    That means that the T4 campaign is either bugged or assinine.

    Mythic will not tell me how the zone control work.  They give me nothing, I give them no time.  Simple as that.

    I agree it would be nice if it was more clear.   But below is a long post, a little write up I've done for my guild site, from participating in some RvR and talking with some of the RvR leaders on our server.   Hope at least it will clear up some of the mechanics - it is best we've been able to figure out, so not trying to imply I'm an expert by any means.   Abridged somewhat to remove server specific data.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    BASIC EXPLANATION

    ================

    -Destruction has to lock down one of the uncontested zones (any), then they have to lock down one of the racial zones in T4 (dwarf, empire or elf) to be able to attack the Fort in that racial zone which then leads to an attack on Altdorf.

    -By lock down - I mean that the bar on the meter (turn on the option of zone control on your maps), is pushed past the "pin" or pointer for the opposing faction. Both zones must have this reached combined at the same time in order to open up a Fortress attack.

    "Why are we running back and forth all the time?":

    -About 60% of the bar movement (victory points) comes from controlling Keeps, and ALSO battle objectives. So one way to keep this from happening is to continue to cap BO's even if you can't take the keeps.

    -About another 40% comes from T3 spillover, PQ and quest completion in that zone, Scenario win for THAT MAP ONLY (i.e. Serpents passage wins, contribute VP's towards Dragonwake), and from enemy kills. So another reason to run back and forth, is to avoid feeding them enemy kills when they are making a serious attempt at zone control

    -The final reason tied into above - is that if you split up your warbands, and go after multiple zones/objectives at once, then you can split up the Destruction zerg and get some even footing matches. If you play on their terms, being outnumbered, zerg vs zerg they will win. However tactically they can be defeated by forcing them to break up the zerg.

    FORTRESS ASSAULT - IF THEY GET THERE

    ==================================

    -Should both zones be locked down, they Destruction has 1 hour only to take the Fortress

    -Should they fail - the bar in the previous racial tier is reset, and they are knocked back to the bar in the uncontested zone. So basically they have to start all over.

    -The NPCs in the Fortress are very tough as well. You must have many people with decent gear to have a realistic chance. It takes time.

    -Note on the gear: each of the end game set pieces (starting with Annihilator) gives a 10% Ward for Fortress attacks. This is not listed anywhere on the gear so there isn't a way to know. These wards stack, so 3 pieces wold give you a 30% damage reduction (Ward) against damage from the NPCs in the Fortress. The gear is the set pieces that drop from not only Keep Lords in T4, but also the PvE end game dungeons such as Bastion Stair, Sygmar's Crypt and Warp Blade Tunnels.

    What happens if they take the Fortress? Then they have to take the city, if they do then our city status is knocked back. However I hope you all can see this is a very difficult challenge for either side - as on top of above, it is very easy to stack choke points in the Fortresses to supplement those extremely challenging NPCs. One would almost have to be asleep at the wheel for either side to breeze through and tackle this. I personally think it may be some time before it happens - unless somehow one side gets a large mass of geared people together at 3:00am on a weeknight. Even so - it will take time to get that gear - we had about 100ish take on the Destruction side fortress in T4 last weekend, and the NPCs alone wiped the raid multiple times before the hour was up.

    This part that I left in is the problem.

    I have seen a numbe rof crazy maps.  Destro with t1-t3 capped in every zoen and every BFO capped and no zone control.  That sort of thing.  Then look at the scenario requirements, that takes people out of the RvR lakes.

    Now look at the valid tactics Steelguru has come up with.  And then ask yourself why people complain about the lack of RvR.

    That 40% is not designed in a sane manner when you consider the goals of the game.  Almost every part of it take people out of the RvR zones or encourages them to move around constantly.

    I'm gonna have to agree i tried to like this game but really i just can't, the RVR doesn't exist and the scenarios are boring. honestly the world feels really empty there are no reasons to even go into the RVR area. heh i joined a core server b/c i thought it was gonna be hell out side of town and i don't think I've seen maybe 10 destruction players.

    i wont be renewing i might come back after the 1.1 patch but who knows.

    My problem with RVR is it tells you who the bad guys are. Tells you who your supposed to fight, so you end up fighting people just because your "supposed to"

    Thats why I prefer FFA PVP, its the only way you can have true politics. Only way you actually fight for a reason and not because the game tells you to
