yeah there's some serious past mmo issues that are resurfacing here... anyway there is proof that an open beta is planned, battle-sota said that they won't have beta, and then the responder quoted when Tasos mentioned an open beta.
As of now his "estimate" is a month off so if the game actually does release in Jan ( i seriously think it will) the beta will be "early jan" instead of "early december".

Yes, we all know DFO is "FEATURE COMPLETE". It's been said over and over. Tasos has been quoted on it. The one thing that is missing is the complete list of features. I could be wrong, but I have yet to see Tasos or Aventurine post anywhere a complete list of DFO's features in one neat place. Seriously, features that are talked about in one spot are discounted in by Tasos in other threads.

No developer has acted different without the piece of software being ordered beforehand and a contract about exists..hence AoC entered Beta and RELEASED without siegs, $OE releases everything not completed and many many other developers LOL

I will say that I was disappointed that there was not even a brief mention from Tasos about a new schedule for OPEN Beta when the 15th of December came and went.
Even just something as quick as:
"We will be re-scheduling OPEN Beta soon".
"We are running a couple weeks behind schedule with OPEN Beta".
"We will be re-scheduling OPEN Beta to be closer to Release".
Any of those would have worked. But nope... unfortunately it's pretty much the same... silence.
I could be wrong but the last time I've found that Tasos specifically mentioned the OPEN Beta is in the Oct. 31st update on the official boards.

"We are running a couple weeks behind schedule with OPEN Beta".
"We will be re-scheduling OPEN Beta to be closer to Release".
Any of those would have worked. But nope... unfortunately it's pretty much the same... silence.
I could be wrong but the last time I've found that Tasos specifically mentioned the OPEN Beta is in the Oct. 31st update on the official boards.
33 days to go until Jan. 22nd
Unfortunately... still no update on the status of OPEN Beta.
If they are still going to do an OPEN Beta, it will most likely only be a couple weeks long; and it would most likely be finished shortly before they Release. That would put the OPEN Beta starting somewhere in that first full week in January... IF they are stil having an OPEN Beta.
With that said...
Why hasn't Tasos at least addressed the situation of the previously scheduled OPEN Beta never materializing?
Why hasn't there been an update on OPEN Beta's new schedule?
With only a month before release... if they don't know the schedule for OPEN Beta by now... it isn't going to happen. Unless of course, a person thinks that the Release itself may be pushed back again. If that were the case, then I could see Tasos not wanting to commit to a new OPEN Beta schedule until he knows just how far back it has to be pushed back. Hopefully that is not the case.
Any of the above is possible. While I hope they keep the Jan. 22 launch date, entirely possible they will push it back. I doubt they will skip open beta all togeteher though, that stress test is important.
