Personally I felt like it was the same old game. I don't pay for my account and I didn't buy WoTLK myself either but I even though I can play for free I don't log on. I just can't get into WoW anymore. I wish Blizzard would of come up with at least some type of alternate advancement instead of this "10 more levels of quests" crap that we have been doing for YEARS.
Since you didn't buy WotLK. And didn't even experience its NEW content, Battlegrounds, phasing and very good designed quests.
You have absolutely NO idea what you're talking about.
So your opinion is meaningless, based on thin air.

Typical example of a WoW-worshipping cultist who tosses personal attacks at anyone who dares say they aren't enjoying WoW, regardless of whether they type it out in a mature manner. In a thread asking other players as to whether they've been enjoying WOTLK or not.
I'm enjoying it, but then, I have been playing since February 2005 and only have 1 level 70, and I decided to wait a month before getting WotLK, which helped reduce competitive crowds for slow respawns.
Bottom line, I'm a casual player, and while I am still annoyed that I will probably never see the inside of most dungeons due to my time constraints (I have 4-6 hours a week at most to play, and to really see all of that you need 4-6 hours a day, obviously) I'm finding the expansion to be a lot of fun. But again, I haven't burned out on it as badly as many others have...
My wife, who has 4 level 70's and spent approximately 2/3rd of 2006/2007 playing this game is already done with WotLK and sick of the whole game. So.....I guess she got her time to money value?

This is exactly the situation I find myself in. People seem to think casual goes hand-in-hand with 'dumbed down' and 'ezmode'. No. It means it's tailored for people who don't have the time to sit at their computer screen for 8+ hours a day, grinding through content like their lives depend on it.
If that's your prerogative then fine. Just don't whine about it when you've hit end game after a fortnight and 90% of the population are still in the starting zones.

Actually, they've really made it much easier to do a dungeon in an hour or two. Most can be done in an hour or less now. There is just no Shadow Labs or Botanica that has endless waves of trash and nonsense. Most are around the length of Black Morass or Mechnar.
They just really cut down on the trash. The boss fights are still mostly difficult, but it's often 3-5 trash pulls between bosses now. 7-10 is REALLY pushing it. There's nowhere like shadow labs where it's 15 trash pulls to first boss, 10 to next boss, 10 to next boss, and 10 to final boss. In fact one instance you walk out of a boss room straight into another boss fight.
It's pretty cool. The less trash makes the pulls much more interesting, and the instances themselves can now be seen much quicker. There's still a few that take a while (Oculus is a bitch, until you learn it, period, the end) but overall I'd say that you should venture into a few to test the waters, so to speak.
Yes, if your wife is a hardcore player she's in trouble, and when I was in college I admit I would have been frustrated as hell with WotLK (they've taken out all the filler that used to make instances take forever) but now that I have a job, I'm finding it very easy to play WotLK for a few hours each night and on the weekend and still maintain decent progress.

Against my better judgement I bought WotLK and got exactly what I expected. I've spent a lot of time on WoW on and off over the past few years and can safely say I'm done with it. WotLK is simply more of the same, which is great if you like that stuff and it hasn't grown stale on you yet. But that's not me. The one thing I liked though was moving the "action" back to Azeroth, and what I saw of the environments was pretty well done considering the game's age, so kudos to Blizzard on that.
Though I can safely say the next few times I touch a Blizzard game the title will start with an S or a D, rather than a W.
Reread what you just wrote in the red ... and ask yourself why does a Wow player reacts when a dude comes along saying he doesn't like WotLK when he even stated he didn't even bought WotLK. Yep it's always the Wow boys and Blizzard that are responsible your servers are empty in the games you love )) We are used to the hate, but I never feel compelled to bow for shit either.
I didn't buy WoTLK but my Account does have WoTLK on it. I still find the expansion to be boring and more of the same.
Sorry if that conflicts with your views but personally I think your views are highly tainted. You also try to claim that WoW's Arena system is a great PVP system.

