Only in the last few months have there a few interviews and some videos and blogs released by hand-picked cronies.
Now Aventurine is FINALLY suggesting that they may provide some real proof in the form of a client to the public. But you may just have to pre-order the game first
And yet there are still those defending Aventurine. For years there was no proof at all and the followers of this game just accepted everything spewing out of Tasos like it was gospel. The MMORPG community deserves better. We have seen developers that treat their community better like Turbine, Mythic and Blizzard (yes, Blizzard’s community treatment has been far superior to Aventurine)
And yet people still praise Tasos for his arrogance even after making statements like:

The people posting here and on the DF forums are a classic exmaple of stupidity run rampant. We just watched 2 of the most anticipated MMOs in years come out in 2008 and land in virtual quicksand as they sank away into almost nothing. The reason is what we have seen time and time again, a bad launch. You can't recover from it. If Warhammer and AoC had launched with the content and polish they have today, they both would be doing a lot better. While it can be disappointing to have to wait, if you want the game to succeed, you need it to be as good as possible when it goes live. Another 4 weeks is not the end of the world compared to the delays other games have issued, and considering how long we have been waiting. Getting it right has always been the most important thing, especially for a first impression. Nobody wins if an MMO fails, so it puzzles me why so many people are praying for the failure of this game when the market is already saturated with cookie-cutter theme park MMOs that do little to innovate or give players the freedom befitting of anygame classified as an RPG.

I've read a lot and heard a lot about this game, but not from someone who actually claims to be a beta tester. This in itself is strange to me.
Darkfall has promised so much for an uknown developer that I will be both shocked and impressed if they can deliver it.
Gameplay wise it sounds very much like shadowbane 2.0, which could be very very good or very very bad. I don't know who besides hardcore pvpers will hang around once they find out that you can get griefed/corpse camped / ganked with impunity and have all your stuff taken.

It is only the culture of having to play a game on pre-release that puts fans in any danger of Darkfall being a scam. Why do you need to play the game on launch day –10?
Wait for a month after launch and check the reviews. So what if you are behind by 30 to 40 days? Are you going to die in that time, is the internet going to blow up? The game will still be there and if as some think it is going to be fab you will get your chance to play it.
I would also question the reliability and authenticity of posters who like the one above who have only ever posted once and done so to do a fanboy hype of DF.

This is another 30 day MMO. Whilst these guys have actually taken the bold step of being niche with the the play style they have a pretty awful Avatar / Terrain engine. If you want people to pay to play then it will require a lot more to keep them than DF is offering.
Flame all you like, check this thread in 60 days after launch and see how it's going.
The fact that it is delayed just tells me that while it will be playable clearly it will still be crap when it first comes out and thus anyone with any common sense would more than likely wait a few months for all the fixes and what not. Like I said in the article, I do think that there is some cause for concern and certainly there are questions to be asked... but when other companies announce delays... even weird ones... we don't often run off screaming vaporware, either.

Like I said in the article, I do think that there is some cause for concern and certainly there are questions to be asked... but when other companies announce delays... even weird ones... we don't often run off screaming vaporware, either.
I'm just saying, perspective is key.
