Its funny how opinions go but a friend of mine in Australia is loving WAR but he is in a very large guild that already has 20-30 on at any time.  The game needs 1000's of people to play and not in Scenarios either.
Improvements WAR can make semi easily
    * Global channel for both sides!!!!  Its great to be back in an MMO where I can see chatter scrolling and sense a real community.  If any MMO needs a global channel its WAR.  Imagine people writing "Keep at X spot is under attack!" Maybe it would concentrate players and same goes for PQ's.
    * Sound - get a composer in and sort it out...done
    * Graphics - not bad, not great but they could do with smoothing it out and putting some decent lighting in.  I personally rate Vanguard above WAR but I played it a year ago so I cant be sure now.  I do like the trees in WAR though.
    * Limit Scenarios or make them unavailable when a milestone is reached.  Imagine if points added up and once 5000 is hit they turn off but the overall winner has a monster turn up like a giant or a griffon that attacks the enemy and their keeps.
    * Create a crafting bag then trader and start a player driven industry.  Vanguard had an amazing setup but suffered due to population.  Give people the opportunity to support the war and not participate.
    * Make combat mean something.  Dont limit RvR to a small box.  Let players overrun areas and cause mayhem.  Like most I stand on the boundary unless you outnumber the enemy by huge amounts.
If I gave a straight number out of 10 it would be 7. Unfortunately I cant stand the combat as its too basic and mundane so unless they overhaul that its over for me.

Personally you sound like a hater/troll.  I have read your posts a lot them.  If you don't like the game don't come back.  A lot of these things are not going to change.  A lot of people don't want them to change.

They all ready added a global channel.

Sound I got to agree but I can tell they have started adding sound.

Graphics, so far its the best out there except for AoC.  So thats null and void.  This game is about PvP not the best graphics.

Limit Scenerios, that would make me leave the game.  Scenerios are great fun.

Crafting, ok I have been complaining about crafting since the start so YEAH.  :)

Combat, it means something.  Just because you don't think it does doesn't mean it doesn't.  Its smart to rally everyone before you go out after them.  Also we have had 2 days of RvR fighitng.  Order beat us.  For 3 hours I personally had a RvR fight today.  This was in Teir 3 in the Elf Area.  40 to 50 people were playing on destruction 2 full warbands plus straglers.  We tried taking both keeps.  Did we win, no, but we didn't stop.  We came close 3 different times.

Not trying to sound like a hater or troll at all.  As stated in my last post my best friend is loving it but it may have something to do with being in a massive guild so having a large warband each time you log on would help a lot.  Trying to put across the reasons why I left and how they should improve the game IMO.  For the record my server is low on pop because I have never seen anything like the numbers you or other players preach.  It feels like Vanguard at 6 months where I would run around for ages and see a couple of players.  I would hope that with the subscription figures they are posting it would mean that all the servers were booming for both sides.

I may come back to WAR but I would buy a different region to play with my mates in the US and Aus.  However I think something else will come along before WAR does anything to draw me back.

