The Hawaii Govoner's L. Lingle (R) office states Those listed as entitled to obtain a copy of an original birth certificate include the person born, or "registrant" according to the legal description from the governor's office, the spouse or parent of the registrant, a descendant of the registrant, a person having a common ancestor with the registrant, a legal guardian of the registrant, or a person or agency acting on behalf of the registrant... pursuant to Section 338-18 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, a provision the anonymous source claimed was designed to prevent identity theft.

Last week (Friday 24 Oct) in dismissing attorney P. Berg's (D) Senator Obama (D. Il.) citizenship lawsuit (Berg asserted that Obama is either a citizen of his father’s native Kenya or became a citizen of Indonesia after he moved there as a boy,) in a 34-page memorandum that accompanied the court order, federal district court Judge R. Barclay Surrick concludes that ordinary citizens can not sue to ensure that a US presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the office. (i.e. "voters do not have standing to bring the sort of challenge the Plaintiff attempts to bring.")
Surrick cites Aritcle III of the U.S. Constitution, limiting federal judicial power to handling cases and controversies in which plaintiffs have clear standing through specific, personal injury.

The US Supreme Court has consistently held that a plaintiff raising only a generally available grievance about government – claiming only harm to his and every citizen's interest in proper application of the Constitution and laws, and seeking relief that no more directly and tangibly benefits him than it does the public at large – does not state an Article III case or controversy. (Lujan v. Defenders of Wildlife)

So who would have standing to bring this if not the voters? I do believe this should be proven in a court of lw so it would finally put a rest to the issue... otherwise it is just going to be brought back again, and again, and again .. ugh

(<3 color blindness, I had to highlight the OP's goddamned thread just to read it, which i finally gave up on eventually for more interesting posts in the thread)

(Who uses color text for a full thread.... thats just tacky..)

I always laugh at some of you nutters here.

Christ he's blocking because quite frankly he can, and it's just how is personality is, look at him out there he's just a stand offish kind of guy.

We can all do this, and for some of us it's just a matter of having your personal records being invaded. A stand. (Although in this case dumb)

A bad idea for an election but I can see where he is coming from (Obama).

Remember kids, colorblind folks read too. And your horribly colored customized threads are near impossible to read without extra effort.

Yeah, it's red-green, and blue-yellow. I have a mild case of red green, and I can read your red writing fine.

Old traditions are hard to break, which is why I use green.

Spent many years in front of green monocrhome monitors and well it grew on me.  Now-a-days with message boards, I find the use of green effective at standing out and catching the eyes of readers.

    And that is why...

Conservatives' pessimism is conducive to their happiness in three ways. First, they are rarely surprised -- they are right more often than not about the course of events. Second, when they are wrong they are happy to be so. Third, because pessimistic conservatives put not their faith in princes -- government -- they accept that happiness is a function of fending for oneself. They believe that happiness is an activity -- it is inseparable from the pursuit of happiness.