Boring old game is boring and old - and also now too skilless and unrewarding Cancelled warcraft sub and happily doing mass PVP in Warhammer
Happily doing mass PvP in what ???
The Wow's PvP gear and season only begins on Dec 17th and you are leaving for a game with NO mass PvP, NO rated PvP gear, NO arena, NO choice of BG's in each tier and NON existent mass PvP ....
....except on a weekend between 08.PM and 09 PM and ONLY if you are lucky enough to find a group of 5 Order players foolish enough to defend a "knocking on door" Keep. Foolish because defending doesn't even give rewards.
Of course if you don't find those rare 5 Order players on a server, in a specific Tier in that time bracket, and by accident in a Keep, you'lre off to a whole new week of waiting to have "it" happen.
That 'it" you get 10 times each day in WotLK with controlled combats and tanks/artillery.
Wintergrasp is a joke, it's carebear tripe made for kids to get a fake taste of mass PVP, but it's small numbers, doesn't change the game map, involves no tactics or skill, and is mostly about fisher price toy cars shooting at each other while noobs run around with tenacity buff lol'ing at the other noobs they can one-shot
I play on KEP server in Warhammer, and there's huge wars every night all over tier 4 in a game where class balance is much better than WoW's and tanks with a shield have a role in pushing fronts, and there are group tactics more advanced than anything in WoW's faceroll kiddie PVP
5 entire game zones taken over in the last week, huge battles all over the place (and lots of whining) and a fortress siege so big that it crashed the server
Too bad your perfect game doesn't even have a working endgame, servers all over the world crashing all the time during fortress fights, people having insane lag, clipping range for enemies reduced to a point you could run through whole warbands without seeing eachother.
Rofl, check around, this is common through many servers and global (US and EU) *and* acknowledged by MJ. Your precious game doesn't even have workable endgame right now and the "PvP" that is there on many servers consists of Chaining scenario's one after another because OrvR is empty or when it isn't playing "Musical keeps" taking empty keep after empty keep avoiding tthe enemy as much as possible just like the enemy is doing to farm bags for loot.
Nice to see that the WoW fanboi vs WAR fanboi mess of massive exaggerations and nerd rage is still thundering onwards at full speed.
I see your point. Sad, isn't it?
There ARE still some of us that play WoW (amongst other games), that don't really give two poops and a feck what anyone else thinks about it. LOL
I don't care if someone plays WAR, AoC, whatever. Why does it matter so much to anyone, is what I don't understand. Why do WAR players CARE so much? Why do WoW players care so much? I play what I like. You should play what YOU like. I mean....whose paying the monthly fees for my games, or yours? I'm not sure I'll ever understand why this seems like such a big deal to people on this forum site. This particular forum site seems to have more seething hostility about it than any other.
I'm happy the WAR folks found a gaming home. I played it, it wasn't for me. I hope the Darkfall people love the HELL outta their game when it comes out....but that game....probably also not for me.
I do look forward to the releases of Aion, TCoS, and The Agency as my next possible companies to create another monthly bill for me. LOL But it certainly doesn't mean I won't continue to play other games I like TOO.
I wonder how LONG it's going to take in this world for people to realize that EVERYONE is different, and just because you're not "just like me" doesn't make you "bad," or "stupid," or a "n00b," or "ghey," or whatever other slanderous things the immature of the world like to say regarding others that don't agree with them on something.
Nice to see that the WoW fanboi vs WAR fanboi mess of massive exaggerations and nerd rage is still thundering onwards at full speed.
I know it's quite fun
The thing is, the two games are now in direct competition, and with wotlk being a weak xpac, warhammer is on the rise
Rofl, like people who don't like WOW/Wotlk automatically go to WAR. Unfortunately for you there's 0 indication for it considering all they're doing is transferring people to other servers, and then transferring those servers people to other ones again, lol.
I'd sooner believe they'll play some of the amazing non MMO games that have come out recently or MoM etc, I doubt the number of people who veer to WAR is very significant and even if they do, unless they fix their game, it won't last long
I hit 80 with my NE Druid, You are right the quests were better, especially the daily quests. I had no desire to lvl a DK, so when I saw them running around I was like Ehh.
I went back to EVE, I hope to join a new corp and I hope to build a player owned station. I just found that WOW was gonna burn me out again, and I didn't want to go through that hardcore addiction phase with PVE and PVP gear.
I will say though that the zones are way better looking then BC. The dungeons are way to easy though. Feral Druids still need work, we get owned by Paladins and Mages of any spec. Seems kinda unfair, unless someone can share with me something otherwise.