    USER RATING                   MY RATING
    GRAPHICS   - 8.7                               My Rating - 7
Considering the game has graphics that is not up to date, not bad but certainly not 8.7!  Initially it was the key let down for me.
    FUN  - 9.4                                My Rating - 7
Ok who am I to say if people think the game is fun or but 9.4 Are you freaking kidding me?  Is this seriously the most fun in an MMO that you have ever had?  GET OUT MORE!
    SOUND - 8.8                            My Rating - 4
8.8 for sound?  Ok now this rating has donkey crap all over it.  The sound in WAR is borderline pathetic compared to most MMO's out there.  AoC has movie quality ambience, EVE even Tabula Rasa crap all over WAR.  All I seem to hear are dull drums going off and an odd screech.  8.8 rating? I must be playing a different game.
    COMMUNITY - 8.6                    My Rating - 4
Community may differ on each server but this game has the worst community I have ever come across.  Is it the players fault? No. Its the set up of the game.  There is no default global chat and unless you are in a guild there is no way of knowing what the hell is going on.  Met some nice people but the game does not have an overall community feel.
    ROLE PLAYING - 8.5                My Rating - 2
Now this is funny.  Role Playing 8.5?  Based on a 1000 votes as well.  Come one people are you seriously giving this game 8.5 for RP?
    PERFORMANCE / LAG - 8.8    My Rating - 7
I give this game 7 which is pretty good for a new release but once again 8.8 is so overinflated its funny.  What about the lag? The 60 second lock ups? The graphic glitches? The reboots?
    VALUE - 9.2                            My Rating 7
If WAR was free then I would give it 9.2 but unless you have mummy and dadddy paying for the sub then there is no way in hell this game gets 9.2 Value rating.  If this was true I would cancel my 2 EVE subs and my AoC sub because I am yet to see a game get close to 9!
    SERVICE - 8.8                         My Rating - 6
I have not needed to contact service in-game yet but I give it a 6 purely for the pain of registering and trying to work out how to log in.  No instructions and for the first time I even had to call a mate to find out why it wasn't working.  He had spent 2 hours working it out as well.
Is this a WAR bash thread?  Not really but the concept of WAR having 8.87 rating is laughable and anyone that voted stupidly should be tied at a stake and have tomatoes thrown at them.
For the record I played table top Warhammer for almost 15 years so if there ever was a fan I should have been it.  Unfortunately they have gone to the mass market and dumbed down the game...IMO

Graphics- If AoC is a 10, LoTRO is a 9, Vanguard is an 8. I'd say EQ2 is a 7. WAR is right behind EQ2 in my opinion on graphics and above WoW...slightly. So I think a 6 is fair.

Fun- I think you rate fun based on how fun the game is compared to others RIGHT NOW. At this moment, I find WAR more entertaining than any other MMORPG on the market. Most fun ever? No, but most fun NOW. I rate this a 10.

Sound- I don't know how to judge sound, because it's one of those things I don't give a damn about. I notice when there is good sound, because I think to myself that I wouldn't mind having the sound track. I don't feel that way about this game, but nothing stands out as being annoying or abnormal. I'd give the sound an 8, just because it isn't annoying and doesn't make you think about it. It's good for the theme.

Community- I haven't played a game that had a default Global chat, only Regional. WAR's recent patch introduced Regional chat. Either way, a chat channel or the lack of chatter doesn't make a community bad in my book. In my book, maturity and respect for others is how I judge a community. The community on Phoenix Throne (RP) is pretty good. Not perfect, due to the loot whores that plagued some scenarios before they fixed that problem, and the people who scream at others when they are losing. I'd rate the community an 8.

Role Playing- I rate a games role-playing off of the tools the developers present the community to encourage RPing. We're rating the game here, not the community, so the fact that not many RP shouldn't have a bearing on whether or not the game is good for RPing. I think there aren't many tools for RPers, and the fact that the game is heavily focused on combat makes it unbelievable as a world to live in. I'd rate RPing at a 3, because there are some emotes, albeit not enough, and the lore and atmosphere is there.

Performance/Lag- I rate this a 4. It was around a 7 at release, but got consistently worse as patches were rolling out. This game has the same lage problems DAOC has in RvR, which can get quite annoying. I've had a friend whose friend and himself were playing on computers in the same room. One showed them standing 3 ft from each other, the other 30 ft. The developer even stated that the game has server lag and they were trying to fix it. Abilities aren't going off when they are supposed to due to lag.

Value- I'd rate this game a 10 for value, because for $49, you get a months worth of seldomly interrupted entertainment, where a 360 game will cost you $59 for a week of play, if that.

Service- After today, the game no longer gets a 10 in that department. Besides, part of service is ensuring a game is relatively complete and bug free. I think the phone support is useless, and I hate email and knowledge base support. I've rarely found either of those helpful. However, they have a nice feedback system that I used in DAoC and a bug reporting system that is easy to use. I'd rate the service a 7 based off of my xp.

