The vapourware trolls, and others, will always find something to complain about, it's the nature of the beast. I guarantee, if forced to, they will complain about the number of colour options available at char creation if that is all that is left open to them.
Polarisation, seriously, all you are doing atm is digging a big pit of looser sauce, any deeper and your head will sink beneath its surface. If you are intent on bashing the game, get back in your box till the 22nd of next month and come back guns blazing, Until then, all those looking forward to DF will not hear your laments given that DF is now almost in our grasp and the wait almost over.

I think it's hilarious the only thing vaporware trolls can do now is complain that Tasos is such a liar . First he said Darkfall would be released by the end of 2008, but than the final announcement says the game will launch in Europe on Jan 22. What a conspiracy! LOL.
I know last summer I planned on going on a vacation, but with the economy buckling i had to change my plans. I'm hoping to go this summer instead. It doesn't mean I conspired to lie to the people I had told about my plans. It just means that sometimes outside influences determine that you change your plans.

Exactly, they made the 2008 commitment in April and May. Then they recieved a publisher in August that same year. Oct 31st Tasos said that they couldn't announce a release date due to marketing consideration. Open beta would end early december and launch would follow either Directly or shortly after. Exact quote.....
"The announcement during ADW was that the open beta phase is scheduled to end early in December. More importantly this means that the game will be ready to release at that point. Marketing consideration kept us from just announcing a release date. The game will be ready for release, and the launch may follow directly, or shortly after, depending on the marketing landscape at the time. Obviously the earlier the better for us, but there are a lot of things needing coordination for the launch, internal and external. So our side of things (meaning the development end) will be ready."
If things change and you are given the reason behind it, I realy don't see how anyone can consider that a lie. It's a lie if there stated intentions were never there intentions.
Jan. 22 2009 seems to be shortly after Dec. 2008 to me lol.
To all you non-believers, from the grapevine info in beta, its ready to launch today; therefore, the announcement is more than plausible, it is the plain truth...

They likely aren't doing pre orders, as pre orders are just a big market scam you've been buying into for years.
Also, plenty of people have played the game... in fact a great number of people.

Is there even really a need for pre-orders now days? I mean if game stop runs out OMG what are you going to do????? Easy check online for a digital download or an online store that sales the game. I know I know Digital Downloads can take awhile and waiting 4 days for a delivery from Amazon.com or Overstock.com is just unbearable. Patience is not only a Virtue but it can save you a bit of cash some times lol.

... I've got a bad feeling about DF launch. Maybe its because I just got burned with GTA4 on the PC. Also DF development and silence of lack of beta leaks makes me worry. How many hardware configuration has this been tested on ? Damn I'm havin' VG flashbacks.. need .... to.... take.... my... medication....
Still there is plenty eager-types here to leap right in. Let me know how it goes. I am sure you will... unless it either so horrrible you commit suicide or so great you never frequent MMORPG again.
Vanguard suffered due to lack of development time, just like Shadowbane, Dark & Light, SWG, Horizons and a dozen other failed mmos. You only get once launch and if you release and unfinished game its just not going to work.
Am I nervous now a month before Darkfalls launch? Hell yes this is the most important mmo in the history of mmos, if this fails funnily enough Darkness will Fall over the entire industry. With the considerable failures of AoC and WAR it is now time to show that Shadowbane only failed due to a way to early launch and Darkfall is the game to show that.
We know now for sure that WoW clones don't work even if they are launched as finished products simply because WoW has already perfected that type of mmo and its like building a new mountain next to mount Everest thinking your going to get lots of tourism.
Will Darkfall be good? I don't know I've not played it yet. Do I think it will be good? Yes I do, it has to be.
Cant wait til its released.

If after launch, DF is all it's cracked up to be, I'll admit I was a doubter and will celebrate a great MMO. If not, well... that's just one more game to add to the growing list of crappy games that were released buggy, unfun, and unfinished.

i predict three events on or by Jan 22nd:
1. DF will not launch on Jan 22nd
2. There will be no open beta by Jan 22nd
3. The NDA will still be in effect on Jan 22nd
And still, #2 and #3 combined will not be enough of a red flag for the deluded fanbois. The excuses on behalf of Tasos will come pouring in.

It's funny that people are still trying to troll this game, which is just proof that their winning personalites have kept them from being part of the larger guilds that have members in the closed beta. People are in the beta guys, it's not a giant conspiracy, and there is info out there to disprove the trolls if you dig around for it or know the right people. All these troll losers will be the biggest fans when DFO launches and they'll be too dumb to realize what tremendous hypocrites they have been.

You morons have inadvertently been advertising DFO for Aventurine for years now. All your BS aside, you know that Jan. 22nd is the first official release date Aventurine has announced, yet you pretend that isn't the case. Go lie somewhere else.

First off let me say that I had never even heard of Dark Fall until about a month ago. I was playing a crappy little free to play game that some of you may know called Perfect World...don't even get me started on THAT.
So I'm sitting there wishing for some better game when I hear that the leader of the faction that my faction is at war with is going to go to some game called "Dark Fall". I had been patiently awaiting Aion and still am.
But I go and start checking out DFO and to my astonishment I find a game that reminds me SOOO much of UO in its Glorious past that I begin to drool. Then I read the name of the world "Agon". Something stirs inside me as if soon I will be going "home". You see when I played UO it was the only mmo on the market and my first lesson in learning that even though a place may not exist on our plane of "reality" and only exists in cyberspace, it can still become "home" to you. I can't tell you how much I miss playing UO and I only quit when they COMPLETELY changed the game up over night. Those of you old school UO players know exactly what I'm talking about and to those of you that didn't play let's just use today's terminology and say that they "nerfed" the ENTIRE game. Anyway, I digress.
I really just want to say that those of us that the trolls call "fanboys", for the most part, remember UO fondly and only stopped playing because Origin refused to keep up with the times graphics wise and also completely changed the game...you remember when you came online and all your vanq and power swords suddenly had numbers everywhere? Then every mmo in the world went to the number leveling system and stopped the thief class and player looting because the so called "hardcore" pvp'rs whined when they died and all their stuff was jacked. To me if you don't want the option of TOTAL LOOTING when you die AND xp or xp in skills lost when you die to ANYTHING, player or otherwise, then don't call yourself a HARDCORE pvp'r cause really all you are is a QQ'ing CAREBEAR.
Now comes Dark Fall. And those of you that played UO when it was UO can attest to the fact that this is really a BETTER , hopefully, remake of that world. Now there has been a tremendous amount of flaming about DFO. All I have to say about that is that I realize that most of you have been waiting for years for this and I can sympathize with you on all the delays. However, sometimes we need to look beyond what we know as reality to the supernatural for a "sign". And the one sign that may have escaped my UO brothers and sisters is hiding in XAleX360's post in the first pic of the Adventurine sign. I choose to take it as a GOOD omen about us finally going home. Look at the name of the company right beside the Number 2 on that pic and tell me it doesn't make you think it's a good Omen...tell me it's not ordained by fate...because the name of it is...

Whats the point in arguing all this stuff now...wait for open beta and dropping of NDA then let both sides have at it.......At this point nothing has happened but a release date....We have alot less info on DF than we ever did on AoC or WAR a month before release so that cant be a good thing.....It still seems like they are hiding something.
