Will there come a time that they release the promised DX10 for Age Of Conan???

Does someone know when they will finally add the promised DX10 to the game? And the other futures they said that they would add? Cause waiting for the retail expansion that will release next year would be idiot......

from what i read its being put on the test live servers soon for wide testing. the latest patch i think its 3.25 adds mainly class fixes/balances, fugitive system, quest fixes and other various stuff. i think patch 4 will have the starting of direct x 10 implementation.
correction they are up to 3.30 patch now on TL. so far there is update 3.0,3.19, 3.21, 3.25,3.27,3.28, and 3.30 notes. they are fixing and adding a buttload of stuff.

No date is set, but they have said many, MANY times that it will be a free download and NOT tied in any way to the expansion, the expansion that has only ever been barely talked about.
You will see the PvP system, new zones, crafting revamp, PvP armors, and DX10 before the expansion. As has been stated in just about every interview that even asks about the expansion.
Rather a moot point anyway, as the majority of users, and the DX10 capable computers saturation is less that that of DX9 anyway.

I find it funny when Erling "Hype Machine" Ellingsen said in an interview that they decided to drop DX10 2 weeks before the launch. He gave the impression like it was almost ready but they just decided to implement it a little bit later so it would be perfect.
This DX10 lie, was imo the biggest lie, the lying liers of FC management put out. They expect us to believe that the decision whether to put DX10 at launch was made 2 weeks before the launch?! That is biggest bs I have ever heard. The decision was made MONTHS before that but they didn't tell us because they were scared they would lose pre-orders.
It says DX10 in my box, and now after many months they still haven't even set the date when DX10 is coming. What a bunch of amateurs. I doubt we will ever see DX10.
This is my 29th post, so it's not over 30 posts. That is the first but not last incorrect statement in your post.
I haven't posted BS about AoC. Only FACTS and my own OPINIONS.
You on the other hand have not been answering to my posts or talking about the topic, only accusing me of trolling or using multiple accounts. I'm not sure what you can or cannot do on these forums but I will report you and hopefully you will get a warning or something.
By the way.. when is DX10 coming? What date?
DX10 was dropped 2 weeks before the launch. The reason they dropped it, was to increase performance across the board for all users, and they did that. If you feel that this was the wrong choice, I don’t know what to tell you, because the focus on performance for all users, in lue of adding DX10, increased playability one hundred fold for EVERYONE.
The communication that this was the case could have been better, sure. But its not deserving of the hissey fit player are making over it, it was the right choice.
And do bring up that it was on the box, the box was printed before this choice was made, booo hooo.
What people are calling lies are simply the reality of development, things happen, stuff gets cut, things don’t work out between on paper, and reality. Could they have been clearer about what was going on, sure? But all of that was a symptom of releasing early.
Please correct me if i am wrong, but if DX10 is such a game breaking issue with you, then you should be just fine with the other issues in the game being present? Correct?

Game looks nice right now, and well crysis warhead didn't run to well on my 4 gig ram 8800gtx computer, had to restart the game after 20 minutes or so in the early game cause the framerate dropped to 1 fpw(frame per week), right now with dx9 conan runs fairly well.

The point I was trying to make was that 2 weeks before the launch the DX10 should have been at least 99% ready because there's not much you can do in 2 weeks, right? Otherwise they would have known much sooner that DX10 will not make it to launch.
You really believe they've had DX10 somewhere in the corner, 99% ready all these months, and NOT implement it? Improved graphics would have stopped many people from leaving.
If I remember correctly, FC officially said DX10 will not be in the game a couple of days before early access. You think this is because of bad communication? No. They did it this way to sell more pre-orders. If they had said there will be no DX10 when they really knew it, months before launch, it would have hurt the sales. They couldn't have hyped the game with DX10.
Yes, these are people who love making games, but you all have to realize what is their main goal. it is to make MONEY. Money always comes first and they are willing to do anything to make more of it, even lie.

Actually in a press release E.E. let it slip they were (at that point) just beginning work on the DX10 client, this was in July btw. SO take from that what you will. Personally I agree with you here, it wasn't anywhere close to being ready for launch and they knew it , yet they still waited to tell everyone.
Edit- @ O.P. your guess is as good as mine, they said it may come with the next few updates. However they said the same about the PVP system, over and over again.

Heh - Conspiracy theories aside the usage of the "Games for Windows" and "Enhanced for DX10" monickers are usually part of an agreement with MicroSoft.
I am still certain that Microsoft did fulfill THEIR part of the agreement between them and FC - I wonder how FC management squirmed when they had to explain to MicroSoft why FC could not fulfill THEIR part..

Could be but the graphics aren't any special....Lotro is better in graphics when using dx9 and certain if you use the dx10 version.
You can't honestly say that a major game feature was dropped just two weeks prior to launch. It just doesn't work that way. This information was kept intentionally from the public. But it doesn't matter anymore because AoC is a dying MMO. When the head game designer resigns, you know the shit has hit the fan. Vanguard anyone? I'm thinking so. I wonder how much longer before we find AoC on SOE's wonderful line-up? Don't worry AoC fans, that day is coming!
Maybe you're from a country and like an economic system where companies are allowed to lie and mislead the public into spending their hard earned money on falsely advertised products, but here in the USA, we punish people for this. Maybe that shit is acceptable in Norway, but it's not acceptable to me and shouldn't be acceptable to anyone. It does in fact bring a tear to my eye that my wife and I spent $180 on two CEs of AoC when that money actually could have have paid our utility bills for a month. Maybe you have all the money in the world, but I don't.
If you think this is just how it works in practice, I invite you to ask Mythic about such things.
I think it's a perfect over/under on whether dx10 ever gets released. My opinion still is that AOC will not be around in January. If it is still playable, it will be by a different company and development will be halted.

Funny that Dx9 was only using 34.5% of my gpus up until last patch, not to mention it ignored the ram on the second card completely. So even DX9 sucked from launch until the most recent patch. I cant believe the beta testers didnt leave this hunk of crap, even when it was free. I mean seriously, the Pc I built wasnt a monster but was an SLI rig and an E8400 chip, but ran Conan like a dog. Its improved somewhat recently, but still 4 months after release and DX9 is just barely running acceptably? Come on....
Some people are like slinkies, they dont really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
Since it is printed on the box I purchased it would be nice to see it in the game within the next year.
I don't play this game any more, and never will again, but more power to you if you can find enjoyment in playing upstanding Funcom's product.

Apparently they've been working on the Dx10 features now for a few months. There's been screenshots and videos of it and little Erling has been chirping his little head off about it at the conferences.
Now, if you believe the devs, its launch date is getting closer.
But, like server merges, Ymirs Pass, the "Notoriety" system for pvp, the Commons District, Thunder River's new high level dungeon, the House of Crom dungeon, crafting changes that are coming, re-itemisation, etc, etc, etc,......we just haven't been given a date.

I feel Mythic has been very open and honest. WAR was not my game, but the overall experience was a good one because I had short but great fun with those greenskins and in the end I felt like I gave some money to the "good guys".
