For those that had ALREADY desided to pay on montly basis (was an option in account) this has now been CHANGED.
You will have recived a E-mail telling you about this changes. I thought Mythic was above this low tactics to get free money but.... obviously not...
So go into your account and chancel subscription if you dont want to be charged automaticly forever - when you thought you were manually subing for the account on monthly basis.

I don't understand what you are complaining about.
Even if they did have a one-month and off option, and they DID take it away, the current language is VERY clear. And hell, if they did change it like you say, they sent you an e-mail warning you about the change, so I really don't understand why you are complaining.
Besides, almost every other MMO out there uses a recurring billing cycle, it's the industry standard. Hell, I don't even remember there being a single month and off option and I've been subbed since release, it's certainly possible but I don't recal it being there in the first place. My personal opinion is that you must have misunderstood, or misread something and got mad when you found out that, like just about every other MMO out there, the sub options are all recurring billing cycles. It's almost unheard of to have a non-recurring sub option....in fact, I don't think I've every seen such an option in any MMO out there. And again, what's it matter when they sent you an e-mail to warn you about it?
Here's how it looks now (and how it's always looked as far as I can remember), seems painfully clear, and they obviously aren't trying to get anything over on anyone....

Every MMO I have ever played from UO, DAOC, LOTRO, WoW, AoC, TR, EvE, EQ, EQ2, AC, AC2 etc etc have all auto renewed at the end of the month. This is standard practice and tells you that when you enter your information.
Its so lazy people dont have to go back to their website, reenter the information, and then resubscribe every 30 days. Granted it has the added benefit of getting revenue from people to lazy or forgetful to cancel... but it more or less balances out.

haha not to my knowledge, all the games i played charge same time every month:P in fact i think majority of them in the small print tell you that they will charge and to cancel if you dont want to be hit:)
The diffrence is that when you bought your last montly sub there was an option to buy it WITHOUT Automaticly subing every month. There was a SPECIAL button for that and those that think they will not be charged because of that WILL be charged now.
That is in my opinion a VERY low blow from Mythic.
But if they sent that same email to everyone that had the option selected, then it isn't a problem.
Simply don't see the big deal here.
Umm, yeah, but like you said, they warned you about it via e-mail. If you don't like it, just cancel your subscription at the end of the month. It isn't a low blow, it's just following what every other MMO I have ever played has done, as per industry standard.
It's hardly a low blow, ESPECIALLY when they gave you ample warning via e-mail. I can understand if they didn't warn you at all, but you even said they sent you an e-mail.

Ok I dont normally bit but this time I will.
You have no idea what you are talking about,if you went to cancel your account you were told you dont have to as you never had the auto renew enabled,now 3 or 4 days before player's account is going to end they have started to auto enable there accounts so they not only were lied too they are now getting there accounts changed without the player doing it for themselve's.
LoL to you that seems uncool to complain and the 1s that do are just guys that want to seem cool...

my type of players? what type would that be? and have you even read any of my post history, i am VERY critical of games, got banned several times for calling out AoC. But this is just nitpicking.

Mythic probably pulled that option because people were not making use of it...
Perhaps it was there so that people could choose to go two months, rather than have to resubscribe/unsubscribe for the 1-3 months they wanted to try it out... Many people feel 1 month isn't enough time to "try" and MMO...
The option itself doesn't sound like it was meant to be there longterm.

Im sorry that my opinion is that this is a low blow. Why do I think so ? Cause I clicked this SPECIAL otpion to NOT get automatic subbed again. I expected that to stand and I expect 1000s of ppl are expecting that. PPL that maybe have ALREADY quit the game or have mail from WAR set on junkmail.
Yes - My opinion is clear - it has NOTHING to do what I think about the game. It has to do about my money and my choise that I already took in the account page about 1 month ago. I find that to be a disgrace from Mythic to do this. That will stand.
Trying to be logical on a gaming message board is a waste of your time.
No WAR fanboi or MMO fanboi wants to hear that the contract they purchased just got changed on them. I personally don't think it is a major deal but the fact that you purchase a monthly subscription only to have an option disabled for you to cancel payment before resubbing is the problem.
This industry is allowed to get away with so much BS because there is almost no legislation protection the consumers. One day that may change, but it won't be for quite a while.

and who asked you to get into this thread? i don't see you being invited by the OP specifically. and i agree, a warning is fine, BUT, at the same time, if they do NOT have access to their email, what makes you think they will have access to this website?
Because there is a chance a friend may see it and warn them.
