It is based on the Unreal engine 3.0 which is a good working engine, not the best because it has flaws but is a working engine. I think starvault has the upper hand against DFO in this.
Not as much features as DFO . I'm a realist and i like to be realistic.There have been so much mmo's that have had to much promises and never made it true. I think mortal online didn't had boats or directly sieges. I think they said it would be after launch but basically what i am saying is that they use the core and then add later more which is the best. Another mmo that is doing this is TCOS which i find great since it doesn't need to rely on those high promises.
Overall i hope both will be good but the truth is i will only play DFO if it has decent animations because currently the animations aren't good and before the low IQ fanboys attacks.
Animations do not give drops in FPS. They have nothing to do with graphics. I repeat: THEY DO NOT DROP FPS ! I have worked with some programs and people who say that animations cause lag etc. do not know what they are talking about!

More out of the box mmo's are welcomed and i hope the idiots called fanboys of every damm game like WOW, DFO or what ever will not flame it because it should not be. Before you begin generalizing the IQ of those you do not know it would be best to take a step back and evaluate things. I am a fan of DarkFall and I also wish the best for both games however I am looking forward DarkFall but not MO.
Full Loot is a needed component in an MMO that goes sandbox for the simple fact it adds a penalty to death as well as stimulates the economy. With out full loot the in game economy eventualy becomes stagnent. Most of what you can find or sale are already for sale at a much lower price than it costs to craft many of said items because there is an abundance of them already flooding the market. With item destruction combined with full loot this doesn't happen in general.
I aplaud Darfall for it's long list of features, but I will most lkely pass due to my unhappiness with the graphic stylings of the game. ( I will wait till it releases for a final decision)
Mortal Online with a similar feature set and much more apeasing (to me) graphic styling will be my choice for a new MMO.

Yeah it could be 1 person for all we know, anyone can make a website and claim that they are developing a game; but one thing that gives it away is the item shop that they put up while the so called messiah game is in development. Lack of good games aka AOC was a failure, vanguard etc. War is solid and not bad but in my opinion, it's not something that is different enough to create a genre with more options. Do you have any tangible proof there is even a game under development? Because I joined their forums back in April and so far the only thing they've managed to produce was a single screenshot (which btw was also the one they used as wallpaper for their booth in Leipzig GC ).
Darkfall has released about 500 screenshots in various stages of development (not hiding behind the argument ' we can't show you because things may change '), a few videos, one fan-filmed actual live gameplay video, and generally seems like a game ready to launch.
I don't hold anything against MO, in fact i'd like it to be real, but so far the development studio has shown nothing to prove this.

DF isn't coming out this year and if you actually believe so you are delusional. I actually think MO will release before DF(If DF ever actually releases, lmao). And the beta for MO will start sometime this year, as soon as the netcode is finished by the U3 guys(not the MO guys.)I'll bet my left nut that MO beta comes before DF beta.
DF doesn't have a release date. MO does have a general area which is Summer 2009. Since they are using the best engine on the market(U3, don't bother saying DF's is better, nobody would pay 400,000USD for DF's)and they have been in development since 2005 they should be able to make it.

And not only that but MO's concept is better, fully FPV with real-time combat. DF promises everything under the sun, and there's no way in hell they are going to deliver on that.

it is very weird not to show screenshots at this stage, yet launch an online shop and prepare for release in the Summer of 2009; something is not right with Star Vault...
Before you begin generalizing the IQ of those you do not know it would be best to take a step back and evaluate things. I am a fan of DarkFall and I also wish the best for both games however I am looking forward DarkFall but not MO.
Full Loot is a needed component in an MMO that goes sandbox for the simple fact it adds a penalty to death as well as stimulates the economy. With out full loot the in game economy eventualy becomes stagnent. Most of what you can find or sale are already for sale at a much lower price than it costs to craft many of said items because there is an abundance of them already flooding the market. With item destruction combined with full loot this doesn't happen in general.
I aplaud Darfall for it's long list of features, but I will most lkely pass due to my unhappiness with the graphic stylings of the game. ( I will wait till it releases for a final decision)
Mortal Online with a similar feature set and much more apeasing (to me) graphic styling will be my choice for a new MMO.
I think both games will do well for thier own reasons. I also like the fact that niether one is based off of a major IP, so far all these (Major IP based MMO's) MMO's have sucked.... at least I think so whether others do or not!
Mortal Online is an online T-shirt selling company, it's not a real game; the reason you are seeing so many Mortal Online posts pop up everywhere is because they want exposure and exposure equals more T-shirt sales.
Mortal Online has what? 1 crappy cinematic vid and no in game screenshots; and yet people are comparing it to Darkfall which has houndred's of screenshots, and several movies. DF has been in development way longer and has a ton of info you can dig through.
Mortal Online at the moment is vapor, just because a few people quack like ducklings about it that does not change the reality.

They are pushing for late dec 08 as the release date it wont be a year.
maybe they just don't want any other MMOs to steal what they are creating alot of gaming companies have been known too do this... persay if they throw up a bunch of screenies and give out there features and how they work 10 months before there release then that gives another MMO in development time to cash in on there ideas... I think thats what DFO is trying to do keep everything quiet untill a month before launch I bet by the end of nov you will be hearing alot from DFO community and game creators.

Yeah it could be 1 person for all we know, anyone can make a website and claim that they are developing a game; but one thing that gives it away is the item shop that they put up while the so called messiah game is in development. Worse of the worse never did this, not even Mourning and Dark and Light and this is scary because it makes Mortal Online look ten times worse.

Maybe when Mortal comes up with a gameplay video, or at the very least few actual screenshots, I might take that game seriously. That cinematic video means nothing.
Edit: Mortal community are bunch of carebears, and since its devs seem to listen to their community, I see the game going down the same road in the future. Funny thing is, the very first members their forum had, were from DF forums. Now hardly anyone from DF visits their site.

As I have said before.... How well did launching screenshots do for SWTOR..?? The forums lit afire with OMG we hate the graphics!! You know, there are allot of things that are killing the genre. Lack of good games aka AOC was a failure, vanguard etc. War is solid and not bad but in my opinion, it's not something that is different enough to create a genre with more options. The genre is stale and another reason it is stale are the terrible communities. Best example of terrible communities are DarkFall online,mapplestory, world of warcraft and runescape.

Do you have any tangible proof there is even a game under development? Because I joined their forums back in April and so far the only thing they've managed to produce was a single screenshot (which btw was also the one they used as wallpaper for their booth in Leipzig GC ).
Darkfall has released about 500 screenshots in various stages of development (not hiding behind the argument ' we can't show you because things may change '), a few videos, one fan-filmed actual live gameplay video, and generally seems like a game ready to launch.
I don't hold anything against MO, in fact i'd like it to be real, but so far the development studio has shown nothing to prove this.

Darkfall, Mortal Online, Earthrise, Crusades and Fallen Earth shouldn't be hated on, cause these games are a victory for the sandbox fan and the players that want meaningful pvp.
