Doubt it will be overly hard for anyone to guess my answer lol.

DarkFall - More freedom, FFA PvP, Full Loot, Awsome AI, and simply put fun lol.

I will not be playing Aion, sounds too much like a mix of Lineage and WAR, games I did not like.. I do not like grinding, and I do not like WoW style games, combat or PvP.. I like open world games with no leveling, and FPS/Real Time combat.. I will be looking forward to Kaos War, Mortal Online, Earthrise, Fallen Earth and other games  because of this.. So Darkfall has my vote over Aion, it is more of my style..

You understand you have to grind skill levels in DFO to keep them leveled up right? If you don't use them enough they go back down and they will be weaker than somebodies with a higher level of it, which forces you to grind them back up to compete everytime they have a flavor of the month ability patch.

Wrong, they do not decay below 70 or so.. I think it is 75.0

In fact, I do not think they even have this enabled yet..

Which means I am right. Your skills decay and you have to grind them back up. Somebody with higher skill is going to have an easier time than you.

Skill gain in Darkfall is not a grind, it does not feel like one, you do what you want in the game, you experience all the content from day 1, the world is fun to explore and it is very open ended, the players make up the history of the game, there is no quest line that is holding your hand, you learn all the skills you want to, you are not forced to LEVEL your skills, therefore it is not a grind.. In most games, you are forced to level up, it is a  must, a need, in Darkfall it is not..

I know all about DarkFall and may have more experience with it than you it seems. You can see all of the world from day one, yes, but you do not have access to all content from day one. You "unlock" more skills as your skill level gets higher in certain areas. Yes, you can learn all the skills you want to, but in order to do that you need to level up your skills high enough to use them, which to some, is a grind. You are right in that nobody is forcing you to level them up, but nobody is forcing you to level up in other games either. Like those games though, in order to compete at the highest level, you WILL need to grind those skills up and keep them up. I am going to play DarkFall and have no blinders on about it. I know exactly what it is like and I understand what type of community I am going to be playing with in it. This game offers the chance to potentially be a very deep MMORPG but it seems a lot of the fans of the game are making this out to be something it is not. I am not sure how high you have leveled a skill in this game but it isn't just a few swings of the sword as you level up higher to level up again. It takes many swings and casts ( that actually land ) once you get the skill level high enough to level them and unlock the higher tier spells and abilities.

I have my eye on both. Definitely will play Aion, if it ever gets released in the US.

Darkfall I'll wait for some kind of trial before I buy it.

DF skill system is a grind, no matter what you say, it is, this can change at release but now in beta sure it is.

Sorry me but this thread is retarded, why not with others games of this year?. They are diffrerents games and styles, only they are united by a common release on 2009.

    This could be a fight's trolls^^

You will have plenty of time to have checked out Actual Reviews of Darkfall long before Aion comes out. Make up you mind whether to play DF on that basis.

    This post makes me laugh

Darkfall is a total pile of amateur trash compared to a production like AION in every single way possible.

    And that's a fact jack.

  • Ngeldu5tNgeldu5t Member UncommonPosts: 608

There's no need for me to think twice, Aion all the way.DF is a no no...don`t like the character animations, does not like FFA PvP and the company seems amateur...

In the land of Predators, the lion does not fear the jackals...

aion because to me DF is a failure and its also a failure to 98% of the mmo community so it will never be nothing but garbage and aion has already more subs then df will have ever in just 1country alone so gg and why use a game that looks like it was maded during the time of win 98 when you can play a game that actualy looks good

Oh another one of these guys.

DF will only be around until Mortal online comes out. And mortal online will only be around until the next PVP game comes out. Neither one of em will hold a large player base because its a niche game. These PvP MMO's are just like FPS games. When a new FPS game is released its the hot buy but when another comes out they all flock to the new one. PvE is what makes staying power in MMO's (for the most part)

If gold in DF has any value whatsoever. There will be chinese farming gold in DF too. You can try to kill them to but they also can fight back. CGF are like cockroaches you can kill endless numbers of them but they will always come back.

Waiting for:EQ-Next, ArcheAge (not so much anymore)
    Now Playing: N/A
    Worst MMO: FFXIV
    Favorite MMO: FFXI

After having checked out Mortal Online and after the disastrous launch of Darkfall, I'm going to guess Mortal has a better chance of making it and sticking around for a while.

Community in DF is the worst of any mmo to date. There is no RPG in DF and for those two reasons I will never play DF.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
