Darkfall NEW Release Feb 25th

Not surprising.

Of those who were saying things along the lines of:

- "It will be released on the 22nd, prepare to eat your words"

- "It doesn't need a long beta, it's been ready to ship for a while now. Tasos said so"

- "It doesn't need a stress test, that's what the bots are for"

- "All you trolls don't know what you're talking about"

... basically, the ones who've been drinking the kool-aid right up 'til the 11th hour had already started back-pedaling, spinning their own and others' words, and conjuring up excuses for a missed release date as of a couple days ago at least.

No surprise they're doing it now.

given the fact that half the people here thought that game did not excist a few months ago I think we are still in the posative.

 

Tasos has a fat mouth and sucks at keeping dates.  A blind man could of seen this delay coming.

 

The preorder shit,  i am kind of pissed off about.  Really went overboard there.

 

The try for free claim people also should of saw coming.  There is no way they could of handled the amount of people who would of tried this game.  Kind of disapointed they did not see that,  but it was a pretty rediculous anyways.

 

My prediction is that game will be stable with most of the features in,  but likely there will be another delay following the one on the 25th.  I do not see a dark and light coming.

As for all the people running around claiming I TOLD YOU SAW,  please read your old damn post and count how many wholes from the past you failboat already has in it.  The prediction running around this forum from 5 months back were off the wall nutters and 99% have never come to pass.

was not in beta the last 3-5 years.  Things seem to take step backwards as they take steps forward,  but we are moving forward.  give it time we will see how things turn out.

I think it's more about those who called anyone saying the game wouldn't be ready for the 22nd  "haters" and "trolls", and that when the game did come out on the 22nd, they'd be eating their words.

Now those same people are spinning like tops, making up excuses for the missed launch (that they insisted wouldn't happen).

Anyone with half a brain saw the red flags, as you point out. I don't think the comments are so much about them.

I think it's more about the ones who'd have believed if Tasos said he had his own private UFO and was capable of inter-stellar travel (though that would make Richard Garriot really jealous), and even now, will still believe everything the guy says without question.

Everyone's gullible to some degree, or at least willing to give the benefit of the doubt. But there's a point where even the most devout believer has to take a step back and say "Okay... enough is enough now".. Some here, it seems, will never reach that point.

If you care to search Tasos said he would never say a release date they couldnt meet,this is the 1st actual date he has mentioned and he couldnt even meet that...thats irony for you.

The title of this made me laugh...

Then the "pre-order" announcement made me laugh so hard I cried and puked twice.

I am really sorry for the fans of this game who genuinely (not maliciously) want it to do well. I am also sorry that Darkfall seems to be going the route of DnL more and more as time passes.

Guys, i've hardly ever posted in these forums, just lurked. This news of a delay to me has nothing to do with the game not being ready but has more to do with buisness 101.

A small dev company located in no man's land develope's a mmo with hardly any money and limited resources, builds the hype so big that a much larger and well known dev companies take notice.

Big dev companies step in, and makes a offer that can't and probably won't be refused. Small dev company makes a fortune and walks away while the big company releasing the game.

It's called hyping a product to the masses to point that the big movers and shakers take notice and want's either a piece or the whole thing. Does it make it easier for joe public to swallow,  nope.

Of course this is my opinion and theory and could be so far off base it's not even funny.

Pretty sure that would be the death of DarkFall if they sold out to SoE. 

They would have to shut down their forums if they did that!
