That is most crazy thing ever anyone said about a game. Even if AION is very bad game then graphics will still get many new players. I think very much that you need glasses for help with seeing lots of things. People with not so good vision will sometimes see large blots of colors and this will confuse them. Maybe this is you?
Sounds like you need a challenge for you're computer.... ever played Rome or Medieval 2 Total War? If not, go and buy medieval 2, max out the gfx and max out the units (i think... around 40k) if you can play it with minimal FPS loss... then kudos! If not, then its only to be expected. Oh and Medieval 2 is 3 years old, and Empire Total War is coming out in march this year...
I hope you like RTS... and I hope you have patience for a long learning curve.

char's and armor are outstanding, Enviro is also nice. But to be truthful the 1st lvl of the abyss looks like crap. After you get past the wow factor of looking at it because its a floating world as far as you can see and fly around in, You will notice it is not very detailed.
They could have done a better job, but I think they did it for less lagg because of the zerg feast going on here. The 2nd lvl does look alot better, hopefully they will kick it up a notch when they release the other lvls of the abyss.
Just my 2 cents from seeing it first hand.

you can like or not the art direction, but is insane to say that it have bad gfx.
