Anyone still of the belief that Obama is going to lose?

I'm not saying that Obama WILL win...as anything is possible.  However, who here still thinks that Obama is likely to lose or has a solid chance of losing?

The numbers don't lie...Obama's lead is substantial and he is absolutely destroying the early vote polls.

I still think he'd have to get caught in the Denny's restroom with a white chick to lose.

I think there's about a 1% chance of him getting caught.

Yup, he's a Democrat. Getting caught in a restroom with a white guy would just get him more votes.

The polls had Gore up this much or more 8 years ago.  ditto for Kerry this time 4 years ago.

    the polls don't mean shit.

As did Al Gore, but he lost as well. Polls do not matter. It only matters what people select behind the curtain.

I sure hope he doesn't: Imagine all of the millions that will have gone to waste on commercials, ads. etc.

And the current plethora of polls gives us a rich lode of information on what voters are thinking at each stage of the campaign. But political polls are imperfect instruments. Reading them right is less a science than an art. We can trust the polls, with qualifications. We will have a chance to verify as the election returns come in.

A good editorial to read about the Polls for this election.

    Are the Polls Accurate?

Reading them right is more art than science.

    And that is why...

Conservatives' pessimism is conducive to their happiness in three ways. First, they are rarely surprised -- they are right more often than not about the course of events. Second, when they are wrong they are happy to be so. Third, because pessimistic conservatives put not their faith in princes -- government -- they accept that happiness is a function of fending for oneself. They believe that happiness is an activity -- it is inseparable from the pursuit of happiness.

No he didnt, but George and Jeb's first cousin John Ellis erroneously stated that Bush won Florida, which after the recount when they had a fair count, showed that Bush in fact lost by 23,000 votes. Republicans ran out the clock on the recount, and basically stole the election.

Ellis, btw, works for Roger Ailes, the director of Fox News.  But this is a discussion for another thread...

I have to call this out also.  How about a reputable reference?

Considering that about half a dozen reputable news agencies have reported the opposite after performing their own recounts, I'd like to see your source.

    - I don't know, but some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don't they?

Sure. Here's one from an independent source (ie, not liberal or conservative.)

    www.consortiumnews.com/2001/111201a.html

"Gore won even if one doesn’t count the 15,000-25,000 votes that USA Today estimated Gore lost because of illegally designed “butterfly ballots,” or the hundreds of predominantly African-American voters who were falsely identified by the state as felons and turned away from the polls."

i think people are pretty much set on who they are gonna vote for, doesn't matter what dirt people dig up at this point.  Personally i think most are voting not because they like obama, just they hate repubs even more because of bush hehe.  That's why the Elections to me anymore seem like reality t.v, like American idol or something.

I think it depends on how many blue precincts have rigged voting equipment.  Frankly, I think it's going to be somewhat closer than we think.

I'm sorry...but do any of you actually participate in watching the election coverage?  I mean from previous elections?   Or are all of your memories that bad?

Bush led all of October up until 2-3 days before the election where Gore polled even.

    Dekron?  Faxxer?  Response?

I believe they were calling for an official source - such as the court documents.

I'm sure he will lose. We will have history repeat itself from 2004. I expect a new video of Osama Bin Laden to appear this weekend or next week and McCain will announce his protection of Americans. People will get spooked and think another 9/11 will happen with Obama and do  a fear vote.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

There may be another video, but this time threatening an attack if Obama doesn't win. That is truly the only way he can win - instilling fear into everyone.

So what two to three states that are leaning towards Obama (5+ point edge) are going to bounce to McCain for him to win?

Virginia?  Iowa?  Colorado?  Minnesota?  Michigan?  Maine?  Ohio? Please, I'm all ears.

Oh yes, McCain also has to win in Florida, North Carolina and Missouri and Nevada.  And he's losing in all four.

Again, this election is seeing the largest numbers of early voters in the history of Presidential elections and Obama is KILLING so far.  Quinnipac and Big 10 Battleground polls have Obama up +12 and +14 in Ohio.  I'm not saying he wins by that but he doesnt need to win it by that.  He needs to win by 1.  You think McCain is going to make up the spread?  Really?

Can i have some of what you are smoking? lol

I'm definately not voting for Obama - there is no chance in hell. I may vote for McCain simply as a vote against Obama. But one thing I am sure of and that is how much I am going to enjoy the looks on people's faces and the cries of racism, unfairness and whatever other pathetic excuses will be tossed around when Obama loses.