I would love a direct competition. At 63% marketshare and they with a 2.3% marketshare. And ONLY counting the western based subs, other wise it would be about 85% and 1% something.
They STILL believe that they can recruit bored Wow players in War instead of making a good polished game.
I wonder is Mr Greyhoof blind or is he paid to post here on Wow forums.
First he said he downed all bosses in WotLK after 5 days and now he says he never played it and hates it.
I wonder ... perhaps he doesn't play War either )
It's about the only thing logical, I can't see anyone wanting to play War again after having played the new WotLK PvP.
You know tanks Mr Greyhooff? Those things that do vroom vroom and shoot on mobile engines at ... destructable walls. Or do you still think that you can only enter a Keep through knocking at a door.
It must have been so expensive to make a wall that can collapse... Go play the cheap copy on the empty servers (90% total in EU), we play the real rated PvP.
So I don't get a reply to mine, where I systematically talk about your lies and misconceptions, but you troll-stalk this grehoof guy? Are the viral marketers trolling each other now?

Heuuh, we ARE in the Wow forums aren't we? Mr Greyhooff is very well known overhere for his addiction to Wow. He downed ALL content and bosses in its first 5 days...
Later admitting he didn't even play the game.... all on Wow forums.
And you call me (?) a troll ?
I killed all the bosses in wotlk, inc sart with 2 drakes up (not 3), never said otherwise
Most people who aren't in totally noob guilds have cleared all the content in wotlk, there's not much of it, and it's all easymode PVE made for housewives rather than gamers
You sure post a lot btw for someone who should be playing your old boring xpac kiddie game:)

