I said it was only by a month, so if they do launch on 22nd of Feb its not a major delay, but still technically this is a launch delay, not Darkfalls first launch announcement as it has been presented.
Most of the supporters who were declaring Darkfall definitely would end open beta and launch in 2008 as Aventurine themselves said it would have conveniently forgotten about that and seem to be pretending it did not happen.
Now they are all getting excited about this next date, ignoring the fact it could just be delayed again, just as the official launch within 2008 has been delayed.
Nothing really more to say then we will see what the game is like on or before Jan 22nd, and we will know finally know the truth, or the game will be delayed again and we wont.

Judging from the GNi email, and the interview talking about "getting partners up to speed" I'd say the delay is more their fault than Aventurine's, but thats pure speculation.

Im sorry I guess I assumed Oct. came after April and May. If I am correct that Oct. does come after April and May (Which you do not seem to believe) then I will repost.

once again, polar tries to turn the tiniest things into some great deception conspiracy.

 

i hope you get to run your own company some day where you get to work with half a dozen suppliers and collaborators, all with their own agendas, problems and delays, would love to hear about your experiences.

I am saying they did not lie as you claim.  If you wish to say they lied which is it? They lied about being commited to a 2008 launch? We can't prove that, just because it's not launching in 2008 does not mean Aventurine wasn't commited to a 2008 launch. Or are you saying they lied about the Oct. 31st announcement where they said the launch date is subject to marketing considerations?

Does it really matter? So we're getting the release on month later than they said before. I really don't see a problem. You can make a mistake if you announce the date (to be inside 2008) wrongly in April, but you can't announce a date wrongly one month before it's set (saying in december the game will launch on a spcific date in January).

I'm happy with the date and most people here seem to agree on that.

 

Announcing the year in which the game appears and beeing wrong? Very common in this branche.

Setting a spcific date and then not staying true to it...? Veeery unlikely.
