Well I'm pretty skeptical about this game. It promisses a lot and is gonna try to be a Quake MMO for hard core PvP. Based on recent releases of games that have disappointed I'm seeing a common tactic in games. No open beta and no NDA dropping till the day the game is released or an Open beta that is very controlled and limited. So from the people in the know, when does the NDA drop and When is open beta? I did some searching on the net and couldn't find a lot of beta leaked info which makes me concerned that the game is running a pretty small closed beta. Another area for concern.

But to add to it, I think they said they might allow you to play it first before you buy it only if your a single parent who lives in the western part of the country who's state begins with the letter T. Thats what I heard atleast.
Most interesting bit of this interview is that the finance guy says that they have been getting government funding, probably EU funding to help boost the tech industry in Greece I would imagine.

For those that don't know how the EU works, nothing gets done in Europe that doesn't have some EC Grants.
Those grants are not given by the EC itself but by the Greek Government (which recieves money from the EC). So I'm assuming that Greek authorities saw some kind of working "client" from Aventurine before assigning any kind of funds. Of course that doesn't mean that the money went specifically to Darkfall or if it went to their "military" projects that their supposed to be working on. (again I'm not sure what Aventurine does besides DF).
Regarding DF, if people are so skeptical then just wait for the release. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, DnL was my mistake. So I'll just take the "patiently waiting" approach before diving in.
I dislike FFA PvP looting stuff but I love sandbox games, so I'm hoping that Darkfall will be successful, I want more sandbox games out there and more creativity. I might get my wish someday and get a PvE Sandbox title worth playing hehe

I think those that think this forum will be "normal" after release didn't spend much time in the Vanguard, PotBS, AoC, or WAR forums before release and the months afterward.
Vanguard's forums have returned to a mostly "normal" forums now, but it was many, many months afterwards before that happened.
The only way that the forum would be "normal" after release is if 100% of the people that tried it after release loved it and found all the features they were expecting to be 100% complete and to their expectations.
Now while it's true that there is a possibility that the above statement may indeed happen... I would be more surprised by that happening than my wife giving birth to a 5-headed hydra.
What is MMORPG going to do when DF comes out? the majority of the people come here to search DF, and most of us wont even be here to talk about it since we'll be playing the game most of the time. Maybe we should retire these DF forums in memory of the busiest times in MMORPG.

I'm sorry guys. In that latest vid the characters look like bumbling clowns. Art is infantile. Scenery lacks detail. Bore / LoL fest.
if thats seriously all your complaints, I mean go play AoC, I don't mean that in a mean way but you seem to put graphics in a high area, AoC has nothing BUT graphics, you'll LOVE that game!
Anyway, the graphics are medium/passable. Some parts are way above average (environments), and some parts (such as the animation) are REALLY bad.
And about beta,they've already been testing the game with PAYED TESTERS for about a year and they also utilize AI to test. They don't plan to find bugs in closed beta (it will be just for hardware testing and complaints normal people have (such as with the UI) that you can have a quick fix to) and open beta will be just for stress tests.
I don't know how long open beta will be, but from the above I deduced it was going to be 1 week, 2 weeks tops.

actully they are fixing bugs still that pop up
no on ever said it was going to be bugless
but i dont think there is any game breaking bugs