So you don't have to reply to my post because this is the WoW forums? What does that mean? And I challenge you to provide proof that he said those things and did none of them, which you believe based on what you think he said, I guess you take the word of people you consider viral marketers especially when it suits your needs?
Also you didn't respond to me saying you lied and misunderstood things, but you are worried about me calling you a troll. I suppose that's what you're really worried about, being sniffed out as a troll?
I like both WAR and WoW, and I have to say that I wouldn't want you to represent the WAR playerbase's voice with your attitude, Greyhooff.
Neither game is particularly 'hardcore' if you take 'hardcore' to mean like the old MMOs. No game, not even the old MMOs, are that 'hardcore' anymore. Most have been made 'easier' to suit current trends and tastes in MMOs.
Back in EvE. Started with BatMUD. Main MMOs have been EvE and DAoC.
WoW is a great game, I enjoyed the pvp VERY much. I wasn't much of a raid person, something about wasting my time in instances bored me fighting npcs. Anyways, again WoW over all is a great game so please don't flame what I'm going to write. I uninstalled the game and I'm playing War atm and waiting for Darkfall. WoW hasn't been the same to me since before BC, remember no resist gear and having to rank up for pvp loot,no arena and flying mounts (that took away world pvp)? mmm the good old days. WoW is still a great game and has done a lot of things right but I'm bored of what it offers now and hope something else can pull me away and keep me away. As for now I'm having fun in War and hope Darkfall offers something different. I'm still tempted to play WoW and miss my lock but I do feel better since the game is uninstalled like I'm finally free.
It used to be a good PVE game when the PVE wasn't made to be completed with ease by housewives who are keeping an eye on their cooking
I actually had to check your profile to see if It would have anykind of indication about your age. I sure hope you are not 31 like your profile indicates since it would be shameful for my age bracket to have members like you.
a 31 old man calling himself a gamer? grow up. You might be a father, or a husband or a professional of whatever job you are, you might even be a player of your favorite team or individual sport, but anyone at your supposed age reclaiming the tittle gamer should seriously re-think his life.
going further, it is pretty awful to be 31 and induce others in error or mistake specially now when economy is in rumbles.
Maybe for your style of life spending almost 50 euros on a game to see what is all about is cool and stuff, but right now when i see the news , i'm seeing "ford fires 2zzzz" "volkswaggen/seat fire 2xxxx" . I have a job center near my houses, one in my home country and I can see an increasing number of people going to those places and even in brussels, belgium, where most of the times I work the sign of crisys is starting to be visible.
fact i also play warhammer and the game is not on the raise. In europe in particular warhammer is slowly dieying. In the US after some player bleeding, it apparently sustained a regular player base. but that is it.
For good or bad, the only mmorpg currently on the raise is WoW, since the supposed competition, AOC and WAR have and had axial problems. And those affected game population considerably while wow either sustained the same player base or expanded it with wotlk.
That is the empirical truth that any one can see by simply logging on the servers of the 3 games. Trying to negate that is like saying the the law of gravity is wrong.
to make things somewhat worse for warhammer, mythic's title is a niche game. that tries to cather the more pvp oriented mmorpg players . that are by default a small percentage. A large chunk of mmorpg's might have fun taking some keeps and zerging the opposition, but eventually they want a world to explore, quests, social activities and things similar.
at the same time the hardcore pvp'ers are always looking for the next big thing, and have really low "loyalty" to their games. As soon as a new pvp mmorpg game is out they will leave warhammer saying that real pvp and mass action is on (insert new game), the same way they left whatever game they were playing and said that "the real pvp is on wow"
At the same time the same housewifes, grannies and the likes or casual players that you look down repeatedly keep breathing life wow. those are , in the end, the steady customers that make or break a mmorpg.
And that is something that will never change, and why mmorpg's that make pvp their central axis will never become massive hits, and in fact tend to slim out with time.
I would love for warhammer to be everything I wanted but it is not. It is a watered down version of DAOC that has the objective of attracting the wow game players with the promisse of pvp instead of pve. Eventually it might become (with major work) a pretty decent game.Right now it is not.
So please, gain a little dorsal spine and a sense of honesty and stop trying to attract people to your favorite game with the promise of greatness when in fact things there are as bad or worse that they are in wow.
PVE in warhammer is as easy as it is in wow, but less immersive since the game is tailor made for pvp.
At the same time, the pvp system in warhammer is not only totally dependant on the player base and how large it is but also very similar to wow's old ranking system minus decay. if you play a lot, no matter how good or bad you are, you'll end up ranking up, the same way any player can level his toon from rank 1 to 40 or can level his character in wow from lvl 1 to lvl 80.
And if, for some reason, you play at off hours. there is very little to do.
If your faction is outnumbered server wise, the chances of seeing end game (and the end game on warhammer is attacking and capturing the opponents capital city and then raid this instances) are very small.
And despite what most people state, the actions of players in warhammer have minimal effects over the world. what happens is a mere transfer of ownership over some keeps and that is it.
bottom line: both games suck in a sense and bring very few new things. wotlk brings phasing that at least give the ideia that in some way the player changed something in the world and a few noveltry quest mechanics.

Yeah, WoW is a good PvE game, but the PvP is pretty meh.
Looking for something new.
It used to be a good PVE game when the PVE wasn't made to be completed with ease by housewives who are keeping an eye on their cooking

Better to have ezmode PvE than no PvE (WAR).
It gets hard to discuss WAR on it's merits huh, better to just rag on WoW instead
