Some similarities there are between Brad McQuaid and Tasos.

I think this quote from Tasos himself will answer this best:
"It's because there's no way we'll miss a release date and we're not going to just set a date as a goal, and either postpone or be forced to release something unfinished. We resolve to stick with our release date because we know how people tend to plan around this as far as organization, time and hardware goes when they're looking to make a commitment to an MMORPG, especially a competitive one like Darkfall."

Problem is, Blodpls, that everyone doesn't think like you do. They do trust Tasos and Aventurine.

If he didn't mean what he said in that quote... then he shouldn't have said it. It's not my fault that he made that commitment.
That's what happens when you are the voice for a company. You have to be careful what you say. It doesn't only reflect on you, but also for the company that you speak for.

Well imho thats their fault for being fricking stupid, you would think that in the internet age people would take things with a grain of salt and realise that nothings over until the fat lady sings. People go on as if delaying a game is some kind catostrophic event or that they personally have thousands of dollars riding on it.

LOL Ascension where the hell have you been man? I missed you around this place. Or maybe we just been missing each other.
Truthfully I never believe anything anyone says, specially greeks. However that doesn't factor in to why I am so particularly hard on DFO.
I am just a realist, and the reality is this company is shyte. No matter how you cut it, this game is not getting off the ground anytime soon. I won't say ever anymore, it might, I just highly doubt it.
I don't care if Tasos apologizes or not, I won't be playing this poo anyway. Just he has a lot of fans who praise him as some kind of god bringing the grail to the shallow masses of MMO players.
Sadly he won't make good on his word. I think he should apologize to them.
Cause on the 23rd I won't be accepting any "BUT BUT excuses" I am going to let all these dfo fans know just how misplaced their faith in the mighty Tasos really is. Maybe just maybe after a FULL decade has passed. They will get it.

I must be a masochist cuz I've been playing that failfest, themepark, linear, cramped, rock-paper-scissors game called Warhammer. Only reason I'm back (for a while) is I'm waiting for a new video card that hopefully won't drop my FPS down to 5 when I'm in a forest .
Did you read Blodpls' post though, I'm startin to like him. He practically slapped all fanatic fanboys in the face with that post lol.

I'm not being sarcastic, I just don't understand why people think that they are owed an appology if someone delays a game release, or even if it never releases for that matter. If I was making a game and I delayed it for six years I'm not gonna apologise to anyone that may of thought about buying at sometime in the future, they just won't be able to and thats tough shit for them, it's not as if I have wronged them in any way. Anyone who thinks that I would have wronged them must be some kind of fcuked up basement dweller.

No, not catastrophic, but if i were to spend my bloody 60$ just to be crashing or unable to play "promised" features, then I would really be pissed - id rather spend those 60$ getting hammered or eating at a restaurant. So yeah, not catastrophic, but still hurts.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Yeah thats different, I totally agree and I would be annoyed as well, unfortunately this all too common in the gaming industry.

Even if there are no pre-orders, hopes and expectations would be crushed.
In a better example, if you go to pizza pizza for a slice, and you spend 30 minutes waiting for them to bake you a pizza, and at the end, the guy says, "well, that was the last pizza, but its for us. Sorry, come again tomorrow". then, according to your logic, you shouldn't be pissed because you did not pay for it. But im betting you would be.

Yes it would be annoying, but I view more along the lines of a new pizza restaurant is under construction nearby and there are signs for it on the outside of the site "pizza place coming soon" , and then one day the project is cancelled. I'm not going to phone up the construction company and demand appology.

Well he can say whatever he wants and retract it, change it and it doesn't make any difference to anyone. Until you have paid him some money it's none of your business. If it lowers your opinon of the company and you decide not to buy the game then fair enough, but apologise, lol, for what??

I must be a masochist cuz I've been playing that failfest, themepark, linear, cramped, rock-paper-scissors game called Warhammer. Only reason I'm back (for a while) is I'm waiting for a new video card that hopefully won't drop my FPS down to 5 when I'm in a forest .
Did you read Blodpls' post though, I'm startin to like him. He practically slapped all fanatic fanboys in the face with that post lol.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

Well imho thats their fault for being fricking stupid, you would think that in the internet age people would take things with a grain of salt and realise that nothings over until the fat lady sings. People go on as if delaying a game is some kind catostrophic event or that they personally have thousands of dollars riding on it.
Just a tad over 5 grand here!!! You?
I bet on black.
Come On baby... Momma wants a new pair of shoes!

xzyax your not the crazy dude like 8 months ago that actually gave some money to the dev team are you?
There was a guy here once that was so in love with the idea of DFO he actually gave the company money.
Please tell me it wasn't you!

Oh, I don't have a problem with Blodpls bro, he just doing his job. It was prolly my fault anyway for not reading his sarcasm properly. I am getting kinda tired of reading all these DF post so my eyes may be tricking me.
Sorry Blodpls if I didn't read your post right.
I still stand behind Vanguard being a piece of shit though.

I suppose next you are going to tell me it was stupid to send it as a wad of $100 dollar bills?
Come on now... I am not that stupid.
I covered up the wad of $100 dollar bills with $5 dollar bills! Pretty sneaky of me if I do say so myself.
LOL good man good man.
I always cover my roll of 1's with a single hundred.
200 1's make a pretty fat roll.
How gangsta of me.

Sorry Sky, I meant this Blodpls post
If I could, I would've linked the quote into the original reply of mine, but I'm not forum-savvy.

Shit blodpls I think he got you on that one,
Cause if they didn't hand me that pizza after I waited 30 minutes for it, I would pummel death that pizza guy.
Yes it would be annoying, but I view more along the lines of a new pizza restaurant is under construction nearby and there are signs for it on the outside of the site "pizza place coming soon" , and then one day the project is cancelled. I'm not going to phone up the construction company and demand appology.
Why the hell not!
I want some pizza damnit!
