Yep, these SS look just fine to me.
They seem to be treading a nice line bewteen cartoon and realism stylistically, which appeals to me personally, and look immersive enough to satisfy, while keeping the system demands low enough for PvP.

The point of my post was not "screenshots suck!". They do look outdated but I don't care about graphics, only gameplay. And I've seen many very nice screenshots of DF so it's difficult to say what the graphics will be like.
My point was: why do they keep feeding us this same old crap? Who cares about screenshots? Everyone knows DF is not supposed to be about graphics, so why do we keep getting only screenshots? I want to know about the content and features. I want to see how the combat, skills or crafting works. I want to see a massive pvp battle. I want to see something other than a boring screenshot by a cartoonist.
Yeah I don't understand the graphics complaint, it looks average or maybe even slightly better than most mmorpgs to me. They are much better than the most popular mmorpgs.

The graphics looks good to me, you didn't expect it to look better than single player games like Fallout 3, did you?
No but you'd expect them to look better than games built 6 years ago.
They don't even use simple bump mapping or the now standard normal mapping on objects and models for christs sake which gives things 100x more detail without adding anymore polygons or affecting performance.
This games engine looks like a dinosaur.
The graphics look beyond terrible for a game coming out in 2009.

it all comes down to if darkfall has a smooth start or it will fail like aoc cause of todays community people will still play if the graphics are even worse but they look decent to me for a mmorpg at least

In my eyes it seems like the people who come to this board trying to flame the game are running out of material. In every thread I'm guranteed to read something about poor graphics, vaporware/vaporfall, and/or "lolnopreorderz".
Great to see another revolutionary next generation feature demonstrated, shadows you can turn on and off.
But no Goblins this time, again, so I’m not a happy camper, hopefully next time.
Good to finally start hearing stuff about the starting areas and the starting quests, I was worried that they would continue to only showcase the major features, content and game play and ignore the early game experience and the basics.
