I think this Tasos guy is full of shit. "we're letting more people in Beta daily" If you're letting people in daily then why not save yourself the trouble and just let EVERYONE in. There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to hand pick people for testing and have an NDA 1 month before your game is supposed to go public. Especially when he also says there have been no problems..... There haven't been any problems for the last 7 years... yet here we still are............................................................waiting to play.
says who? you?
I'll take tasos word over yours (who ever you are) anyday..

I thought the interview was great. It did not appear to me that Tasos was 'arrogant' as many have claimed him to be after his interview with MMORPG. I like this site but I guess when u concentrate on negative questions u get a negative response. In this new interview with curse.com the interview had a whole different atmosphere to it - if you ask specific questions about gameplay and launch than you get specific answers about those questions.
I don't see Tasos as being arrogant, i just see him as not wanting to put up with peoples bullshit. Good for him.
I give MMORPG.COM props for puttin him on the spot and asking questions that we the community wanted to know about.
Im sorry that they insulted your idol, but the questions were legitimate.
No MMO in history has been handled the way Aventurine has handled DFO.
If anything Tasos proved that hes never held a position like this before. Busted for being a noob at his job.
lol Arcken,
You are the one being insulted, you have bitched and moand over the MMORPG inteview since it was published.
Live with your fear, and it shall be easier..

500-700 sorry to bad i dont trust you to prove it to you
The game isn't going to be released next month. I have hard evidence but I don't trust you enough to prove it to you. downtoearth... are you a politician?
nope thanks for proving my point... i already proved it to a few people so meh shoo bug shoo
Downtoearth has proven to me that many people are in the beta.
Above that, the beta is quite a professional affair. I don't know what Aventurine intends to achieve by their secrecy, but this is deliberate and very well orchestrated.

Nice interview but there are some small concerns coming out of it.
1. I like PvP looting but normally the PvP looting systems will have part of your bag or a separate bag which is lootable but your core items are safe. It seems you need to keep everything in a bank and if you do find a great item you are going to be panicking the whole time you have it on you. Imagine saving up to build a ship for 3 weeks just to have it taken off you. Also after a mass battle will everyone be fully lootable? I just hope it does have boundaries. Even if its a limit like any item but only allowed to take 1.
2. Still little news on how crafting works. I have a feeling it is like AoC or WAR. Find ingredient, have recipe, click button. Shame if it is as I do like a deep crafting system.
3. No mention of how to buy the product. I imagine its going to be download only...
4. Tasos seems very confident about the game and what it holds. However every MMO needs tweaking post launch. I just hope their pride doesn't get in the way and if players are screaming out about something they actually listen and get on to it. Vanguard, Tabula Rasa, PotBS all had players screaming out and nothing was done. It seems WAR and AoC teams are listening and making some good progress.
5. Stealth. Ok so you are in the shadows but how are you hidden? Is it like AoC where you are in stealth mode or is it purely physical so players actually need to walk into the grass and look?
If anyone has any definitive answers to the above that would be great. Either way I am going to try it out.
I did find it interesting when he stated a few times that they want players to find out a particular mechanic.
I am glad he didn't use that as an answer to the question, "How will we sub on the 22nd of January?".... answer, "we prefer if the gamers found that out on their own" :P
Hah if anyone breached an NDA I doubt they would go bragging about it.
I had a friend long time ago, long story short:
Worked at Sega, and like an idiot when on some site and spoke about the Eprom in test for Superman on genesis (forgot the 3rp party company that made that crappy title anywhoo), That company threatened Sega, my friend got called in to speak w/ the current head of Sega and a Police dectective, ... Sega fired my friend...
and here's the funny punchline
A few months later he was hired by EA as an Associate Producer.

"There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer."

Hmmm, let me see if I've got this straight...
Launch is less than a month away.
There's no information on where to buy the game or even how much it costs.
There's less than 1000 people in beta (possibly much less).
There is no known free trial or open beta coming (nothing 100 percent reliable that I can find).
How can anyone not see the train wreck coming from a mile away?
I beleive there's people in Beta. About 10
Everyone is entitled to believe whatever they want.... but your wayyyy off.

Really good interview.
I liked the part about stealth, no more RP bullshit "Im always prepared for a ambuch" talk. If you didnt see them comming...its your fault.
And about if you spemd three weeks building a ship, then to see it get stolen.....why would you ever get it stolen??
It should be your clan using your ship to steal other ships from other clans.