Average this up, and you end up with a 6. So yes, people voted unfairly, but I think you're purpose is to still up trouble. Especially with your insulting remarks in your review. Plus you're an AoC fan and have something at stake here, since AoC is a WAR competitor.

WAR gets an over all 6 from me. Not a bad game, but not a great one either. Reason being is because I can't bring myself to PvE in the game enough (if you can call what is in the game PvE) to off set the repetitivness of griding minis. If the game didn't have a monthly, or the monthly was like 20$ every 3 months I might think about playing it again, but as it stands a game that gets only 2hrs of game play from me before becoming boring is not worth $15/mo.

Edit: I'll lower the score to a 4 if mytic and ea take a crap on the a good portions of the users like they did in DAoC.

Only people who like the game should be allowed to rate it!

Obviously just because you like a game doesn't mean you need to give it an 8,9 or even 10 out of 10. You could still like this game, but only give it 6 or 7.

I like all genres of music apart from reggae. If i listened to any reggae album, i'd probably rate it no more that 2 or maybe 3 if i was feeling generous. It might be the best reggae album ever written, and rated 10 out of 10 by reggae fans worldwide, but i'd still absolutly hate it.

I can rate it whatever I want. Its a question to the individual on how he things about the game.

It didnt ask what does Antipopealan want you to rate this.

Of course you can rate it whatever you want, just like i can rate that reggae album a 2 simply because i hate all reggae music in general. But my 2 rating doesn't reflect on the quality of the reggae music itself.

I also never told anyone what to rate this game! I don't know why you have have simply pulled this allegation out of the air for? I will fire one back to you then! You like to cut up kittens and microwave their heads for fun.

I still keep with my earlier score of 7,5/10. It's one of the funner games I've played but it could easily go to an 8 if Mythic continues to release good patches and sort out problems. My score would go up to a 7,75/10 as soon as a global warband/RvR channel comes into play. A global chat channel would also be awesome. If it's been released in the US, I'm pretty sure it hasn't been released yet in the Euro version because it didn't seem like people were chatting on a global level.

What would also raise my score is if people in all tiers would start ORvRing. I joined the game as an RvRer, not a scenario PvPer, yet I've been forced to go into scenarios. I like PvP in general, but to get any reknown as I level, I've got to queue up for the scenarios. There are quite a few ways Mythic can put incentive in the RvR portion of the game. It remains to be seen how they implement these incentives. I have faith in them to do the right sort of things however, but a lot of it also has to come with the players.

What would bring my score higher than an 8 is if the really bad bugs get fixed on a timely basis. This is in particular with classes that are broken, such as the SW and SH.

Otherwise I find WAR to be one of the funnest games I've played in a very long while. I've been playing for a month and I still don't feel any less of the 'honeymoon' period. That's almost a record for me. Only two games have ever done that for me: DAoC and EvE, but with EvE it took me a long time to get into the game. I am by far more addicted to WAR than I ever was in WoW and yet I consider WoW to be a pretty good game too though too limiting for what I like doing, which is PvP/RvR.

I have a few sound glitches for some reason with WAR, but overall the sound is just fine. I don't ever play with music on in any game other than AO. I don't understand why people are so down on the graphics. I like the graphics in WAR very much because they follow the character models and how Games Workshop suggests people design their table tops for specific battles. I love having dyes and trophies: they're awesome. I hope that Mythic continues to add cool things like trophies to the game. However, I hope the major issues are fixed before Mythic adds any fluff.

Overall, I say the game is excellent and truly does have potential, even more so than any other recent release. The game is surprisingly balanced inherently with equal numbers of classes and most of them mirrors of each other. Yes there are a few problems in the details and not all tiers are equal. Again I think that Mythic will do right by us players and make the game balanced and fun in PvP/RvR as much as possible from level 1.

Back in EvE. Started with BatMUD. Main MMOs have been EvE and DAoC.
