
PS: Notice on top of the box cover it says... 3-D animated.... wow.. we have come a long way...
You may be interested to know what goes into a game like Hero's Quest I: So You Want To Be A Hero. Development took over a year, with up to four programmers and four artists, a musician, and a designer-director.
Hero's Quest I contains:
111,000 lines of source code (well, so 30,000 of them are blank!)
535,000 bytes of background pictures
1,560,000 bytes of animation
1,980,000 bytes of program code
375,000 characters of text messages
314,000 bytes of music and sound effects and over 200,000 bytes of compiled system code
And you thought this was easy!
Quest For Glory was originally named 'Hero's Quest', but the name was later changed due to a conflict with Milton Bradley over their board game 'Hero Quest'.

Ahh. I was wondering if you were talking about Quest for Glory, because that was the only other sierra adventure game that I could remember, and heroes quest did sound familiar.

Oh, man, the days of yore! All those Sierra and LucasArts Adventure games rocked so hard. Any of you remember the Gabriel Knight series? Holy crap, those games where the 5#17!!! However, best game of all time? ULTIMA VII, THE BLACK GATE
Who's with me?!
Otto!
I'm looking for some friends that I lost contact with over the years...
man if any of you remember the game "NOX", a fast paced game rpg game, also aliked like diablo but alot faster gameplay in multiplayer, was named AcidXide, and was top wizard in Canada and top 4th wiz in the world hehehe, it was release i believe 2000/2001? made by westwood, and of course EA taking over teh company and discontined servers........
Also would say Call of Duty (atm) would be my best game and EVE-Online, known as Borg Fusion.

Very fun, very good story. Awesome music too, made me a fan of Yasunori Mitsuda. --------------------------------------My Xanga Site! Yeah i agree , i really loved the game (its one of the only rpgs i played till the end of the game without ever thinking ''im gettin kinda tired of this''. and then i was curious what score it got at gamespot.com , so i checked and it got 10 perfect , it sure deserves it though , its possibly one of the very best rpgs ever made imo. Good gameplay , good story , awesome cast of characters(even though some of them didnt have much to do with the story , who cares? in other rpgs im always like ''damn i wish i couldve had that guy in my party'' and chrono cross lets you do just that I hav 99 stars and im missin 3 characters or something...to lazy to beat it a 4th time though. ----------------------------------------------
This game was one of the best RPGs to date and will remain at the top forever. I was latecomer to the console world, but even I couldn't miss this gem. Another game that I can just pick up and play is Legend of the Dragoon. I've played it probably 5 times all the way through and countless others. I'd be saying this about Crono if it had been my first bu dragoon beat it. You always stick to your first love.Reality is not all it's cracked up to be...That's why there are video games
Damn, talking about it is making me miss it, I'll have to go pick it up somewhere. Getting all the characters is one of my greatest gaming moments. It's relatively short for an RPG, but goddamn it's fun everytime. Oh man I need it now.
Originally posted by SatansDisciple I grew up too late to play adventure games. There was one that I had on the PS1 that I loved, played it so many times it's sad. I can't remember the name... You played as a dragon, and there was one activity where you had to launch a cat at a wall that bothered me so much... Blazing Dragons sounds familiar, anyone else know what I'm talking about? --------------------------------------
are you talking about spyro??? anyways my fav??? um well i noticed many people have final fantasy avatars...people have mentioned 2..3.... people!!! why didnt anyone mention 7!!!! best final fantasy!!!!!!
i would have to say that the GTA games are my favourite games, i can pick up the controller and instantly have fun. The new GTA: San Andreas is out soon, WHOO HOO. However i thought that Landstalker: Treasures of King Nole was amazing, it was the best megadrive game and i still think its great, although once you've completed it you dont really want to start it again.
It's a toss up between Pirates! and Elite I would say but I think that I have to go with Pirates!. It was just so damn good and ate up so many hours of my youth.
I am a bit scared to play the new version of it when it comes out, it may trash my rose-tinted view of the past!!

No it didn't, you had MUD's before then. As well you had other MMORPG's released before UO, including Meridian 59, and I believe The Realm if I'm not mistaken.

I'll go back a little farther... so everyone can poke fun at my age.
This was one of my all time favorite in the 80's. I would sit there for hours with this game. There wasn't an ending... unless there was 400 levels. It was awesome.

Well.. going by the most -fun- I have ever had, and also the most addicted and time-wasted situation for a game, I conclude:
Half-life: Counter-strike
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction

My absolute favorite game of all time would have to be the original Tie Fighter game.
I think I went blind playing that game too much.... well it was either that or the porn.
