What is your one piece of advice to the development team of ST:tor?

What is your one piece of advice you would give to Bioware and/or Lucasarts, the creators of the upcoming knights of the old republic mmo?

Mine would have to be:

DO NOT, do not do not do not do not release the game until it is a finished product.  Please do not follow the current trend of mmos to be released too buggy and unfinished.

One thing? The obvious, and most important:

Let humanoid female characters wear the slave outfit as a customization option.

Include some of the great SWG elements such as it's profession system, crafting, and housing.

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
    Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

Honestly, quit amking the game drop it and allow for a better and more STAR WARS focused game.

Don't listen to the effing SWG vets who think that they are owed something

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Ignore every rant and whine and fit that is posted in this forum. Seriously, just make sure the game has a good story. The graphics should be second to the story.

Agreed.. best peice of advice. =)

I don't know, I would ask them to really focus on endgame content and create enough for us who don't want to race to max level and then just re-roll. I like the idea of replayability, but I'm not an altaholic.. I want to work hard to claim my "hero" status, I want a challenge along the way, and then I want to have enough content there to last months, and hopefully years..

Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV

Do not go after WoW. You're just going to hurt yourself and your game just like every other game that's tried and failed.

What do you have against Gungans? Despite the hate felt for such the loveable character I quite like Jar jar and his kind... theysa all cute and funnisa.

But to go back on topic.... as for a sugesstion: do not overly rely on instancing; instancing has its place but the majority of the world should be non-instanced... is that the right word? freeform perhaps? Well whatever the opposite to instancing is titled, that.

Do not make it gear based!!!!! Im not saying level based but GEAR BASED!!! Great difference!

I dont want to see flashy and shiny gear all over the place whenever i get a new level, the same things is with swords and rifles!

Did you see Conan changing his sword whenever he got a level, ahem i mean grew older... NO! His sword cut through hundreds of opponents, yes his only sword and i want that, to say "hey i have this rifle this whole time and i never want to change it", the same is with gear... its not hat hard to do... just dont put "magical" gear in SW game!!

Your target audience is not the whole world. Your target audience is mainly Star Wars fans. That is my obvious observation ^^

Well no. They just need to make a game that has Star Wars spirit in it.

Get rid of the Companion mechanic they are boasting about .. this will be a western fail with it.

Really dont matter what they do all the SWG vets will not get the game they long for and the tears will still be flowing here.

But I love the companion feature! It's there to judge the way you interact with situations.

If you are going to make it a Wow clone. You better at least make it work correctly. I have no doubts Bioware will make it a great game ... but it better be released in good condition not broken.

I'd say put a strong focus on the morality system. That just hasn't been done in an MMO yet, at least not to any great degree. I'm not talking about faction or reputation, I'm talking about decisions between right and wrong, good and bad, ethical and unethical. Mass Effect, despite being a beautiful game, was a disappointment with regard to the morality system. Picking the ''bad'' options in conversations yielded exactly the same results as picking the "good" options (the NPCs you were speaking with even responded with the exact same lines of dialogue). I assume that was to decrease the cost of development, but the morality aspect of BioWare games has always been what I liked best about them; the gameplay and plot points have been secondary concerns.

If the Old Republic team can't manage to really develop the morality system with vigor, depth, and extensive variety, I'd just as soon they abandon the project altogether and apply the resources to Jade Empire 2 , Dragon Age, Pac Man 3000, or anything else.
