First, every date that has been set over the past few months HAS BEEN MISSED! So now we are to assume that on the 22nd a trial "of thousands" equates to try before you buy. Will there even be this "trial" on the 22nd or will there be another delay. Perhaps they will scrap it and just take pre-orders.
The are systematically removing the positives for their release until eventially in mid Febuary all that will be left is blind pre-orders. Who knows if they will actually release at the end of Fenuary either...

When I read this news on Darkfall forum the first idea to my mind was: ZOMG!! mmorpg.com forums will explode!!!!
Later I thought, well, I'll put 200 diamonds on runes of magic: to dye my character's hair and buy some tp pots.
What I will do: Wish the game the best. Hope to get into Open beta / Trial / Free stuff / call how you want. Pay attention to the release. And join if it looks good enought after some time.

Yes, I apologize for my lost brethren. They seem to forget that there were some dates in December that were fairly official by the hands of Tasos. My brother wasn't specific in his retort... January 22 is the first official release date ever... but thankfully I recall there were many dates, broad and general that have graced my ears concerning Darkfall.

Almost as quickly as the delay was announced, they've now done a complete 180 and are now saying:

It's almost like they don't want to admit they were wrong, and want to forget everything that happened in the days and weeks past. All Tasos said and they swore by as though it was gospel, -poof-, forgotten as though it never took place.

Ok lets start with the basics, you do know what a open beta is right? So if you can't get in because they are only letting 2000 players test it, it is not a open beta. (open refering to anyone that wants to can trying it)
Thanks for more DF hype please do post more about how the game as of Dec the 6th of last year was totally feature ccomplete and more ready for release then almost any other game 3 months after release. I Like it when the fans dig themselves deeper and deeper in. Not like everyone knew that the same fans screaming "In your face trolls! DF is launching for sure on Jann the 22nd!" back in December wouldn't do exactly what you just did. (So predictable)

It's not open beta it's still limited to a certain number of invited players. You are right though in a way. This shows release is imminent. Taking money means there is no more backing down, no chance of being vapor, and that it is a legitimate game that will release soon. Let them throw themselves a party though. What the hell are they going to do with their time once March rolls around? Troll Mortal Online maybe? I don't know... Their lives will be pretty sad within a couple months.
